Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

One thing that’s certain is it can’t get any worse than it’s been since Sir Alex retired.
We’ve allegedly already blown over £1billion on signings in 6yrs and for that, we’ve only managed to win a Europa cup.

I would like in no particular order

Conte
Pochetinno
Enrique
Simeone
Would be easy to argue that all of those are past their best. Not that that puts me off Enrique by the way, but I'm not sure he does better than what he did at Barcelona.

Whoever we bring in whether it be Ten Hag or Poch, they’ve still got their work cut out making a silk purse out of a sows ear with a motley crew of misfits and has beens.

Conte isn’t leaving Spurs. Poch apparently isn’t leaving PSG. Enrique certainly won’t leave Spain pre-World Cup & has previously joked about being linked with the club. Simeone simply wouldn’t work here but you could argue he’s done his best work at Madrid & would need a break afterwards. All to say, that’s not some unequivocal foursome.
If you survive without being injured you will feel better than anything.

That's a reward
Dumbstruck.

Yes, it is unprecedented to stay in the top 4 for around 4 or 5 years, mounting title challenges, in a league with financial doping competitors with a zero net spend.
Chelsea had a lower net spend than Poch at Spurs. He also challenged for the title in the same way Ole challenged last year.

No he didn’t, he challenged for the title in a way that a title challenger challenges for the title. Was right in the title race before Chelsea beat them at Stamford Bridge the year Leicester won it, which was close to the end of the season.

We better not be prioritising that clown Pochettino over Ten Hag, I swear if we bring in Pochettino and Declan Rice we’ll be paying for it for years to come..

Conte and simeone? Are you joking? You’ll be one of the first to moan when we’re playing boring dull football. Not a chance are we going to go down that route again. Mourinho was enough. The board have already said the objectives are to play fast attacking football. So there going to find a manager that plays that way. They haven’t brought in rangnick to try and implement a style and then bring in a manager that plays a completely different way.

They drew against Chelsea at the Bridge, and completely lost their heads while doing so. It was their last chance to actually challenge for the title, and they failed. They had been just one point behind Leicester at the end of February, before winning only four of the remaining 11 games. Calling that a title challenge is extremely generous, given how they kept choking at every opportunity to put pressure on Leicester in the run-in.

Is that what a title challenger does? Choke when they have the chance to go top, or completely lose their heads when the have a chance to put pressure on the leaders?

The game where they badly dropped momentum was West Ham away, day after Leicester drew at home to WBA

Ralf is lying (or I'm choosing to believe he is). He's just saying this to respect Ajax who are still in a title race and in the champions league.
Ralf is candid but he’s not stupid. Doesn’t make sense to have a media circus around a new manger when he still has a job to do.

Really hope they put away Benfica otherwise fear that Utd will be all in for Pochettino if PSG knock out Real.

Best scenario would be for Ajax to progress and psg to be knocked out, that would make united want ten Haag more surely? Or it could be a case of poch being sacked and united going for someone who will cost nothing which knowing our club is most likely going to happen.

Or talk about him being involved in the recruitment process is nonsense.

Yeah we always take the easy option but still hoping Real knock out PSG

Absolutely no way Ralf has been here this long and had zero discussions with anyone on who the new guy will be. He’s being diplomatic.

He literally stated few days back in another pre match interview that there had been one or two meetings and he wasn't going to give out any details.

I think this is weird reasoning...Just so we are clear...You are judging his ability to play young kids based on the few he didn't play rather than the many others he did play. This is like saying Ferguson didn't promote youth because he didnt give ravel morrison many games...or gabriel obertan who we also signed for some good amount of money

I think he seems impatient with young players who do not work out right away and I have seen him let them rot on the bench without playing for either the first or second team. It's worrying in my eyes in terms of keeping young players up to date with their development. Why is it weird?

Managers are unproven until they are not though. Klopp famously lost a ton of finals for years until he didn’t. Tuchel bottled at PSG and then won with Chelsea.

Stop looking for the magic manager, he doesn’t exist. And prem experience is a joke and doesn’t matter, the best managers all had 0 prem experience before being hired.

What did they worst managers have?

Going to be some very disappointed people in here when we don’t win all our first 10 games
I don't think so. The United fanbase is very patient. We waited 3 years for Ole to implement his "vision" despite having done nothing as a manager to earn it. Most here would be perfectly fine to give Ten Hag time. I don't think anyone expects miracles and Ajax-tier football in the first month or something. Let's not forget that Klopp and Pep's first seasons in charge of Liverpool and City were quite clearly transitional ones - average results, but the progress was clear for all to see. This is what I expect and hope. Anything else is a bonus.

Winning pretty comfortably today, Haller scored two. RKC were having a good go of it before they conceded the first but Ajax look to be playing good stuff now.
I haven’t watched much of Ajax but you can see why he’s rated highly.
