He already admitted that he no longer pushes the car as hard as possible because there’s no real point and he just wants to complete each race and get back to his family.

Yeah he was just 0.050 off after first two sectors, George was quite a bit slower though.

George never got a chance on a new set, would have been interesting.
Hes now driving a car that has gone completely away from his style of driving. Very pointy front end. With sergio we are back to the same situation as gasly and albion. The RB is setup and developed for maxs preferred driving style which doesnt suit the no2 driver. Sergio has to adapt, tough shit.

Yes hes slow because the car doesnt suit his characteristics of driving. You cant drive a car fast that doesnt suit your driving style and doesnt give you confidence.
Also perez is a test mule at the moment. Hes running a more experimental floor this weekend than max.
I think leclerc likes the car to be quite pointy as well. Other than lewis and leclerc im not sure. Russell definately not, as hes a smooth driver in the same vein of jenson button. Sainz and Alonso also similar to russell in style. Lando i'm not sure as mclaren are weird. They dont tend to build a car to suit a particular driver but expect their drivers to adapt to the car. Piastri apparently according to the f2 and f3 teams is one of the most adaptable drivers they have come across. So he could do really well at mclaren.
If RB are to do a Mercedes and dominate for a few years they defiantely need a no2 who can deive in the simialr style to max and score lots of points regularly. No idea who that could be realisitically. Shame vettel didnt get his chance to return to RB. Would have been interesting to see how quick he would be against max in a rocketship redbull.
There will be limited overtaking tomorrow, the start and any irregular excessive tyre wear will decide the race.
Super interested to see how Red Bull get on with Tyre deg, max was saying yesterday after one push lap he didn’t have any grip on the softs (although if memory serves me right, he actually put in a very good lap with “no grip”)
feel it could play in to mercs hands, they’ve been pretty good on tyre deg this year.

I just left the Netherlands last night. Atmosphere was amazing in Amsterdam. Was heartbroken having to leave.
