The Ajax players no doubt are aware that he's fecking off to United in the summer. It might be having a psychological effect on their performances because they have been average recently.
So is the PSV coach though. I think it's more of a question of burn out.

I agree.

But in a lot of Ajax matches as far back as February, they've looked quite average with narrow wins.

They've had some injuries, but you're not going to barnstorm your way from start to finish. The fact they are getting 3 points and grinding out wins to put themselves in position to win the league is still positive

Yeah but its the dutch league. Isn't the disparity in resources for Ajax vs the rest very similar to that of the French league? Could be wrong of course.

They are the giant club in The Netherlands, yes. But while talented, Ajax still have young players who are a bit of an enigma at times. And they don't have a deep squad of like for like players.

Plus they are only 4 points ahead of PSV, so good club as well and obviously beat Ajax in the Cup today.

And EtH has shown what he can do with a more talented group as he had with De Ligt, VDB, de Jong, etc. Current Ajax are relying on Tadic, Klassen, and Haller. Anthony, Gravenberch are nice young players who elevate them, but the team isn't some dominant force.

The tweet is probably right, I'm sure there is still an Ole cult on twitter, but twitter is a horrific place to discuss football, even worse than Reddit. Full of literal children acting like children.

If Ten Hag can convince Gravenberch to join, we should go all out for him. The kid is the real deal.

Its not an excuse but the circus following ETH can’t have helped. They should have announced it before the Cup final and drew a line under it saying they would speak about it after. Instead its been nothing but constant speculation and such

I wonder if rotation and substitutions will also be an issue under him? Can't wait for a repeat of the Ole era matchday threads.

There's not a chance in hell he would have taken the job if we made that a condition.

You can't be undertaking a rebuild (both at a managerial/coaching level and at board level) and also demand a 37 year old is part of any plan going forward. They're incompatible.

ETH has been known to do his due diligence with all of his jobs, he'll have certainly done it with us, and like I said, there's no way he would have taken the job if we forced Ronaldo on him.
Did tuchel inherit Thiago Silva and keep him another year

I believe that’s one of the criticisms levelled against him already at Ajax

At the moment we must be the weirdest bunch of online fans ever,

The salt been amazing from another team Losing a cup final,

Like I said in the match thread, this is a good omen. Klopp too used to lose finals before going to Liverpool, where he lost a couple more. This will keep him hungry. We should be relieved, really.

If united board have made up their mind and appoint ten hag then should be given full backing. No half hearted measures. Team lacks belief and if next manager not started well then these players easily topple the manager.

So whatever happen result wise only measure will be about how well team play as a unit and how team responds to set backs.

Ten hag has the ability to coach players individually for their specific weaknesses and able to make underperforming players into good ones. Not totally relying on super stars which is very good for united in this stage.

These overpriced super stars are double edged swords and could be the reason for united s downfall after saf retired.Look at the players came after saf left Pogba, mata, matic,Maguire,Lukaku,Falcao,Di Maria, schweini,Cavani,Ronaldo,Sancho. All these players were great before joining united but not single one of them able to perform consistently for team or improve the team as a unit. That's why United struggled.

With ten hag he will probably bring back that knack of finding unearthed gems. Not overpriced superstars.

Erik ten Hag believes that Ajax has played against more than 11 players. What does he mean by that? "Sometimes there are forces and forces against it," he says. "I'm not talking about the arbitration."

We're getting an absolute nutter

I think he means the wind, as Klopp would say

To be honest I thought the ref was total shit................he set the tone, amazed no sending offs.

More amazed at the comments, mad away folks reacting off a game, if we where to set the same standards to every manager they all shite

Klopp last season at Dortmund brutal, went Liverpool had mad record of 6 finals lost in a row before he won at Liverpool, we managed to finish 3 out of 6 times ahead of his mightly Liverpool...........but Ajax lost tonight and everyone already made their mind up.

It's mad

has to be difficult for the players and ETH to focus on things right now given all the media nad print about him leaving in the summer....brings a lot of uncertainty to the players and squad
