Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

Never saw anything
It would have been nice if that person who said he released it then linked it or quoted it or even just gave us the gist. But considering he didn't and there is no suggestion anywhere on the internet that he did I would assume Red00012 doesn't know what he is talking about.

If he said anything or did any press the European Lad would have posted it and he didn't, so it doesn't exist.

Reading the first page and I pop up thinking he's Henk Ten Cate!

Credit to the thread starter as that was a few months before Ajax's epic CL run and he became more mainstream, one of the most exciting European runs I've seen in a long while that should've seen Ajax make the final.

I could see ETH at somewhere like Dortmund in about a year's time.

That could happen much faster, Dortmund's manager is under a lot of pressure now.

Depends if he's getting paid still by Man. United so could just wait until the summer. Dortmund feels a good fit for him though. Either that or someone in Serie A.

I reckon he pops up at Bayern when they sack Kompany in January.

Nice break, Christmas at home with the family, then back to it as the striker he wanted all along lands him a bundesliga for 3 months work.

Reading the posts back in 2018 or 2019, it is a shame that his stint at United doesn't end well. He is a talented coach, worked hard and tried his best when he was managing our team and I have no grudge against him. I can see he is a nice bloke too (albeit too stubborn perhaps)

All the best in his future career and hope he can get success in La Liga or Bundesliga.

Especially outside England, I doubt his stock will be damaged that much, or even at all, following his Man Utd stint, so I don't think he'll be out of work for too long.

At least during his 2 seasons in charge, Man Utd won trophies than Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham combined (clearly the 8th place league finish was hugely disappointing) !

I don't think he is clueless, just clueless on how to fix United. He won trophies and everyone knows how messed up the club is, so I imagine ETH's reputation is fairly intact. Of course, he won't be getting a top tier club other than potentially Bayern at some point, but he will get a job with a big club.

When he left Ajax, there were players who were fawning over him. It is interesting because personality seems to be one of the biggest issues he had at United.

And possibly come back and sign Antony, Mount, Zirkzee et al from us.

I also wanted him to succeed as he seemed to have what we needed. He should have been sacked the evening of the 7 nil, no one should survive that.

Best of luck to him, I do hope he has success in future.

It's a decent source, but I'd feel better if it was confirmed by @KirkDuyt or one of the Verstappen fanboys from the F1 thread.
Hans Kraay jr. (pundit and ex teammate of Ten Hag) said that he was devastated and down in the dumps (or something like that, when translated from Dutch).

This express headline looks sort of copied from that. Hans Kraay knows him well, so I'm sure it's true.

The Premier League was just a level or two too much for him. He needs to rebuild his reputation back in Holland or go to Germany.

He won FA Cup with us and was 2nd in his league in his first season.

United was a level too much for him. The Premier League isn't just filled with top teams, and he most certainly is a Premier League level. Even Steve Cooper is managing there.

Oh it's actually Hans Kraay junior.

Well, they're apparently sort of close, so not that bad of a source. And why wouldn't he feel shite about being sacked?

I was just making a stupid joke about any random Dutch person being able to have the inside track on Ten Hag's innermost thoughts because the Express just labelled him "fellow Dutchman" rather than saying he actually knows Ten Hag - but cheers for really confirming the story. :+1:

Here I thought I was seen as a well respected Dutch source on the caf :(
