That was a much better lap, he will start the race on softs with only 2 laps on.
not sure he was , think Merc were trying to hoodwink Ferrari and it worked.Q2: Hamilton, Bottas, Raikkonen and Vettel.
FFS! Hamilton was hiding himself, then
Don't think Vettel and Raikkonen were even out on the track. Didn't see them on the tv.not sure he was , think Merc were trying to hoodwink Ferrari and it worked.
They went out on the ultras, but did not finish the lap, maybe blown away with Lewis's speedDon't think Vettel and Raikkonen were even out on the track. Didn't see them on the tv.
Both on ultras, would expect them to be faster that Lewis on the softs, but I agree Ferrari front row lock out I think.Kimi was purple in S1 and Seb in S2 before they boxed, should be an easy Ferrari 1-2 but if Lewis could get third that would be a decent save from a tricky day.
Ok. That's why i didn't themThey went out on the ultras, but did not finish the lap, maybe blown away with Lewis's speed
Ah cheers, thought they were on softs. Think they'll get more out of the ultras than the Mercs but that gives me a bit more hope. Both on ultras, would expect them to be faster that Lewis on the softs, but I agree Ferrari front row lock out I think.
I would let Kimi if he was first. The most important thing is to put Mercedes behind.Seb and Kimi , half a second faster than the Merc's.
Going to be an interesting race, track should be warmer for the race , but dont see that making any difference.
Lewis and Bottas fighting for 3rd.
Seb and Kimi fighting for the win , team orders and a Seb win ?
Happened the same last week.Amazing pace from Ferrari. No-one expected them to be this far ahead of Mercedes but warmer conditions are expected for tomorrow and if Mercedes are as quick as they were in Bahrain it's going to be a very close race. Kimi though. How can you be purple in S1 and S2 and then mess it up in S3? He was looking so strong until the last moment.
Alonso out in Q2
Read that Red Bull should be really dangerous tomorrow. Besides, Verstappen starts behind LewisWoh, wasn't expecting that. China is normally such a Merc track. Ferrari seemed to have pulled out some real pace with those updates.
Feel a bit for Kimi, didn't see him make any mistakes in that last sector. Not sure how Vettel pulled that out of the bag.
The race tomorrow will be interesting. Red Bulls are always quick in the race, but they might be a bit too far off Ferrari's pace this time around. Hopefully they throw a spanner in Mercs plans
This year I think he's been generally the quicker driver of the Ferrari's but he misses something when it counts and Vettel is able to produce the goods at the crucial moments. Kimi was really unlucky last week and has more bad luck for some reason. Anyways looking really good for Ferrari.Happened the same last week.
I think with the change in weather , it will be between Merc and Ferrari , the Red Bulls will not get close enough.Read that Red Bull should be really dangerous tomorrow. Besides, Verstappen starts behind Lewis

Yep. It's a shame we haven't seen two of these three in the same team since Hamilton/Alonso 2007. Guaranteed there would be fireworks. It would bring back real excitement to F1 but teams want to keep their number 1 drivers happy. These three are in a league of their own in F1 when it comes to the finer details. They might have off weekends sometimes but they all have the X Factor and know what needs to be done to win. Hamilton is probably the quickest on raw pace, Vettel has a steely determination and incredible work ethic like his idol Schumi and Alonso maybe the most complete of them all but he's been handicapped by poor cars unfortunately. I don't think he's softened. Maybe his motivation has become less since he began exploring different series as he realises that his chances of winning in F1 are very slim but his level is still tier 1 with Vettel and Hamilton. Just hasn't been given the resources. Ricciardo has good race craft but I'm not sure he's world champion material. Same with Verstappen. He has a long way to go still but has time on his side.Vettel was complaining early in the season about the car not feeling right. I think this years car has suited Kimi driving style more than Vettel's but Vettel's shear determination has seen him pip Kimi when it counts. This is why Kimi isn't a number one driver IMO. I love him, I'm glad I saw him drive for Ferrari. But he just doesn't have that cutting edge that Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso (who seems to have softened a bit as well) and Ricciardo do. Verstappen needs to develop his race craft more before I put him in that category.
