Fabinho

Is he as good in chest and elbow play as Fellaini is?

Except for Perisic and Mkhitaryan from last year everything else fits Fergie's old club philosophy of buying players earlier in their age and letting them grow into the club.

Perisic is the typical SAF winger. He's hardworking, he's hugs the byline and has a decent cross in him. Mkhitaryan is very similar to the Nani/Ronaldo inside forwards SAF bought in the past. Regarding age, well, SAF bought Young at age 26. Perisic is just 2 years older than that

For instance, his technique and ball control are not fantastic.
When i saw this i thought: fair enough, its his opinion.
But in the next page there's you claiming that WILLIAN CARVALHO would be a better Carrick replacement.
So i dont think its a opinion, i think you just dont know what you're talking about.

None of them are fit to tie Carrick's boots - in his best days; but Fabinho is a far more complete player than Carvalho.
Fabinho would be easily top three RB in europe too.
Of course you can pick some stats of pass accuracy, for example, and Carvalho will be a little bit better IN THE PORTUGUESE LEAGUE than Fabinho in the French League, but Carvalho's numbers will drop as rock in the water in the CL.

Fabinho is in the Champions League XI of the season of France Football.

More than that: you only need watch both players to realize who's the best.
WHY some of you tend to post silly things pretending that you know what you're talking about?

Man, so many things to correct… I didn't say Carvalho was a better player, just that he's a midfielder which controls the tempo of play and has better overall technique and passing skills than Fabinho, so more like Carrick. Fabinho is probably more athletic and fast than Carvalho, and more versatile also, but that still doesn't make him a like like for substitute for Carrick. You see where I'm getting? Also, I follow the Portuguese league closely and have also watched several Monaco games this and last season, cause there's a lot of Portuguese connections there.

Reliable?

Was just about to post that - he was one of initial 'sources' of Fabinho most likely joining us. Can't see why a Monaco fan would post fake negative news about their own players leaving the club though. Think he has been retweeted by Bouhafsi before.

This is being fuelled by one nobody after another. Not sure there's anything in it.

Was he first to say Bernardo Silva to City as well?

Yep. There's been absolutely no news about Fabinho for weeks.

Well, our transfer business recently means that a lot of the press, especially the English press, have no idea what is going on. Somehow, the 'insiders' in the respective clubs are more ITK.

Think he could have a potential Kanté-level impact here. Potential best in the world ability I think he has.

To be fair, Bernardo to City was also nothing for weeks and months, it was us getting linked with him a week before. Then the day before the odds of him going to City fell dramatically, the next morning/midday some French ITK and City ITK reported him going to a medical in Manchester to sign for City that day. Hope for something here too, just one day bang he is in Manchester to sign for United and do a medical.

Would probably end up our best summer signing. We're desperate for a class DM to free up Pogba and Fabinho would be perfect, I'd love if he signs for us.

There isn't anything substantial on this but I don't see why that's an issue. We've kept things under wraps very well over the past few windows. I mean look at our movement already, yes we were linked and even more heavily in January but all the talk was regarding Keane and now we've all but wrapped things up with Lindelof.

Fabinho makes more sense than almost anyone else in the market this year for us so I reckon let's just wait and see since the journos, especially the UK ones, aren't clued in anymore.

If I remember correctly, James Robson (funnily enough) reported he was in Manchester and wasn't sure whether it's for city or united and that was the first tweet regarding it?

I'll not get too excited until something concrete comes out. Seen too meltdowns on here in the past to get suckered in.

I'm not one to get carried away over who we do or don't buy, but this seems to be about as "no-brainer" as it gets.

He's great in defensive midfield, a position we're lacking, and offers great cover to Valencia at right back, something we currently don't have. Absolute must-buy.

I'm pretty indifferent towards most of the players we've been linked to but Fabinho would be brilliant

Almost certainly not
Actually very reliable, he was also one of the first along with alexis merlino to break silva to city news. Also city fan sammy lee and another one(both great Itk's for them) have said the same.

JM loves Rashford as well and he even said he liked him. So I don't know why you ruled him out from your dream of theatre dream XI. And why Morata is right winger?

Perisic Belotti Morata

vs

Neymar Suarez Messi OR
Ronaldo Benzema Bale OR
Robben Lewandowski Muller OR
Hazard Lukaku Pedro OR
Alli Kane Eriksen OR
De Bruyne Silva Aguero Benardo OR
Reus Aubameyang Dembele

I must say I'm not too confident with that front three when I look at other club's attackers.
Agreed, I think Morata will lead the line and Rashford will become a winger with a certain role. Don't know for Perisic, I am not a big fan neither but it would become Perisic / Morata / Rashford.

We will sign Fabinho, Morata and belotti and you all will cum in your pants while you wait for the season to begin.

And we'll struggle again to score goals with that front three.

We need some solid goalscoring options from the wings if we're to play Morata to lead the line.

What has he actually said though? "IF Fabinho doesn't sign a new contract" So he doesn't really know?

If we manage to get Fabinho, this would be an absolutely successful transfer window even if Morata and Perisic are not that exciting. We NEED a player like him in order to compete and in order for Pogba to shine.

Standard process, when a player wants to leave you offer him a new cpontract in hope he stays, Ronaldo signed one, De gea signed one, griezmann looks to be signing one lindelof signed one.

Not sure about that... Rashford is the kind of player who can create at least one dangerous situation even in a game where United is fully dominated. And he is naturally attracted by the goal. Perisic could be the crossing winger and Morata obviously is the strong guy who will play with the goals behind him or score.

I was just thinking that replacing everyone in an attacking line cannot lead to a good result all of sudden. It would be a big gamble unless we hire Ronaldo and Messi or Suarez.

Fabinho is a good buy in the current context. That Monaco team has made a big impression in the C1, it's only natural we are interested in those players.

Rashford is still inexperienced to pin our hopes on him producing top displays every week. Morata is not one of the most prolific strikers on the market and Perisic is a bit underwhelming choice.

I'd have Martial instead of Perisic in that line up. We should be looking at Sanchez or that type of winger in this set up.

with this one 100% agree. Even with our attacking issues Fabinho should be right up there with the #1 priority. Him Herrera and Pogba would look pretty solid. Maybe the best/most promising midfield since a good while.

Without sounding OTT, the signing of Fabinho would get me more excited than Morata. Purely because there's a serious lack of available quality central midfielders this window.
