Got to assume he is off to McLaren
WTH.. Never thought I'd read like an academy driver put out a statement like that.. Woah

Bring Cyril back to complete the cycle?Big respect to Piastri. Alpine thought they could juggle both him and Alonso without giving either assurances. Now it looks like Alpine will be the ones left holding the bag. 2020 throwback line up of Danny Ric and Ocon??

Meanwhile this guy knew something..
He hasn’t officially started race with a Honda PU. He got benched in the 1st mclaren honda season for Alonso. He did take part in qualifying though, but had engine failure before the start of the race. What about K Mag. I think he has already done it before Alonso. Correct me if I am wrong.
Honestly doesn’t seem that unlikely.Riciardo to Haas
So cool.
That sub is great.
They have got no footage, it's all unfolding during the summer break, all they have is Will Buxton doing a voice over some tweetsNetflix must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Alpine couldnt sign Piastri, and [ dramatic pause] a F1 team needs to have two drivers."When a driver starts talking to other teams, as a team that's not good"
I thought he was a Renault academy driver, damn that isn't a good look all round.
Gasly if RBR release him might want a go in the Alpine. But where does that leave RIC? Either Alpine or AT, I don't think RBR will move Perez on. He should've never left RBR.
I mean, if it expired and was not explicitly activated, it should surely be pretty black and white.Alpine reckon he's contractually obligated to race for them next season, he reckons that clause expired a couple days ago before Alpine activated it. I wonder if this one will get messy.

Thats a shitty way of finding out.Yup you would imagine so. Will be interesting to see if this gets messy legally, or if it ends up just being a nothing burger. Someone is getting their head chewed off at Alpine right now.
Otmar finding out about Alonso leaving via the press release being like 'ok 2 can play that game'
Piastri better have a drive lined up for next season otherwise hes really shot himself in the foot. Some unfounded rumours he will go to mclaren.
They're all in on this together, Riccardo has an option to renew his contact by another year but that clause ends at the end of this month, Webber knows he's not staying at Mclaren which opens up a spare which he must have secured for Piastri before any of this kicked off.Piastri better have a drive lined up for next season otherwise hes really shot himself in the foot. Doesnt Mark Webber represent both Piastri and Riccardo? Awkward...
Lastly, a Horner quote when alpine was renault but it still rings true. "Renault want a world class operation but are only prepared to pay for economy..."
Thats now riccardo, alonso and rookie piastri walking away from Alpine (renault). Hmmmm......
certainly makes sense for Ricciardo to head back to Alpine. He did pretty well there which is why his time at Mclaren is so contusing. They're all in on this together, Riccardo has an option to renew his contact by another year but that clause ends at the end of this month, Webber knows he's not staying at Mclaren which opens up a spare which he must have secured for Piastri before any of this kicked off.
But he was also simultaneously held responsible for systematic failures of the FIA, for the ambiguous outdated rule book, for the inconsistent stewards and for the lobbying team bosses. Compared to all of that one split second decision made with good intentions is nothing. Perfectly scapegoated.
Such a groundhog day subject this, for some.
Didn't Masi have alot of influence in the outcomes of the subsequent failings?Oh, he obviously made a horrible error of judgment and failed to follow the rules, so was rightly sacked. Its just easy to use him as a convenient scapegoat though, when there were other subsequent failings which arguably could have put right his errors.
Masi was undoubtedly a big part of the problem. If you are arguing that the FIA or even Liberty should also take some responsibility for the monumental error in handing Max the championship last year, then I agree. But he was also simultaneously held responsible for systematic failures of the FIA, for the ambiguous outdated rule book, for the inconsistent stewards and for the lobbying team bosses. In that sense the issue has not been fully resolved so you will get fans (and Redcafe posters) bringing up this subject until some sense of resolution has occurred.
Calling it "Groundhog Day" makes it sound like you just want to sweep it under the carpet and forget about it.
I'm not expecting a resolution because the FIA and Liberty media are trying to do the same as you are. Bury it, forget about it and move on until a similar debacle occurs. What resolution are you expecting yet?

What benefits are you expecting by trying to sweep last season debacle under the carpet?
I think if Ric goes to Haas, it’s more likely that K Mag rather than Schumacher goes to Alpine in my opinion.
