F1 2021 Season

I haven't watched F1 much, but that's the first time I've ever seen 5 cars unlapping. Is that a normal occurrence ?

FIA won them this Championship. Been in Red Bulls pocket all season how could Lewis compete against that?

Well done Verstappen. Great driver no end of talent but this Championship will always have an asterisks on it.

Doesn’t really feel like real sporting ending. Compare it to the Cricket World Cup final and it’s just so fabricated.

Decisions made and changed on a whim.

Verstappen deserved this. Mercedes can do one. Feel sorry for Lewis but i just cant take Mercs arrogance

Joke of a finish.

Out of interest why wasn't every car that was lapped not required to go passed the safety car, but only the ones between Max and Hamilton?

I don't understand why they didn't let them all through though, that's what the rules are? It was very strange.
Yeah I just realised they did that. Its crazy

Can somebody explain in layman’s terms what the furore is?

Only 5 lapped cars were let through (not all the lapped cars) and usually you let them get round the track to the back of the pack before the race restarts. Instead, the race director just let 5 cars through, precisely the number between Lewis and Verstappen, and then restarted the race.

That's farcical. How can he let 5 cars un-lap but not the rest? Anyone says that they haven't given the championship. This has to go to the court of sports arbitration.

It's quite simple really...

Lewis had won the race until the FIA set it up so that Max was on fresh tires for one last lap right behind Lewis... Any racing driver in any formula could have won that from Max's position.

Perfect, thanks!

I mean, in the end they made the right decision. Why they originally announced that lapped cars won't be allowed to overtake is anyone's guess.

I don't think they made the right decision though. They made the decision that would allow that last lap showdown to happen.

For the drama yes, but for fairness no. And that's the problem with F1 and why it doesn't hold attention when they get it, there's just too much off track shite that ruins the actual sport.

Fair fecks to Max though, he's champion. I hope he becomes likeable and doesn't continue for the next 10 years being a prick like Hamilton has been.
