Not convinced by mkhi yet. Especially in the big games he has failed (reached rooney in pub player mode levels at times) and yes I know he scored in the final.

I know where you're coming from, but he was a beast for us in Europa League and got the winner v Spurs at OT. A Dortmund fan on here did say that he tends to undulate with regards form etc, so for me, I felt his first season was good. Not great, not bad, but good. Hopefully more to come from the guy.

I also feel like I have to defend the guy because he seems like such a sound bloke. So humble. I like that.

I agree wholeheartedly

When Di Marzio confirms a bid, it's on like fecking donkey kong. I think he might be the next signing

That name is Fabinho, born in 1993, the Monaco player is very close to Manchester United. His future may be as a Red Devil, with after a bid of 50 million euros (bonuses inlcluded). The negotiations are underway and Fabinho's future could be in the Premier League under Mourinho's stewardship.

If we sign him and put him in front of defence, then use Pogba and Hererra in midfield, wont that mean we wont have enough space for a number 10? Unless Mourinho is planning to use him in rotation with Hererra?

We are probably looking to move to a 433, with one of the two wide players drifting inside to occupy that space.

Having a proper DM, would allow Herrera and Pogba to move further up and basically play in those positions too.

Plus it'll mean we can rest pogba or Herrera without a massive drop in quality and switch to a midfield 2 with Mata or Mkhi playing behind the striker. It's important to have plenty of options as I'm sure we'll have champions league games followed by important fixtures at the weekend.

Weird thing is Perisic is more suited to a 4-2-3-1 while Fabinho needs a 4-3-3, seems neither will play all the time like Pogba. And I would expect 4-2-3-1 to remain our main formation as we just don't have enough firepower for 4-3-3. Unless we make a surprise marquee signing.

Yep, however our starting lineup appears on paper or on TV one fullback will basically be a wide forward. And a midfield 3 of Pog-Ander-DM would be quite intimidating.

We'd need more goal scorers for that solidity to make any difference though, lest we recreate last season.

How does Fabinho require a 433 when he's just had his best season playing in a 442?

Confused I thought BBC said that we aren't interested in him. If we can afford one more midfielder then I'm happy, no complain.

I thought he was nailed on for City. Feel sorry for Monaco, they are getting raided just like Southampton.
Would have loved to see them keep this same group of players, and watch how they do next season.

I object to not signing him solely on the basis of allowing City to sign two highly rated players I've barely seen that a lot of other people like.

City ITK's that broke the Silva medical said weeks ago that they were no longer targeting Fabinho.

Good to see DiMarzio linking us to him but I'm gonna wait for Boufhasi's confirmation before I get my hopes up.

Could turn out to be a brilliant signing. If he signs would that mean we will play 4-3-3? I am worried about our wide positions then we need goal scorers and we haven't been linked with wide forwards who can score goals.

In my view Jose already knows how he is going to set up next season, I am more curious to see how we will play in pre season.

Has to be I feel. All 3 are too good to drop and having Fabinho holding will elevate Herrera and Pogba to the next level imo, especially the latter. As far as wide forwards are concerned, the ability is there, it's all about whether we can extract the most out of the guys. Mata, Mkhi, Rashford, Martial have a lot of potential goals in them. We will sign another wide option too in all probability.

Perisic is more suited to a 4141 or a 4411 or 442, we have played 4141 for many games last season.

I didn't want to get invested in this transfer until I heard a credible source linking him to us, so I guess it's fair to say I'm sucked in now.

When he speaks then that means it is done.Di Marizio has been hit and miss so I don't think we should take his article seriously.

Ehsanul shitting on the transfer

Reminds of the Pogba transfer.

I only believe it when Howard Nurse confirms it.

weren't you the one spamming the pogba thread with madrid nonsense and linking to "ITK" bimbo's?

Perisic isn't nearly good enough to be one of the front 3, and the width he provides that opens up the space needs a top #10 or SS to run into it, and we don't have one.

Pogba can fill that space, so can Mata or inside cutting mkh.

After he has won his first league title with us then?

Howard is far accurate then that. He'll probably only report it if Fabinho ends up with a statue infront of OT

Has Di Marzio actually ever been wrong on a transfer after he confirms a bid has taken place? The only times i can remember him getting something wrong was when he talked about interest/rumours.

When Di Marzio has confirmed a bid, i've only ever seen those players leave their clubs or the bid is rejected.

First line of the Di Marzio article says: "Mourinho is on the lookout for a wing back" - surely he'd play DM

His article in Italian says Juve want him as full back but he's going to us instead, not that we specifically want him as a full back. I think the English version is a bad translation that cuts the article down and changes it to we're signing him as a wing back.
