Meh, Max wins with ease in the end.
Race decided by VSC and SC.
Russel made the right call and Mercedes said yes.

They fecked up. I don’t think there’s a grand conspiracy here
Then what are you arguing about? feck me. It was either pit neither if you think there’s a chance he wouldn’t pass both - which it turns out there was zero chance - or you pit both.
The call was leave out both to try and win. Or pit both.
I think the mistake by Mercedes was probably not informing Hamilton that Russell was going in for softs so he couldn't make an informed decision on his own tyres.
Except for going for the 2 stop?…They did everything right. Strategically majestic
OR PIT BOTH. Are you being deliberately obtuse? Either they felt they could win - if so they had to leave both out. They had zero chance to win thus they had to pit both. The option they took - to pit only Russell should not have been an option. It meant zero chance of the win and left Hamilton out there to dry.No one is arguing ffs The only strategy was to pit for new softs. You said there was other calls, there wasn't.
Leaving both out and trying to win was never an option which is the point I was contending. The only option was to pit both. Mercedes didn't go this and only went with one call, and the results speak.
Russell's call was last minute in the pits, Hamilton was past the pit box when Russell decided to come in. There was never an opportunity to make a call.

Yeah I think we now areDon’t really want to get involved, but it looks like you’re both saying the same thing???

Merc showing that sometimes they are just as bad as Ferrari when it comes to strategy.
Not a lot will be said about that restart, Max reaction was brilliant and he was close to Hamilton even before that last corner and using DRS. Once again showing he is easily the best driver on the grid.
I don't think Hamilton will be proud of that restart.
Hardly the majestic win Horner is saying it was.
George driver of the day for me.
Please, his car is super quick, we saw what happens when he's got real competition last year.
But it was proven the one stop from medium to hard was the fastest strategy, because of the pace of the hard tyre? Max would have been in trouble if there were no SC’sNo because Ferraris were 2nd and 3rd on soft tyres. Going for a 1 stop would have been idiotic

Think this is a bit harsh on Charles, who has more than proven he has the pace to compete with max, shame his team are all potato’sMax could have 10 titles really if he plays his cards well. I don't see any other driver who is close to him once Lewis retires.
Bold call and if he does fair play to him, but to win 10 close to impossible I think, but I think he will equal Lewis.Max could have 10 titles really if he plays his cards well. I don't see any other driver who is close to him once Lewis retires.
And let them know.Lewis knows his team have let George’s call stuff him
There's nothing to sat about the restart, it wasn't ever going to be a competition. Hamilton was a sitting duck, a Red Bull on brand new softs vs Mercedes on used mediums isn't a contest.
Hamilton made a it of a mess of it, agreed. It wouldn't have affected the race, but he should have waited until the last second to accelerate to avoid giving Max a tow.
They can’t warm the tyres up. Russell almost got passed by le clerc on a new set of softs - Hamilton had zero chance against that red bull on old mediums. Not a lot will be said about that restart, Max reaction was brilliant and he was close to Hamilton even before that last corner and using DRS. Yep, accelerating in the corners while Max is on softs was really amateur stuff. And from what I can remember before Hamilton was always good on restarts.
DOTD is just a popularity contest, it’s a load of bollocks
Understatement of the yearHorner has never been one for humility, but I can't believe Max got DOTD. His was a solid drive today, but he took the fastest car by a mile from 1st to 1st, assisted by a perfectly timed safety car, hardly earth shattering stuff.
Russell was far more deserving (as would Lewis have been if Mercedes had given him softs at the end).
He needs to accelerate to generate heat in the tyres to warm up a harder compound, it's an amateur view if you don't understand the difference between the compounds at a restart.
