Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

Direct is one thing. Passing it into touch is quite another.

Ajax's most creative player, Dusan Tadic has a lower pass completion than Bruno this season. Players who are tasked with creating chances are going to lose the ball. We have far far worse problems in our team than Bruno.

Oh I agree. I was just answering the question as to who is going to suit his style.

Fair play on that Tadic stat though. I didn't know that.

Sancho will fit nicely. You'd imagine Van de Beek will come back in.

There isn't really anyone else you'd feel is tailor made for it.
Not watched the video yet but ETH can't change the entire squad straight away, so will be interested to see how he can get on without the right players. Maybe the best we can hope for is a Klopp or Pep first season type of year. Promising but clear flaws in the squad that will then become more evident than they are now.

It will at least provide some players with the opportunity to prove him/fans wrong and we could be pleasantly surprises by some.

Welcome to Manchester Erik. I look forward to ironically supporting you in two seasons time when everyone else has got tired of your football and is calling you a fraud.

You're giving him that long?? Just wait till we're 1-0 down at Fulham next season and fans are twerking for Poch again.

Tadic is utilised as a inverted wide attacker from the left, so unless Bruno is utilised in a similar fashion, he'll have to improve his ball retention ability in a central role.

I mean, if you’re Bayern why would you not be all over this? ten Hag then having to choose.
Relax

I don't see Nagelsmann being sacked at all, not after one season anyway. He's going to win them the Bundesliga playing attractive football, these CL blunders happen. Perhaps the Bayern fans here can weigh in, but the impression I get is they don't want him gone. He's still one the most promising managers in Europe.

They’re fuming! And he hasn’t been very good.

Great news. Its a risk, but we needed to take a risk. I didnt hate Poch, thought he would’ve been a really good hire too, but feel like the club needed to go this route. I really, really hope this works out because I don’t know where we go if it doesn’t.

Done Dealio by the sounds of it. Exciting stuff, which is rare for us these days. Not sure I've been more mentally checked out than I have these last few weeks.

You realise Bayern will win the league right? They also paid a phenomenal amount for Nagelsmann (€25m). He won’t be sacked.

United have been negotiating with ten Hag for weeks/months and a deal has been agreed in principle. He’s also a man of great integrity by all accounts.

You’re either very silly or just trying to wind people up if you think anything other than him joining United. Especially that Bayern will suddenly snap him up.

People say this about every manager we sign just because of the dopamine hit. No one knows if he'll be any good for us, plenty of Eredevisie managers and players looked great at Ajax and then were rubbish elsewhere.

You must be fun at parties

Makes no difference. Tadic just so happens to be their most creative player who just so happens to be most comfortable on the left. A few years ago he played up front for them and used his creativity from central areas (as he still often does when he comes central). Bruno's most comfortable in a central attacking position and will therefore remain in that position. He will continue trying to create chances as he should. Bruno's had periods of time where he's been fully capable of linking play and bringing others into the game. It's not a coincidence he has been giving the ball away more when the rest of the team are playing terribly and not getting in good positions to receive the ball. His best linkup play has been with Fred when Fred has moved into more advanced areas of the pitch where he is most comfortable. The rest of our players don't offer good passing options. McTominay in particular is terrible at this. This is one area where VDB could help if he can adapt under ETH since he is actually quite good at making himself available to receive the ball.

Fred and McTominay have much better pass accuracy because they don't try these passes (in fact Fred has a better passing accuracy this season than any of Ajax's midfielders). Doesn't mean that's what ETH necessarily wants from them.
