F1 Season 2025

This comes after news that the Dutch GP has been cancelled and there hasn't been a German GP for a while now. Sad times for anyone living in those countries, especially us Dutchies.
There is still a rumor out there Hockenheim could make a comeback. The Nürburgring already shot down the possibility but between the two the former would probably make a lot more sense anyway.

Always had a soft spot for Hockenheim. Just miss the old layout where they would disappear into the forest before emerging back into the stadium complex

Ferrari winning the team rankings in 2025 and even hiring a past-it 40yo would be forgiven!

Why F40 and not F80 ? They hoping Enzo is looking at his last car or something:) ?

Let's hope he has a better time with them than Fernando or Seb.

So glad he's gone back to the yellow lid, looks fantastic against the red.

Formula 1 drivers face race bans if they repeatedly swear or criticise the sport's governing body under new rules introduced this year.

Changes to the FIA's sporting code for the 2025 season codify the steps to a potential race ban for drivers deemed guilty of such offences.

They mean that if a driver commits three such offences they are at risk of a "one-month suspension plus deduction of championship points".

Toto and Horner will be donning their race suits at this rate.

I wish the likes of Senna or Schumi were about to really tear into this organisation. Prost and Seb should be doing a lot more of it. Could have Pique as spokesperson to press home the point.

It will be a revolution if they ban a driver because he said" fia are massive cnuts".

Oh FFS. The FIA are a shambles. MBS is a dictator. They're now just trying to scare the drivers into shutting their mouths because nobody is going to risk a one month ban. Except Max of course

His favourite car apparently. I know he has to say something like that, but its a lot more believe when said car is an F40.

Ferrari improved last year. If they continue on that path he could definitely challenge. But it all depends on what Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes do as well of course.

It has a literal ton of downforce. Not that it's owners or I will ever experience that, but it's awesome in it's own way.

In a supposed road car it’s pointless and stupid. Impressive feat of engineering? Maybe, but does anyone really give a toss about the F80? Same for the similar McLaren I can’t remember the name of.

Ferrari haven’t made a great car for ages, and I say that as someone whose answer to what would you do if you won the lottery was always “drive straight to the Ferrari dealership”.

They need to improve their strategists but hopefully!

I'm not greedy, I'll take one win for Hamilton at Ferrari....if its Monza.

Obviously I hope for wins and a championship fight but I also have to accept he's 40, his prime is behind him but he's still capable of magic a handful of times a season. It's just going to be a cool season to watch I think, particularly if the order isn't shaken up too much and we don't get a dominant rocket ship from one team.

The F40 is a bunch of tubes with a v8 and turbos. Impressive feat of engineering?

In 20 years time people will tell us the f80 was the last great ferrari ;). Compared to the SF90 it actually looks good too (though you'd have to respray or wrap that front panel)!

Why does it feel like Lewis to Ferrari is like Schwein or Case at United. Big money move for a legend but unlikely to re-create the same magic as they did elsewhere?

I know you’re not seriously questioning the impressiveness of the F40 for its era so I’m not even going there

Perhaps in 20 years they will, but given the way cars are going it won’t be much of a statement sadly.

Off the top of my head I can’t think of a truly awesome Ferrari since the 458?

La Ferrari looked nice to me, but it's all in the eyes of the beholder. I like the Roma too.

The F40 is a legend, but as much for all the stuff it doesn't have as for the stuff it did have. I honestly don't buy into this "cars keep getting worse" story though. I remember cars being fast if they went to 100kmh in under 10seconds, remember what driving cars that get blown off the road from a bit of wind from the side was like, and headlights where you hardly saw anything beyond 75m or so. Cars are a lot better now than when I was a kid, which wasn't even that long ago. There's just more and more of the so called "special" cars, which makes stuff like the F80 less appealing.

However, if I had been Lewis, I'd have gone with the F40 too. But if I was in charge of Ferrari I would have wanted the current car in that.

Well I mean he is 40, this is obviously his last team/seasons. We haven't seen a race winner age 40+ since Mansell in 1994, hell there aren't many winners past 37!

He won two races last year and I'm not making excuses for him but the car clearly wasn't one he gelled with very well, its working window was about as narrow as it gets. We won't really know anything until we get into the meat of the season, if the car is quick then Lewis will be too, no doubts. LeClerc/Hamilton is the strongest pairing on the grid now, I think Hamilton arriving is great for LeClerc and brings a different dynamic and perhaps one Ferrari has lacked since Alonso.

Does this make Hamilton the #1 driver or has he accepted that LeClerc will be Ferrari #1 until he leaves/ fades?

I would expect he thinks its equal footing unless the other needs to start supporting for a title shot.

LaFerrari came out before the 458.

The modern car complaint isn’t so much a general “back in my day” type thing, I just think the poster cars these days are wholly impracticable and unusable, and not even in the sense of you can’t get near the limits on the road; non professionals aren’t getting anywhere close to extracting the potential of these things. Not that most of them will do more than a few hundred miles anyway.

Anyway my shouting at clouds is way off topic apologies :)
