F1 2023 Season

Worst possible place and if the engine just broke and can't turn to neutral, then they can't move the car.

It's not the worst place, because the gate is just behind him, but yeah, he is stuck in gear.

Pressure mounting for Sainz surely.

Guessing there will be fines for the teams where mechanics got onto the grid before the gate was opened?

Imagine being Lawson. Come in as a replacement. Immediately thrown into the mess that was Zandvoort. Now this.

Calling it now. Saint to get spun out on first chicane. Verstappen to escape the carnage, race restart with verstappen on pole. Verstappen to cruise to victory.

Big gamble for Lewis on hards, going long and getting the degradation expected, could back fire
Just trying to do anything different as that car has little chance of gaining places through pure pace on this track.

Find this behind the scenes/background info really interesting

Didn't know they had to go through the gears again on the formation lap even though they've already done one

Albon returns his position, Hamilton and Alonso lost one position each, right?

Ferraris tyre deg will ruin them in the end but this has been a mighty impressive weekend by Sainz.
Carlos in general to me always gets too much grief. Yes im aware of his family politics, but on track its not like Charles ever really demolished him. In fact -its been fairly evenly matched for most of his time at Ferrari. Somehow the narrative exists though that he is shit.
