Do you want the ESL to happen?

That statement by Utd is interesting though, couldn't help but re-emphasize the challenges football is facing and they'll continue to work on "sustainable solutions".
The Utd and liverpool statements were short with a bitter undertone. Yanks are pissed.

What makes this even more farcical is that this is the second time this season that the yanks in charge of United and Liverpool have failed to read the room and had to withdraw a half-witted proposal after a brutal backlash.

Football is run so badly, it makes me furious. They have even managed to make UEFA and FIFA look like the good guys, which is not easy to do at all.

While all this was happening, the CL changes which make it very close to a super league anyway, have been approved. 100 more games. The Carabao Cup will end up being entirely for reserves.

Then we can all look forward to the continued shocking rollout of VAR and the world cup in fecking Qatar.

It’s incredible that they tried to pull this off behind closed doors, without at least consulting any of the playing staff or managers.

The leeches are fuming, you can smell it even through that twitter announcement. Absolutely devastated.

What has further disgusted me is both the Liverpool manager and captain have come out publicly against the Super League abomination. Jordan Henderson spoke on behalf of the players as a "collective position" putting pressure on the American owners. What about the United equivalents Ole and Maguire?? Absolutely nothing. Deafening silence.
How do you know what they did/said? Apparently plenty going on behind closed doors.

It was only 48 hours and at least Shaw posted before clubs changed their mind.

KdB, Sterling getting "oooh, you're great" tweets and posted after news broke City/Chelsea likely to pull out.

I can just picture how excited they were to surprise the fans with this great news of the ESL.

“You know what Ed, the fans are gonna be so stoked for this”

“I agree Joel, it’s about time we gave back to the football community”

Yeah, the new version of the CL looks like an absolute abomination.

Next up should be the CL changes. I think I've heard that they've now provisioned some clubs can get in just on merit of having a good record and not necessarily needing to qualify? If that's true it deserves a similar reaction to the super league.

This is next level of 'amateurish' from some of the biggest clubs in the world. Irony of ironies, club that comes out looking good from this is the biggest sugar daddy of them all. Go figure.....

Weren't Chelsea one of the first of the PL to reportedly jump ship, why are they the last to put out a statement?

Are Spurs saying nothing, hoping nobody will notice they’re still part of the Super League?

They've tweeted as well. Talking about wanting to be part of the process or whatever. Said sorry for the anxiety it caused. Posted earlier in this thread.
