F1 2024 Season

This qualifying has been genuinely pathetic. These cars are clearly too difficult to drive in the rain. Yes the drivers should be able to tone it down to keep it on track, but something is going wrong if drivers need to drive so far within themselves to keep the cars on the track.

I have at least 200 posts complaining about Max and I am the most vocal about this. Just saying.

Don't kid yourselves, if they go off like this in qualifying and the conditions don't significantly improve we will get 0 laps of actual racing.

Yeah immediate Red Flag wasn't going to save him. There was like a minute and a half on the clock when the yellows came out.

It's just poor management from Red Bull to leave it so late

I don’t mind Max, think he’s a great driver, but it is. It’s not always going to go your way.
I am not a Max fan but I do genuinely dislike inconsistency in regulations and application of rules. And me finding it funny will no doubt get misconstrued as some kind of Hamilton fan club view, but the reason i find it funny was because it was all entirely fine when the FIA did everything possible to make Max the F1 golden boy. And so it’s particularly hilarious because the shoes on the other foot now and the hypocrisy is not even trying to be concealed.

Alonso and Sainz are both very good drivers, if they are going of then I’d suggest it not a driver issue but a car design issue, or just the weather/track conditions.

And it’s meant to rain again shortly. The advantage of the race is once you get a few consistent laps in, the track inherently clears. But the way these cars are behaving, would we manage to get more than 2/3 laps without a safety car or red flag?

It’s definitely the cars. One or two drivers crash, sure, they pushed the limit. But just watch how Alonso’s car went off. 0 ability to react to that. That’s fundamentally a car design issue.

Yeah, if Red Bull complains about it, I’d love it (a keegan special) for a reporter to be brave enough to ask them how they felt when they changed the rules for them back then.

Yes, Fernando going off like that will have made everyone take note.

Yeah this is too many. F1 cars should be able to drive in these conditions but evidently are not.

On a serious note, I am glad that no one has been genuinely hurt so far.

I just hope it stays that way. These cars are death traps on the rain.

I know people are saying they don’t cause red flags on purpose but driving above the limit and putting it in the wall is by definition causing a red flag on purpose, they can always decide to drive slower and keep it on the tarmac.
