Ever Banega

Where though? If Anderson has another one of "those" seasons, I doubt even us in our insane midfield position would keep him.

Andersons united career may not last and even if it does he might not improve you never know with a player but he could just as easily stay fit this season and get into a good rhythem.

He might leave and become a world beater somewhere else, we just don't know. IMO he remains a huge talent who is cabale of playing at the highest level. If he can focus that talent into consistent performances and stay injury free wherever he is he will be a fantastic player.

BTW how old is Banega I got 28 in my head is that right?

Bullshit. Think about it. Is it really easy to sell a player? No it's not. Is it very easy to buy a player? Nobe. Keeping him on wages and perhaps he'll be fit for most of the season is a low risk to take. Most of the cost has already been paid. Keeping him on isn't costly. He's never been more trouble than worth when he's playing. People like it when he starts. He's the best we've got next to Carrick when fit. We still have other options in that position but they aren't as good.
The reasons for keeping him very strongly outweigh the reasons for selling him and without any other club actually seeking out his employment it's a bit pointless to talk about selling him. I know that you specifically didn't say we should but you are guilty of jumping to simple conclusions too quickly.

I know he's a frustrating player but I'd rather keep him on and still cling to hope that he'll solve our midfield problems than not.

Whilst we're in the Banega thread, funny to compare the two. Banega has a problem with injuries as well and unlike Anderson he's had problems with attitude as well as stupidity. He can have all the talent in the world but without a proper head he'll never become more than a good player.

Yep, for five games in a season he's probably even better than Carrick. A not injured, fit and in-form Anderson is a very good midfielder and good enough to be a starter at United? But how many times does this happen in a year? Cleverley at best isn't as good as Ando at best, but he is more reliable and fitter than him. It is stupid to expect that Ando will ever leave his injury problems, and be fit and consistent for a big part of a season. This never happened in last five years and I haven't seen anything to suggest that it can ever happen.

To say Anderson has been far from good enough is a rediculous statemnt in itself. Say he has been inconsistent (Agreed) say he is injury prone (Agreed) but far from good enough. It's a silly statement.

With regards Banega, again i reiterate he is a good player but exceptional? really? He has had a couple of exceptional performances but if he was truely an exceptional performer then you would have seen him plucked by a bigger club long ago. Exceptional players always do.

Incorrect

He's a squad player. That's the best that's left of him unless he turns it around all of a sudden. Unless there's a decent bid for him or his contract is up, he'll remain here. At least he's good for morale. That's something he's got going for him. Few players are that jovial after being injured so much.

He has the Spanish technique along with the Argie fight - WANT.

The game where he dominated Barca (it may have happened more than once??) was one of the best things that I've seen on a football pitch in recent years.

Surprised Ekeke hasn't latched on to the latest from Marca

Banega is up for grabs

With his contract up in Summer 2015 his agent reckons Valencia would be better off selling now than at knockdown fees further down the line. Napoli said to be interested among "several interested clubs", that's all it adds up to.

I dont think we'll sign him thats why. As I said before I expect him to leave soon, he's better than Ander... But I think we'll go for someone else.

No chance we'll be interested.

I'd have to agree and for the right reasons. The potential is there for a phenomenal player but I think he's lacking a bit of drive.

Players like him can be found throughout football. On their day, they can be very good. They're just too inconsistent though. I've not seen much of him in a while but I've never really rated him. He's one of these names that the caf latches onto inexplicably, along with Gourcuff, Diego and Hamsik.

In the case of Banega though, his personality and off the pitch behaviour is enough to put us off. He's not good enough to justify putting up with the bullshit that comes with him.

Knowing that we tend to look at the background of players, a lot more than other top clubs, this guy will never sign us. I don't understand people who want Hamsik either and his crazy haircuts.

Good player, he doesn't get into to trouble on or off the pitch which is what counts.

Why would we want Hamsik? Defo not the answer to our problems.

We're seemingly in for Pjanic. How is Hamsik any different? They play similar roles. Perhaps Pjanic sits a bit deeper but Hamsik is capable of that role too.

The irony of someone who posted an Osman "joke" using that smiley!!!

:boring: at people on here taking stuff far too seriously. Saying Osman wasn't meant as a suicidal muppet comment or a funny joke, it was just a quick alternative way of asking "who do you have in mind?".

Whoever wrote that article ought to be embarrassed of themselves. How's he out of favour when he's started close to all the games? Talking about him being a defensive midfielder and pellegrini as Southamptons coach. A mess from start to finish.

Would be great to listen to us all complain when he frustrates. If we get his head right though... Which i believe Moyes can do, we would have a good player on our hands.

I can see him going to Napoli and competing with Inler and Behrami. Inter have been the most linked Serie A club over the years and again they are linked, but they arent any good so I can't see him going there. German clubs have long been linked with him. Premier league teams too, but often the stories are completely inaccurate paper rubbish. But I think he'd be a good signing for any of the top teams' midfield especially at a cut price. So far this season he averages 2.8 tackles per match, thats the same as Wanyama and just behind Scott Parker and Fernandinho both at 2.9. Barry is at 2.7 and its well beyond any of United's players who have played more than 1 match. Cleverley actually has the most tackles on average for us at 2.4

So thats one of the best things about Banega, he's not just an on the ball player he can also help win the ball back well.
