Europa League 2011/2012

TBH I'm really surprised neither you lot nor Barca have tried to sign this guy so far. Or did you and he just declined to leave Bilbao?

I wouldn't be surprised if he would rather stay at Bilbao than coming to Madrid, being a Basque and all. I don't think we showed serious interest in him yet though. Barca could do well getting him I bet he wouldn't refuse the move either. Either way I don't think he can stay at Bilbao much longer, he's so fecking good.

Awful decision in the Atletico - Valencia game. Penalty given to Valencia for a handball which turns out to be a from a Valencia player. Uh oh handbags now

LLorente!

They'll win this cup.

Canales carried off on a stretcher. :(

Same knee as he damaged before. No word yet on the damage, but the Atletico players looked sorry for him as well as his teammates, so I'm guessing it looked bad.

Meanwhile - Gol - Llorente!

Llorente will be the summer's hot property. Seriously what a great striker he is, would be disappointed if we're not for him. His contract expires in 2013, and so far it looks he won't sign the new one.

Llorente has developed into the complete striker, his technique is great to see, they way he made the second Bilbao goal was silky and his winner was a classic #9 goal, I just hope City don't get him.

Really looking forward to May 9th. Was hoping for that final.

Athletic vs. Atletico

Lloriente vs. Falcao

Should be a cracking match between two very good teams, but in the end I think (and hope) Athletic snatches it. Weird as it may sound I developed a soft spot for them after the way they threw us out.

I'm really happy that Athletic Bilbao are in the final, because they've played so great football this season and it's always better to go out in a competition against a club which wins the competition in the end (except of Liverpool, Manchester City or Leeds).

I loved Llorente's assist last night!

Valencia have to be disappointed with their finish to the season, very very poor.

Llorente is amazing. 2 assists and scored the winner himself.

Probably the most complete striker. The physical presence of a target man and the technique of and eye of a playmaker.

I reckon if Bielsa really gets the Barca job he will follow him there.

The final is tonight.

Previously this season Bilbao have won 3-0 at San Mamés, with Llorente scoring two and Toquero scoring one. In the reverse fixture, Madrid won 2-1, with a brace from Falcao (he of the many goals in Europe) answered by a consolation from Martinez.
