F1 2018 Season

I know but i dont think Vandoorne is that talented to give that 2nd seat. Is Lando Norris as good as LeClerc or just another guy?
He's highly rated but it's no guarantee obviously.

Which old days are those? I have being watching F1 for over 40 years and apart from two or three years when Mansell was racing I don't remember much excitement.

Maybe he refers to 60's or 70's. 00's basically is boring as feck with Schumi's dominate. Earlier 10' just the same with Vettel's and now Hamilton.

Poor Vettel, he must be so depressed right now. The season had started so well for him and now it has gone tits up again.

Yeah, it looks like his race is over, he'll be 4th, you can understand the frustration, a lot of things went against him this last 2 races (even 3 with the Verstappen hit that cost him at least a Podium).

F.e. When you had to put fuel on as well. Now it's almost pointless to have pit stops. Qualifying system was much more exciting when it was just 60 min and everyone could be out at the same time in the last minute.

Rules changing every year makes it even more boring

Easy win for Merc, but I am sure that was ll down to the rubber
You honestly think that didn't play a part? When did the mercs ever look so good this season before today? And the ferrari so slow?

Fuel stops definitely change the dynamics a hell of a lot when it comes to setting up the car. Most of the 'overtaking' was still done in the pits though.

Lewis has been truly outstanding today it has to be said. Max over 20 seconds faster than Ricciardo, bit lucky with Kimi but well done considering the damage. Vettel looked like he gave up, would it be fair to say he sometimes looks like a different breed chasing compared to when he's leading a race?

Of course it did. it wasn't intentional from Pirelli, they did changes like that before, in 2011 and 2012 but it definitly helped Mercedes this race. what's baffeling is that the commenters from sky spent the whole of yesterday's qualifying talking about Ferrari's mirror and other ridiculous things but didn't talk about the tyres change once. they didn't even discuss it.

I have no idea what they did made that much difference.
Max said the only took 0.4mm of tread, would it change how the cars work that much ?

I said before the season we'd know more about which team is ahead after the Spanish GP but I'm as confused as ever. Obviously there's change in tread gauge that Pirelli made but even then from Friday to Sunday Merc found shed loads of time, some of it can be apportioned to setup changes but the impact of lower temperatures and a green track swung it 180 degrees into their favour. I have never seen a qualifying where teams actually go quicker on the slower tyre either.

It appears we've gotten into this situation where Pirelli can pick and choose tyres to artificially impact the title battle, the FIA will be delighted.

Mercedes tyres during Barcelona test. Don't tell me they didn't get helped

Also being italian doesn't help. We are just so powerless in every department. If we try to complain they say we cheat and can only complain.

Ah Santi in fine form I see:lol::lol: You're so funny:D

Just listening to that extended interview from Lewis - what a winner. Always working, always pushing. Not getting ahead of himself. That little man has a lot of steel underneath. Incredible will to win and do it well.
That's what I like from my favourite sportsmen and women.

Monaco sounds like it will be interesting listening to all the talk. Sounds like Red Bull will be the team to beat there..

Who cares? Ferrari is out from the title race for another season.

Everyone calling Pirelli "cheaters" on their Twitter account

There is gonna be a meeting with the teams to discuss this "Pirelli gate" and see if to confirm the new tyres in France and the UK as well in the next days.

Pirelli has fecked it up in style.

Romain Grosjean will serve a three-place grid penalty at the Monaco GP for triggering the multi-car crash at the Spanish GP.
3 place drop ! Not enough, I thought 5 or even 10 place drop was minimum he should have got.

Not gonna watch the next races because i don't want to suffer and post shit here. See you guys.

Insert praying emoji here.

Only joking.

Your strops and bitching are on the most consistently funny things in here. It's like what my 4 year old would be like if he was on a forum and someone said he couldn't be Sky or Marshal when playi paw patrol.

Everyone was calling rashford "finished" in Twitter earlier.

Maurizio Arrivabene: "No one told us about the news tyres. They just gave us a little information about it".

Toto is a liar and a cnut.

Well, what did you expect after Verstappen can do what he wants on the track? This F1 is a joke.

Arrivabene said Ferrari were [informed] of the tyre changes but never [consulted] about it

"I think it’s pretty straightforward, the tyres are different but they’re different for everyone so everyone needs to cope with that,” Vettel said. “I think it was exceptional that Mercedes was struggling in the last events as much as they were, but thinner thread means basically the tyres are harder.

“We still have the same tyres if you look at the colours but they’re harder than they’re used to be. As I said, it’s the same for all of us."

Haven't seen anything from anyone involved in Ferrari actually criticising Pirelli's decision and there is literally zero evidence to support the conspiracy theory that Mercedes and Toto Wolff are responsible for the decision which seems to have just been a logical response to the track being resurfaced. The whining from Ferrari fans over this is truly pathetic.

Ferrari wants to make a big deal of the fact *they* aren't criticizing Pirelli, only their fans are...

Arrivabene's interview on sky was pretty easy to read. Ferrari won't officially complain or criticize the choice...but they sure as hell aren't happy about it and will let their fans do it for them
