F1 2024 Season

Surely Max would be staying and Red Bull will get someone else in very good to run the team. Not sure I get the logic of several mentions of Max jumping ship to Merc after this Horner news.

I mean sure, if the Red Bull cycle ends, Newey leaves and Merc get back to the top in a few years.

Wonder if they could get Brawn out of retirement to replace Horner if he goes. Not many people around within F1 IMO.

There’s no way Max is jumping ship whilst Newey is still around, it’s like having a cheat code when you have got him sat in the factory drawing up your next upgrade.

I don’t think it’s any secret that max is much closer to newey and marko than to Horner.

Yes I think so too.

What could make the dominoes fall is Newey leaving if maybe Horner his old pal leaves. Newey did try to retire but came back if I recall and has since posted some regret at not working at Ferrari and with other top drivers so perhaps he could have a chance before he's too old and go to Ferrari.

Will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Would be good to see the back of him, as he appears to be so unlikable. I don't think it would actually change anything at Redbull though, nor push Max to make a decision either way. As long as they can develop the best car, Max isn't going anywhere.

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is conducting an audit of the 2022 edition of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix, following allegations of corruption against former transport minister S. Iswaran.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) is also reviewing the terms of the deal between STB and Singapore GP to organise the F1 night race here, to safeguard Singapore’s interest, said Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu in Parliament on Feb 5.

Dutch publication De Telegraaf first reported the investigation. Horner has denied any wrongdoing, and the complaint is allegedly about his aggressive management style.

I figured this would be the case. He's a cnut but never struck me as a sexual creep.

are red bull later than everyone else so horner can take more photos on it?

A statement from Red Bull Austria - the Austrian energy drinks firm which owns the F1 team - confirmed a probe was ongoing. It said: 'After becoming aware of recent allegations, the company initiated an independent investigation. This investigation, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialised lawyer.

'The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be complete as soon as practicable. It would not be appropriate to make any further comments at this time.'

Confirmation of the probe on Monday follows 36 hours of denials from the team based in Milton Keynes of any alleged wrongdoing. Horner has also described the accusations as 'nuts', in a message protesting his innocence to MailOnline.

According to Horner loyalists, he is the victim of an internal fight within the broader Red Bull family.

Once protected by Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, the claim he is now exposed to forces out to do him down since Mateschitz died in October 2022, aged 79.

Horner's defenders say the accusations are smears aimed at unseating him from power in an attempt to wrest control to Salzburg, the home of the fizzy drinks company that lends its name to the F1 team – the dominant force of the current era with Max Verstappen winning the last three world titles.

Genuinely think if Horner goes that team could unravel.

Newey is getting on and although red bull pretty much let him do what he wants he has nothing left to achieve there.

He's always wanted to work at Ferrari but retirement or stepping away from F1 altogether could easily be his next step. From what I understand he is pretty close with Horner and hasn't been afraid to walk away from winning teams in the past when things he didn't like happened (mansell and hill being let go at Williams without his say, Ron Dennis playing politics at McLaren).

DRS activation to change and power unit allocation to increase
To try and encourage more overtaking the F1 Commission announced that DRS [drag reduction system] overtaking would be activated after one lap of a start or restart, rather than after two laps as had previously been the case.

Alongside that, with the F1 calendar expanding to a record 24 races, an approval to increase each driver’s power unit allocation from three to four has happened for 2024 and 2025, before the sport’s reset in engine regulations in 2026.

The Williams looks good, but is completely overshadowed by the Sauber. The green looks great.

Unfortunately lots of black seems to be thing with most cars on the grid these days :(
Yeah everyone's weight saving. FIA should have been smart enough to nip this in the bud last year when these partial carbon liveries started showing up, now its like 60% black or something

Agreed. Though id love a team paint their car in vanta black for shits n giggles.

Seems like serious shit stirring from inside the RB corporation.
Hasn't there been reports of a power struggle between a few of them up top in that team for a while? I think they just want him out. Saying that I think Jonathan Wheatley will be a good replacement if it's true he could take over.

hearing set for friday. he’s toast.

Again not saying Horner is innocent (or guilty for that matter) - but this type of shit unfortunately is so common at the tops of organizations when power struggles happen. Everyone has skeletons in their closet, especially the closer to the top you get - it's just a matter of when some parties decide they don't care about protecting you and feel secure in having support around them to protect their own skin. Everyone knows that being able to protect yourself against claims of harassment and discrimination is neigh impossible these days. There were long rumors of power struggles within RB even before Dieterich's passing.

If Horner does get the sack as it looks like some of the higher ups in the European side of the operation want him out, how long will Fred vasseur last at ferrari, because it would be a no brainer and hilarious to see Hamilton being bossed by Horner

The investigation into Red Bull team principal Christian Horner reportedly centres around his aggressive management style.
If this is the case and its what I have read from a few outlets, would this be enough to be sacked ?
I am no fan of his, but I suspect we have all worked for manager that has been aggressive and wanting results, arsehole yes, but cant deny he gets results.
