Pre-game: Brentford are a good side, they will score in the opening minute. We are doomed under Ten Hag.

Post-game: Brentford are terrible. We are doomed under Ten Hag.

Post-game: That was a good second half, one game won't make me change my mind obviously.

Is actually the gist of the thread.

It's a bit of an odd one. I really don't think the players have downed tools. To be fair today we were unfortunate to go into half time losing and we were fairly impressive to watch second half for a change, I actually enjoyed to watch it. We fully deserved to win whereas even our other wins have been a struggle. That said I don't think there is any future for ETH realistically. We know at this stage any time we play as top team we are going to lose. I think the board have shown enough patience where they can't be accused of having an itchy trigger finger. They really have to be doing their homework on the next man.

I mean anyone that changes their opinion over one result regardless of whether they want him to stay or go isn’t worth listening in the first place

Believe it or not, we are going to win from to time. We are Man Utd after all. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to win and we were slightly better today, but the performance still wasn’t good enough for me to believe we’re doing anything but delaying the inevitable.

Nothing will change over him. You can give him another 2 seasons, it will remain the same. His line up, his formation, his tactics, nothing makes sense and our general play is shit most of the time

The only thing today’s performance proved is that we have alright players who should be able to perform much better consistently than ETH has them. I still don’t see any reason to keep him. He has done nothing to prove he’s capable of even reaching the minimum requirements for a United manager.

I've always thought he should have till the new year and I still think that. Today was promising but building a midfield around Erikson and Casemiro will get you twatted against anybody decent.

Careful talking sense, your post might get deleted
I deleted a couple of troll posts, and then subsequently also the responses to the troll posts. That's where yours got caught up in. I also indicated that in the notification, so no need to get silly here.

What wasn’t good enough out of interest? Team performance, not individual errors.

By the way, I’m not in the “We’ve won so we’re brilliant” category!

‘’still wasn’t good enough for me to believe that we’re doing anything but delaying the inevitable’’

Not saying it was bad, just that it wasn’t so good that I think we’re suddenly going to turn a corner. We had a good 15 minutes second half and then defended our lead well after a fairly poor first half.

but I do know about the autocorrect though. the understanding is that everyone else knows too, and knows what was intended
To be fair there's loads of regulars on here that don't know, a lot more than you would think.

Today was yet another indication that the only way a Hag team can win games with any sort of conviction is when Eriksen is playing and playing well.
It was pretty obvious in his first season but yet he's done nothing to find an upgrade or replacement since to actually have the midfield playing football.

Eriksen is by far his best signing. Evans second. Both free.

Yep. Mental squad planning really. Made us tick in his first season, and we've got no one else even close who can provide what he does. Don't get it really.

Saying a person is weird for using the word hysterical in every post is hardly trolling imo. But point taken.

We were ok today, narrowly beating a capable but far from world class Brentford side at home though is realistically a minimum expectation for us.

Still can only beat what's put in front of you and we did that today with a decent enough performance.

It's going to take alot more than that to get me to change my mind about Ten hag though.

For the managers sake I hope the players responded to a rousing team talk. I don't think they've given up or down tools, it's just so many performances like that first half of going through the motions but not really working hard enough. They came out with a point to prove and that extra efforts helps find the passes and we scored some excellent goals and seen some joy to the play.

Was delighted watching today.

First half - It's fair to think it was the same old regular performance.

Second half - I thought they were amazing. I think and this was so refreshing to see - they were hungry in the second half and that could be down to the team talk and felt they were hard done by because De Ligt had to leave the pitch for the corner (that's the rules, though, it was fair).

That second half performance was the best they played since FA Cup final IMO.

Also, today - it looked like the players FED off the fans, instead of being nervous and shaky. Rashford's pass to Garnacho was class, as was his finish. Bruno's assist was amazing and a proper striker finish by Rasmus.

Where has this team been?

I am not getting too far ahead of myself but I truly hope this drives them on.

Overly optimistic stat: only 1 defeat in the last 8 matches.

Watching the highlights, looks like the second half had some great football. I still think the Ten Hag era is on death row though. The next crisis is probably just around the corner.

Just under 20 posters have changed or voted for him to stay .
Stop the count :wenger: /s

We played some decent football today. It seems the executive structure at the club are intent on seeing Ten Hag through for a while longer yet (I'd imagine they wouldn't seriously entertain sacking him before Christmas), so while we have him, may as well let enjoy the improvement we saw today and be cautiously optimistic that we can string a few good results together.

I know we've had "false dawns" in the past, but we've yet to have a "false dawn" under the new ownership structure. I personally can't change anything about the management at Manchester United, so I may as well enjoy it when we play some good football!

Individually, I see a lot of good players.

Watching De Ligt, Licha, Dalot, Mazraoui and even Onana, I see top class defensive players.
Evans and Maguire are serviceable.
Watching Garnacho, Hojlund, Rashford, Amad and Bruno, I see quality attacking players. I'd argue that their abilities on the counter, show how resourceful these players are individually.
I've seen some ability from Mainoo ( who i think is a touch overrated by the CAF), and despite their age, ability on the ball from Casemiro and Eriksen. Ugarter is a bit too early to judge.

I say all this to say, even though quite young in attack, I genuinely don't understand the idea that this squad is average. Today was another show of that.

This is why, if results turn, our fans should remember this before questioning their abilities.

Pragmatic start? Definitely not. We couldn’t string 5 passes together for at least 20 minutes. Similar to the Saints game, the Liverpool game, the Fulham game. It’s worrying.

Young players don’t perform consistently. Zirkzee should have scored again, he’s inconsistent.

(I just watched the final episode of Brassic, so read this with the voice of Davey Macdonagh in your head)
I honestly hate being a negative Nelly. But we scraped a win at home against Brentford and people are proclaiming it as a turning point as though the last 3 years of league form were just a blip.
If, and I really mean IF we scrape something against Fenerbache and our next EPL game, then we might be turning things around.
But I very much doubt it.
I seriously think a lot of United fans enjoy a bit of self flagellation if they think any of this is good enough.
The gaslighting from ETH is complete if he’s being let off the hook with a 2-1 home win against fekkin BRENTFORD

A manager on his last legs. His latest press conference was riddled with jargon and insecurities. "Last season was a success".. he finished 8th, barely scraped a FA cup win. He is currently 14th. I can see why he struggles to motivate this pathetic bunch of players too. Ten Hag will be sent packing soon enough
Yup, he sounds like a politician. I honestly don't think this team is that bad. Probably a 5th-7th place team. Today the avg midfield age was 31, then add Evans, who actually played well at 36. That is a huge issue. ETH and his sluggish tactics play to this. If it wasn't for Garnacho executing and creating chances, this team would be in relegation right now.
