I'm starting to think MEN are right about this one, simply because we seem to be signing Matic and I don't think we'll be buying two players for DM
This one ain't happening. We're not signing Fabinho and Matic at the same time.
How do you know that Matic is the one that we are signing though?

We could have him alternate as a right back and midfielder. God knows we need support in both areas and with being able to play both positions he would easily get a lot of game time.
I could easily see us signing both ,we are going in to the champions league this year we need a big squad plus Fabinho is versatile and can play a few positions.

Think we will still sign Fabinho as a wing/right back. I have a weird feeling Mourinho is going to go with 3 at the back with wing backs being Perisic/Shaw and Valencia/Fabinho.

Will be 28 in 5 years which is 4 years before being in his 32, too old, don't want.
It feels like some are close to breaking point if Di Marzio was wrong and MEN were right.
This would certainly be the worst time for Di Marzio to be wrong on a transfer story!

We could have made a bid for both and one gor held talks with both players and clubs, but decided to go with Matic or Monaco rejected our offer. A lot of stuff could have happened without any party being wrong since that article.
While that's true, I can definitely see people flat out calling Di Marzio a liar, wanting him banned from the twitter thread etc.
Dont think it will happen a lot, especially the banning stuff. Sure some will be disappointed, but thats part of the transfer storys. Even done deals fail sometimes due to some weird stuff happening behind the scenes.
I suppose we'll all know soon enough who was right (if indeed anyone was).

Hopefuilly Di Marzio gets one more in the win column with this, vital we get him rather than the horticultural option.
Not sure why many are sure we will sign only one CM this season. Carrick is 36 and probably his last season, Fellaini isn't good in the deeper role, we have let go Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin. We need few midfielders if we play 4-3-3.
Pogba, Herrera, Fellaini, Carrick are our options now, Fellaini is suited for attacking role than deeper role.

when has Jose ever played a 3 at the back consistently? not enough attack in that line up.

Fabinho adds passing and tackles to our midfield. Matic is a 2016/2017 carrick replacement.
I agree with both parts, unlikely to happen and also not good enough. Just the dying embers of the Fabinho transfer fire and how to fit him and Matic in a lineup. All highly unlikely though.
Why would we sign one of the best defensive midfielders last season and play him in the only outfield position we are truly sorted in? No chance we'd buy him to be a right back in my opinion.
I certainly wouldn't buy him as a RB.
He wants to play there as he believes it will give him the best chance of making the World Cup squad.
We could initially use him in both positions with Valencia 32 and Carrick only kept on as a player for emergencies whilst he concentrates on coaching the youth players.
