Europa League 2011/2012

Inside the box, Falcao is a monster finisher.
23 goals in la Liga, 12 in the EL.Fantastic season

Thought they mentioned 33 in La Liga? Was commentating that he was only outscored by Ronaldo and Messi.

If there's another goal, I hope it goes Bilbao's way, just to keep the game close.

No, he has 23 goals in La Liga which makes him 3rd behind Messi and C. Ronaldo indeed, + 10 goals in EL before tonight, so 33 in all comps (35 now)

Courtois looking solid. Reckon he'll be on loan to a prem team next season.

WBA, perhaps? If they can't keep hold of Foster, they'll certainly be looking for somebody.

There's the promoted teams to think about as well.

Falcao is the kind of player who would rape defensive arses in the PL. If the supposed interest from Chelsea is true then he'd be the ideal replacement for Drogba.

Think the rumours to Chelsea were before he moved, can't see Atletico selling him for anything but an extortionate fee.

I shit you not in the RAWK Europa matchday thread they are having a serious discussion about who is better. Falcao or ............................................................. Carroll.

Well If I were them I'd rather pay an extra £3 mill for Falcao.

I agree. I think he would be class in the Premier League, and Chelsea are probably the team that need a player of his ilk the most out of the top teams.

Would probably be an instant hit at Spurs too when they inevitably lose Adebayor. Doubt they have the finances to afford the fee and salary he'd command though, even if they do qualify for the CL.

Just loaded a new stream. Who is the black pundit on Ten Action? He went absolutely mad about Falcao's goal, shouting that he was dribbling in the box and the only reason Lorrente hasn't scored a goal like that was that the centrebacks didn't let him.

Atletico paid 40 million Euros for him. God knows what they'd expect.

Yep, they pretty much spent the money given to them for Aguero. I'd think your looking £60 million plus given his record this season.

I missed the first goal though. Can someone post a link to it?

Just cutting and pasting from some guy on Twitter:

His clause is €60m but given Atleti's problems with tax, a sale for less than that looks increasingly likely.

One of Atleti's key men spoke on Spanish radio last night. They've paid €20m so far for him, two payments out standing.

Indeed. Also, importantly, he's not 100% Atleti's player. They sought funding from investment companies for him...

Well the buyout clauses are only active for other Spanish teams are they not? So they could charge what they like for other clubs, saying that if investment companies have got a share in him that will put out all english clubs after the Tevez debacle.

Someone said Falcao was one of the best headers of the ball in the world and the response is :

Behave. Carroll would have something to say about that statement, In the air there is hardly someone better in the world.

So 1 and a bit good games when they have nothing to lose makes him the best header in the world

I thought the fact that they are struggling with finances was more important. But yeah, I would assume that investment companies being involve could prove to be a stumbling block.

Well if they had any sense they'd look to sell some of the other big players first. Surely the likes of Turan & Adrian could fetch a good fee. Am I right in thinking Diego is only on loan?

Yes you're right about that. From Wolfsburg, I think!

I don't know about the others and how much they could possibly fetch, but I definitely agree that it would make sense for them to try and keep Falcao another season at least.

Athletic looking very toothless at the moment.
