Shambolic second half, but a draw is fine. Beat Villa on Sunday and we're good.
Draw not fine when you consider that Spurs were practically trying to give the points away. If Spurs weren’t hung-dog and totally disorganised then a point would be great.

Can't wait for the transfer window. Hope we'll look for a RB too after today (and please, not in the Eredivisie). As woeful as our subs were though, they are not the main reason we dropped the points here. We looked horrible straight after HT, I don't know if the squad is gassed out or if they were getting ahead of themselves, but jesus there was zero intensity the entire second half.

Ok, subs were bad and shit. On the other hand we played nice football in first half. Big question is; what is happening at half time every match? We always look worse in 2nd half. Especially in first 10 minutes.

We only have 2 decent central midfielders and they're both over 30. They run out of gas after 55-70 minutes and we have no one anywhere near as good to sub on for them.

Too much complacency and I don't understand why Sancho is taken off after 60 minutes after playing less against Brighton. He's not helped himself.

Also his signings overall have been crap. He should have no input into transfers going forward, if we keep going like he won't be here this time next year. It will be a much tougher league
You mean our starting CB, arguably level with Varane, and our starting midfield? Some people honestly...

Who has he signed that has been poor?

I doubt Wout was a preferred choice.

You expected more than top 4, trophy and FA Cup Final?
Talk about expectations changing. It used to be never mind where we are the style of play is not sustainable, now it’s ignore the performances and just look at where we are, 2 easy cup runs and a top four in a weak league.

Subs didn't work today. Has to do better at seeing out dominant positions rather then letting the opposition back in through complacency imo.

We are exhausted but EtH seems to be a rigid coach. A true rollercoaster season.

People in here comparing Erik’s first season at United conveniently to Pep’s and Klopp’s most successful seasons (i.e. not their first fecking seasons).

This thread is great for showing up the caf members with sub zero IQs. Same trash come out of the woodwork every time we lose, spouting the same rubbish.

We just played 120 minutes and a pen shoot out in a semi final on Sunday. On top of a depleted squad. But don’t let that get in the way of claiming we should be playing like prime City under Pep.

I'd say he can't wait to replace a lot of that squad. So many of them aren't made of the right stuff.

That’s twice in a couple of weeks now where we have finally been punished for playing with complacency and laziness when 2-0 up. That’s been threatened a lot at Old Trafford all season. Gotta kill the game off and put it beyond the opposition when on top. That’s on the manager to address.

It’s purely mental, because as soon as Spurs equalised we went back to controlling the game again.

I'm on about your hypocrisy mate
Show me.

You do realize that with Ole (apart from his first half season and last season), our second half performances won us many games, and his away record (covid or not) was very good. So I am not being hypocritical in demanding that ETH improve its away game performance? right?

Also his signings overall have been crap. He should have no input into transfers going forward, if we keep going like he won't be here this time next year. It will be a much tougher league
You what?
Casemiro - best DM around
Eriksen - free signing who has been class and key
Antony - left footed RW, loads of talent and huge potential and important player (but overpriced)
Malacia - left back cover for low price but very good for the cost
Martinez - world class center back
Sabitzer - emergency loan to respond to an injury
Weghorst - low cost emergency loan for an attacking body

What in the feck are you talking about

Who has he signed that has been poor?

I doubt Wout was a preferred choice.

Most of his signings actually have been either average or with questions around them. Martinez is the only one whom I'll say was a strong hit.

Eriksen has been decent but nothing spectacular. Casemiro is a very good player but paying 80m for a 31 years old player instead of investing such sum of money in a younger midfielder will come bite us in the arse within 2 years at most.

Not getting top 4 would be a disaster, but if this club don't do well in this upcoming window then team are going to get spanked in the CL, and if WW stays, god save us.

He is not as good as we think. Second season will be interesting. He tinkers too much and keeps making subs that do not work. Some early worrying signs.

This. I am totally unconvinced by the guy. What I see is the same thing that happened with OGS, i.e. our "good" form was heavily correlated with one player generally outperforming for a short while, after said player has a dip in form the whole team dips and we are back playing absolutely horrid football. I am not going to mention his subs (which so far are just mind boggling), and the players he got in the January transfer window, but it has to be said that bringing a Burnley striker is one of the most baffling decisions I've ever seen. I mean, Weghorst makes Fellaini look like a football god, and I thought he was one of the worst players to ever wear a shirt (oh, how wrong I was). Generally, I don't see the direction that we are going in football-wise. It's all the same to me: Have a moment where we play good football -> back to total shite -> rinse, repeat. For a guy that is really big on mentality and additional work with psychologists it's really puzzling how mentally weak we are (and are getting). Besides, out of all the teams fighting for top4, we have been so incredibly spanked this season that it also needs to be questioned. I am not looking forward to the next season, hope I am wrong though.

I mean Fred came on at the same time at the weekend and changed the game. He did the same tonight but in the wrong way. That's Fred for you but it isn't the manager's fault

Fred has done well when he has come on as a sub for Eriksen almost every time. Today Fred was shit. That is on Fred, not on ETH.

People complain about Eriksen starting, about Eriksen playing too long because he is old, people complain about Fred starting, people ask for Fred to come on because Fred 'his energy' is needed. Whatever ETH does, he never picks the right option when Manchester United doesnt win and also play great football

You don't half read some tripe on here

I maintain my opinion and I don't care about the top reds here. Ten Hag had been great up till the cup final. After that he has been godawful in managing the team and he fecked up a lot of games with weird tactics and subs.

This was a 8/10 season up till winning that cup, after that it has been the same old shit United we know and love.

This is heading towards a very negative end of the season. Top 4 is safe alright (we built a pretty good lead and had games in hand over all our competitors I think, and they're not that consistent) but results have went downhill, performance returned to being shit and the EL exit was very negative.

I'm praying to God we don't really lose the Fa Cup final because let's be honest losing it over such negative end to the season will set up for a pretty damn awful mood going into the summer then next season.

How we end the season is very important. If we win the cup I'm ready to forgive that shitshow last few months, otherwise I'm not confident of next season, like at all.

And I'll say it again, Ten Hag has been awful in managing away games and overall his decisions and tactics have went completely downhill ever since winning that damn Mickey Mouse cup.
I've seen similar comments a lot and to a point, its true but when was the last time Ten Hag had a completely full squad to select from? He lost Eriksen and Garnacho to injuries inflicted on them, Casemiro to suspensions, Varane and Martinez probably for the rest of the season in the space of one game, Martial has missed most of the season.....yet, we won the League Cup, got to the quarters of the Europa after knocking out the runaway leaders of La Liga, have reached the FA Cup Final and we will almost certainly be guaranteed top four - managing all this whilst playing more football than ANY club in Europe this season that just happened to have had a world Cup sandwiched in the middle? If this is what Ten Hag can manage on a "threadbare" squad that isn't his in his first season, I'm seriously looking forward to what comes next.....

Mártinez, Casemiro and Antony have been crap? Go to bed.

The subs were awful though so were his options. Probably shouldn’t have brought Sancho off and kept Rashford up front.

Anyway point stands, scrap top 4, finishing below Newcastle and losing the Fa Cup final will be such a godawful end to the season and will put a lot of shadows and doom going into the market no matter how much the top reds here are going to convince themselves. We're heading towards a very negative end to the season.

Please win that damn cup so that summer doesn't be shit.

Don't really care what criticism I get for this, but I'm finding myself less and less sold on him the more this season continues. Second half performances like this are just too common.
For me the most disappointing thing is that we've only had one really good 90 minutes this season, against Spurs at home. Expected the ups and downs but our performances over 90 minutes have been patchy all season.

Still have faith in him but do have some reservations on how far he can ultimately take us.

His signings have been very good. Eriksen has been very good. Casemiro is still outstanding, why are we guessing what's going to happen 'within 2 years' without any indications whatsoever.

A load of people talking about Weghorst but Malacia and Fred were the much much bigger problems. Bringing those two on when you're trying to defend a one goal lead is just daft; neither of them are calm, dependable players.

Took too long to notice Spurs went wide in the second half. Antony and AWB were too narrow in the second half. Perisic had a field day with crosses. So frustrating.

We're clear of the chasing pack with games in hand, we shouldn't be worrying about top 4 at this stage. Talk of ETH potentially getting the sack is madness.

Our bench today wasn't great. He didn't have many options off the bench. He made changes - they just didn't perform up to the required standard today.
