Do you want the ESL to happen?

Will be a shame if this falls apart by teams chickening out and withdrawing.

This was a real opportunity for the government to get involved and get rid of all these cnuts who have bought English football clubs over the last 20 years.

You had me in the first half....

But yeah we shouldn't be surprised that Chelsea have shit the bed. Them, City and PSG don't need the money or the hassle.

I follow a couple of techies, who were all for this. "Disruptive" they said.

Capitalism at it's most transparent; "...the next generation of fans don't like the sport so we must change it for the survival of the game..."

Small side note, we just so happen to profit obscenely from the solution to this "problem".

Please guys, take this example and use it whenever some shitehouse company from silicon valley tries to tell you they're "disrupting" something
.

Agree

If our share price went up after the ESL news broke I can't imagine that it will be doing particularly well after this evening's shenanigans.

Yanks think about money first and foremost and think that others also only think about money. They'll never get it. Never.
Naive if you believe that.

Yanks as you put it have been sick to death of owners stripping towns and cities of their club identity and moving the franchises on. They are far more invested in their local college teams. Like us the real passion lies at grass roots level.

Money has no international boundaries, the wealth is concentrated among a few

How the feck are they going to backtrack on all the legacy fans stuff? The Glazers are DONE.
The same way they've ridden 16 years of saddling the club with mountains of debt and syphoning off millions in each of those years, by waiting for people (and especially the currently pearl clutching media) to inevitably get bored of protesting. Their family is set up for their lives and a dozen generations that come after them, off the back of this club, why would they give a toss about this now? Let alone enough to sell up and head back to the states for a penny less than the club's billions in market value.

yeah one relatively unknown Twitter user isnt enough for me to be convinced our shithouse owners won't be in this till the end

Ye seemed to be one user simply promoting herself. None Of the usual suspects have backed up that “insider knowledge “

Ornstein's as good a source as you're going to get in football journalism. Former head honcho at BBC sport, now with the Athletic.

you've missed the point, I'm talking about the girl who said we've pulled out

They didn't just propose it though, did they? They/people in their clubs were leaving organisations in preparation to begin this ESL.

I agree that this is likely what will happen but that's what I mean in terms of hoping they receive a bit more punishment. I don't think the fans will continue to punish them with voices of dismay, they'll forget about it next season.

Which is fair, so distributing more of the PL money to the rest of the footballing pyramid and away from these parasites - exactly what they were trying to get away from with this ESL - would be beautiful.

So yeah. You're just thinking of yourself.

Whatever happens the view of United as a club will be forever tainted as one of the key players in this abomination. Not until the Glazers are frogmarched out of the corridors of power.

Hats off to Chelsea fans for their protests today. And good that Chelsea are retiring.

Great respect to Bayern Munich and Dortmund who could see the wrong thing in this league from the beginning. I will forever have respect for them for their courage and insight to dare to say no and risk standing outside this league.

Excellent post.

That went well  feck you Perez, Glazers, Woodward, Agnelli and all other twats

The Government should not stop. Press on with the German model. To the Glazers: this isn't the end, you thought the horse has bolted but it has come back and kicked you in the nuts and bolted in the opposite direction.

So yeah. You're just thinking of yourself.

I didn't realise Everton were the only club in the footballing pyramid. They wanted to feck over every single club in England by doing this. The punishment can therefore reflect that.

They should have known once they included Spurs that this would end in a bottle job.

I hope the United fans never forget this. As far as I'm concerned its over for the Glazers and Woodward at this club. Hopefully people like Neville and Keane don't return to not talking about what they are doing to us. They crossed the line too far this time.

Very much. Do you have any doubts ? Seriously? The withdrawal is not due to the ban threat from uefa or PL but it's purely from fans protest.

... which was the entire point of my initial post.

They don't understand what "fan" means beyond the most basic/business simple reading of clicks and "engagement"

This is beautiful to see. Glazers next. Need to keep the momentum against them.

Hopefully the damage has been done and the government will be serious in its proposals to look at/reform the ownership of clubs.
They have to. It's not enough to push this problem away until another day. Everyone knows what kind of people are running our club and they need to be reigned in. Kicked out ideally but I'd settle for them being marginalised to the point of wanting out themselves.

Happy day in a lot of ways but we need to get these cnuts out of our club.
