Fabinho

I can't ever remember seeing him play. However, I seem to want this transfer to go through for some unexplainable reason. I may have caught the bug or I'm in need of a psychiatrist.

Are we sure this is new? Wasn't there a source claiming that Fabinho said he preferred United few weeks back?

Seems like the only person in the world who doesn't want him is the one who matters, which is a shame when you see rumours of us going for the inferior and more expensive Matic/Dier. I hope Mourinho sees sense and signs him.

We have to be honest here and admit that we haven't got the pull we once had and even when players use us for a new contract ain't even working now #Ronaldo.
We have signed much bigger names in the last 2 years than we have ever before

Not saying they have worked out, but we have

That is why I am wondering if perhaps us muppets are overrating him? He has basically been on offer now for two seasons, yet no takers from the top clubs.

Are we missing something or simply wildly overrating him?

Possibly, but I watched a fair amount of Monaco last season and he was very important for them in the way he was able to break up the play and transition that to attack, something we're lacking.

He is slightly overrated on here. In a sense that he's talked about as though he's the answer to all our problems. I'd say he's one of a few players who could come in and do a job in that position if we do want a holding midfielder.

You'd think that the presenter would have asked him about City or Juve as well.

They aren't big enough, not for their target audience. Doubt the average Brazilian knows City at all (but then, their pundits kept saying Beckman during World Cup 2002, so there's that).

Out of all the links it's obvious he would be asked about us. The more interesting part is him not expanding on the question to include other possible suitors.

This is me, highly influenced by Redcafe. Hate Perisic, love Fabinho.

- Player wants to come.
- Monaco willing to let him leave for an extremely reasonable price.
- Given his debut by Mourinho.
- Perfect player to anchor our midfield and and if needed, cover for Valencia at RB.

Just get it done.

How would an italian newspaper know about a Brazilian player based in France....doesnt add up!

I have no idea if this journalist is reliable or if this story is a load of nonsense, but surely in this age of technology geography doesn't really matter anymore in terms of the flow of information.

In 2017 you can talk to anyone in practically any country in the world through many different mediums in seconds.

Something doesn't fit here. A quality young player in a position in which we badly need quality and available for a very good price it seems. As that is not enough, he practically begs us to sign him.

We should be all over it. And maybe we are... Don't have a clue, just wish that we get him.

Matic it is then. Sounds like we haven't even approached him never mind waiting for his holiday to be over

Too much sense in this. Woodward disapproves.

Could be a tact to get a better deal. A wild guess on my part obviously.

I hear what you are saying, especially when every other footballer is doing exactly this.
But I think Fabinho genuinely wants to join.

On the contrary, this seems to suggest we aren't in for the player at all.

Why? At best it means we haven't made an approach but if we had no interest at all why would he even bother making this statement? Surely there's a chance we'd go for him that's why he's talking it up

If we actually don't want him I would love to know why. In that case I would hope that Mourinho talks about it in one of his pre-season press conferences, he tends to be quite an open and honest guy on tour press conferences. It would be fascinating to know the reasons, but I'm jumping the gun.

I don't think anyone is in for him and that's why he's publicly begging for a move.

If we were interested we'd have spoken to him by now and he wouldn't be making public statements of this nature. All the noises are coming from his end.

This is off like donkey cough.
