F1 2023 Season

I meant red bull during mercs dominance not now.

I would say as f1 fans we want close racing and excitement? Watching one team (well, one driver) drive off into the distance is the opposite of that, no matter who it is.
Oh yeah definitely, it's not fun for the fans, which is why I'm not watching this season anymore.

Don't care if people think it's boring - I want to see Max break as many records as he can. I believe watching these dominant athletes/teams is something that inspires more kids in particular to get interested into doing it themselves than one off wonders. For us adults that is a bit different obviously. Only major issue with racing is how much less accessible of a sport it is due to the costs involved.

What the feck happened to Williams, Albon is very good. Russel set a good lap too.

Max was very mixed today, I would say it was the weakest qulifying weekend from him if not for that last mega lap.

Despite being his fan, Leclerc is having very disappointing season, I think with Ferrari's downfall he started sleeping too, he hasn't had impressive races in a while.

Half a second quicker!

The man is a machine. Love seeing Lando continuing his good form. Little disappointing to see Piastri down in 8th, but not a disaster. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Max will win tomorrow.

Massive fan of Albon. The man deserves a better car.

Leclerc is not an elite driver, IMO. Very good, but not in that tier.

It's hard to tell if it's just the broadcasts not including messages or whatever, but he seems to have just given up.

I dont think we can judge Leclerc too harshy, any driver would struggle with a car that randomly oversteers or understeers into the same corner on different laps. It makes it incredibly difficult to have any confidence and really push.

How Ferrari still havent managed to figure out the underlying issue is strange. It maybe a fundamental flaw in the car that can only be fixed with next seasons car.

Not as bad as the ferrari issue, the mercs have an issue with corners when hitting the apex, theres a deadness to the car which means their drivers dont know if the car will stick to the apex line or understeer. This then causes issues with confidence going into the corners.

Basically, we arent really seeing leclerc/sainz/russell/hamilton go 10/10ths and really push, as they dont have the confidence in the cars. This is making the gap bigger to the RBs.

Theres talk of him partnering leclerc in the future, especially if Sainz has as rumoured commited to Audi for 2026.

Oh, I'd be down for that. I rate him above Sainz anyway. That would be a very strong pairing at Ferrari if that happened. He's only 27, too, which caught me off guard.

Seems to be this for a few seasons now.

Thats abit harsh on him.

Leclerc on this seasons ferrari

“In Formula 1 it’s all about anticipating and knowing what balance you are going to get once you get into the corner,” he said.

“But at the moment I’m getting into the corner and I have zero idea whether I’m going to have huge understeer, huge oversteer, and that makes it very, very difficult for us.”

Which is why i dont think Ferrari, Mercedes, Mclaren, AM will be able to close the gap to RB by the end of the 2025 season.

These teams are still playing catchup and trying fo understand this seasons car and RB started working on the 2024 RB a few months ago. The headstart they have is insurmountable under the cost cap.

I have in-law duties today, hopefully will catch some of the race.

if you force them to race around the kitchen, putting one of them in clogs and allowing them to cheat, you’ll not be missing much.

It doesn’t even put it into genuine perspective as Max went earlier on damper track.

If Max crossed the line when Russel did, there was probably a few tenths more grip out there.

How come no one is saying "It's the car" for Max ? . That redbull car is ridiculously fast

Found the section on Lewis' kit very interesting, would have liked to see more things like that - do their helmets have to pass safety standards? Was surprised how flexible the sides were surely they can still whack their heads against the sides so would have thought the whole thing would have to be rigid

Is there any chance of rain in the race or are we just going to be watching the race between the others as Max just disappears into the distance?

Just turned it on, doesnt look wet, so max will lap the entire field by lap 5.

Edit: totto just said 25mins of rain coming

Erm mediums for Lewis is an interesting strategy when they’re expecting rain? Surely he’s going to have less grip than everyone around him

Why on earth is Hamilton not pitting ?! Madness.

Ferrari being Ferrari

Ferrari are so bad. It's almost impossible to make as many mistakes as they do
