I didn't rate Bakayoko at Monaco. Pleasantly surprised Chelsea went for him.

Ligue 1 to EPL is a huge step, we have seen many players from other league moving to us and flopped and they sometimes moved to Ligue 1 and become soo good there. It's very much hard to predict whether they can produce same performance in EPL as they do in another league, it's not really guaranteed that they'll have instant success in EPL.
Fabinho, Fekir, a Partner for Van Dijk and a good Goalie. That would be a fantastic team.

We signed Matic, and will probably now sign Fred. That’s why we aren’t in for him.
Keita is more of a box to box midfielder. Getting Fabinho as a holding midfielder definitely strengthens them further giving the front 3 a lot more protection. Liverpool may have lost the final but are recruiting in the right position. If they get Alisson Becker and Fabinho, they will be a huge threat next season. All I hear from United are just rumors...
Didn't watch Monaco this season but last season I rated Fabinho higher.
A flop is always possible but remember that Bakayoko was a flop for Monaco before the start of his last season, they were ready to cut their losses and he miraculously managed 6 good months. People were glad to see Chelsea's offer.
Ill clarify. Had Fabinho or Lemar been sold then other players would not have been sold. Monaco did not plan to prevent those two from being sold, rather they had sold 5 players and the 2 left over were Fabinho and Lemar.
To further reinforce my point, Monaco were ready to sell Lemar to Arsenal but Arsenal took too long and waited till the last day.

Its not hysteria. Like it or not the PL is more physical than Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga so assuming two players will easily slot into the LFC team and immediately make them contenders isnt adviseable.
Half of Monaco's team was raided last year and yet no one thought of going after Fabinho first. Now I am not saying he isn't a good player, but it just seems he is not a player that is a must have for big clubs especially considering his decent price tag.

If Liverpool sign Fabinho and Fekir along with Keita, anything less than a title challenge next season should be judged harshly for Klopp.
PL is more physical than any league in the world. So really we can pick and choose our battles for all incoming signings from overseas to fit whatever narrative. Aka Fred excellent, Fabinho not to excellent, etc etc.
