FA Premier League 21/02/25 - 23/02/25

So you're confirming that that with 14 games to go both Spurs and Arsenal were in exactly the same position, five points behind the leaders Leicester and challenging for the title?

No - I'm confirming that Arsenal were "challenging for the title", half way through the season, and finished the season basically in the exact same form and position when spurs were even remotely mentioned.

So there was no "two horse race" that Spurs were involved in, and past March no one was catching leicester regardless (in part, due to some very flattering refereeing and teams rolling over).

So, in short - In 2015/16, the two teams in the "title race" were Arsenal and Leicester. Spurs were always just observing in/around 3rd. Could we have finished 2nd? Yes, by not losing the final game. Did any of our results have any impact on the title? No.

I'm not on the wind-up, mate I genuinely don't get what you're saying.

With 14 games to go, the only thing preventing Arsenal or Spurs from winning a title was the five point advantage belonging to a team that barely escaped relegation the year before. I'll forever be disappointed that Arsenal's title challenge wilted that season. But denying that we were in the race has never crossed my mind as a coping strategy : )

If you're saying that Spurs couldn't be considered as challengers because a five point lead from Leicester was insurmountable with 42 points left to play for... that's fine, I guess. But I would have thought that's even more embarrassing than coming up short in a title challenge - after all, that happens to good teams every year.

Tuned in to the Villa Chelsea game to see Rashford and Sancho only to find them both on the bench.

The football isn’t the best so far.

It was so painfully obvious when Liverpool dropped points the other day that Arsenal would do the same today

Sancho and Rashford are showing us what we're missing here. We were mad to let both go

Hate those types of cowardly challenges from Cucurella. They should be punished more often, like in rugby.

If they were not in the title race at all, it makes that match against Chelsea look even worse. There wasn't even anything on the line.

What do you think now following that Arsenal result? Feels like a win tomorrow would finish it.

I don’t think Arsenal are winning at Forest. Their max is 89 if they win all of their games.
You don't even need a win tomorrow. A draw would be just fine. You've consistently stayed 7-9 points ahead of them since October or November. There's no reason to think you won't be able to at least match Arsenal's results from this point onward. Plus they've to visit Anfield. All hopes on PSG for now.

Yeah, we’re done. Our frontline was only barely good enough for a title challenge before we lost 2/3 of it, including our best forward by quite a distance in Saka.

It would have been a tall order with just Saka out, but with him, Havertz, Martinelli and Jesus all out long term, with two of them out for the season, we can’t cope.

Makes our summer transfer window annoying and our winter transfer window unforgivable.

This taking so long as per usual is just daft. It's obviously all onside.

Yeah I think the key has been that when we have dropped points, Arsenal have rarely if ever capitalised. They look lifeless up top and as leggy as we do.

They probably thought rashford still played for united so wanted to make sure

This rashford guy looks bright, let’s say 60 million for him?(our club would be the first team in just history to buy a player we already own
