Players (especially this group) have had too much power for ages. It’s always the manager who gets sacked as it’s easier/much cheaper to replace them over several players.
If the right manager comes in and ends up binning half of them, keeping the ones with the right attitude and replacing the rest with keen buys and United youth… I’d be all for it.
(That applies to Ten Haag and Poch).
Any manager who doesn’t have the support of the players cannot be the ‘right’ manager. Be that ETH, Klopp, Pep or whoever. Ultimately, the job is to get a tune out of them. Not saying ETH can’t or that I wouldn’t like him to come, but if I learned that the dressing room was not as keen as me, that would dampen my expectations a bit is all.
I think them being desperate for Poch, if the case, increases the likelihood of such a marriage working out.
