There’s literally no reason why a red lap on flag one can’t be such that drivers have to continue on the same tyre for the restart. It should be like that at any time but at least a red flag in the first lap or two should ban tyre changes.

Qualifying lap times were 1.10. They are lapping at 1.20-1.21. Even with fuel that’s just pathetic.

The reason it’ll remain on the grid is because people like Mbappe are probably in the bottom half of wealthiest punters at the race.
This is purely a circuit issue in this case though. Drivers are so disincentivised to lose positions through pit stops that you get this garbage.

I think Max is kinda hoping the likes of Tsunoda keep going slowly, bag a free stop, do fastest lap and then see if he can catch and take the Mercs on old tyres.
