Or because the likes of you only rock up in here after a bad performance/result. Where are your posts in here after the LC win, or when we beat Barca? I noticed you posted a fair bit in here after the Liverpool game, nothing after the Betis game, and you're back again after yesterday. feck off with the agenda pal.
After the LC win:
Brilliant
Agenda.

If you think everything is perfect that's fine, couldn't care less what you post.

I made a balanced post saying our issues are mainly due to personnel which another poster agreed with.

If you don't like it just put me on ignore rather than doing your usual thing of trying to police everyone.

One post with one word after the LC win - our first trophy in 6 fecking years - and a tonne of posts after the Liverpool game

As I said, feck off with the agendas pal.

Dear ETH, Fred and Martinez in double pivot will help out in the next four league fixtures.

Damn right I posted after the Liverpool game, our most embarrassing result in at least our recent history.

If you were happy with that, fair enough. I won't try bully you into posting only stuff I agree with, like you think you can do with others.

But only one post with one word after our first trophy in 6 years?

No posts after Betis, then you're back again yesterday badgering on with your COUNTER ATTACKING shite. It's laughable.

If you can't get behind him or even worse, wanting him to fail and can't wait to get the pitchforks out the moment something bad happens, I think it's better for you to stop supporting the club. Because what are the positives for you? sounds like a very miserable existence for me. He does better than Pep in his first season where he had the best squad in PL and feckton of money to spend on top of that. Did you forget about the previous managers before him??? we didn't expect this much from them during their first seasons. The results so far have people believing we're the best team in the world and have to win every game.

He's had so much bad luck to deal with this season as well. Doing fantastic in all the circumstances.

You said I didn't post after wins. Now saying "brilliant" isn't good enough. Make your mind up what your law is one on this one.

I didn't realise I had to post in here after every win to make sure the self appointed forum policeman was happy.

And running to your other thread to name call . Pathetic.

He looks like he’s getting the absolute max from his players. Team selection was a bit weird yesterday, but what options did he have? At the time Casemiro went off you were starting to pull Soton apart. He’s doing this while having to bring AWB back, having only loans in January, having his first choice CF injured all the time, having Sancho just not pulling his weight.

I think you’ll slow down a bit from now, but will make top four. He could do with Martial and Eriksen giving him 6 games each to give things a boost. There’s also a chance Dalot gets some form back. Sabitzer gets fit again. None of those are massive in themselves, but he’s not got much to work with and he’s resourceful.

We don't have unlimited fund like Cheslea and City, the position we are now in, is what I expect after 3-4 transfer window.

If we have better luck of all those suspension and injuries, esp Eriksen we could be challenging the league title as well.

We won one cup, another two is still on-going, the dressing atomsphere is great, what more you can ask for?

How can anyone doubt what he is doing. I understand rivals fans or talk shite doubting him and underplaying our season but our own fans doing it after some blip (I won't even call it a blip) doesn't make any sense.

I apologise, I missed your one word, token gesture post. One word after our first cup win in 6 years

If if makes you feel better, I was alluding to you AND the rest of your type :smirk:

I get it, you hate ETH. That's cool bro.

Our attackers should have done better, no dobt, but I blame EtH for the tactics. Imagine Liverpool, Arsenal og City getting the same red card in the first half at home against Southampton (like that would ever happen) and I guarantee, they would take the game by the scruff of the neck and put up a better challenge than we did. Southampton were there for the taking had we decided to press them.
Pressing high with 9 players, not a great idea. Southampton was playing well.

Ten Hag has so many situations going against him (Ronaldo, Martial injury, Casemiro missing 7 games due to suspension, Antony/Sancho in and out of the team, our second best midfielder out for the season, our 3rd best attacker leaving the stadium on clutches) - it's mind boggling. At some point you have to wonder what he can really do about it and how much is he to blame if we for example fall apart now?

Incredible season since we're definitely overachieving with this squad. That said, regarding yesterday game I really don't know what he was trying to achieve with Casemiro as the only midfielder and I really don't see any reason why he ETH decided to do it.

I think it was a bit of an experiment. Was a good game to do it in, against the bottom team in the league. Shame about the red. I was intrigued by what that midfield 3 could've done.

One of our biggest strengths is the turnover caused by defensively strong midfield in Casemiro and Fred, with Bruno acting as the link to attack. This is functioning very well. Having Casemiro in deep midfield and two Attacking Midfielders (they are really more of attackers than midfielders) means we don't have this weapon.

Maybe he wanted more possession but from the beginning I thought this is not the best idea. You don't become a better team just because you swap regular midfielders with attacking midfielders, because you also lose balance. It really is bizarre to me. Not to mention Bruno ALWAYS does a Pogba (weak backpass/dispossessed in dangerous area). This is why he should stay clear of deeper areas. And we didn't learn that yesterday.

The bold part, it is.

But where are those 4 players? What's the hit rate we should have to achieve 4 perfect possession players?

We've seen signing players is okay but signing performing players is the tricky part.

But all in all, he needs 3 perfect signing in the summer.

Not Antony type but Licha type, people who elevate the team to greater heights.
Before this season, I don't think anyone would have pegged Ramsdale, White, Gabriel, Xhaka, and Partey as perfect players to play a dominant style of football in a team that generally controls possession. Fans vastly underrate how much a coherent system and time on the training ground under a competent coach can do. We keep looking for players to come and already look the part but it almost never works exactly like that.

I think he's a brilliant manager and so glad to have him.

However he's not that good that he can't be called out when he gets it wrong. If anyone saw Trent at Bournemouth at the weekend then you really do have to scratch your head as to why ETH decided Bruno should play up against him. The most baffling decision of the season for me. Bournemouth targeted him like we should have done and got a lot of joy out of it.

He over thought the tactics in my opinion. My guess is that he figured Bruno's movement would pull TAA out of position which would allow Shaw to overlap and find lots of space.

Rashford running at TAA for 70 minutes and then bringing on Garnacho to run at him seemed like the obvious move. Stupidly simple but might have worked better.

I don't care if it was about just me. I just find it hilarious you need to go cry for back up for your little bullying antics.

I like Ten Hag and wouldn't swap him, but I don't think he's perfect. If you can't handle that opinion, put me on ignore.

Get over it bud, I'm calling out your clear agenda.

Having thought about the subs again I am even more baffled by them. If the idea in the second half was to sit back & play on the break then surely Garnacho should have come on earlier. Also when you are down a man you need a player like Fred who has energy and can win ball back . We were constantly left open with no tacklers on the pitch . I still can’t believe that both Antony & Sancho played as long as they did

some people just like to bitch and moan for just hte bloody sake of it....hence what you see in this thread since the dippers match and yesterday. they find something to make negative and enjoy it.

EtH has done a brilliant job changing the culture of the program. You can see the players are playing for each other and the gaffer along with having some fun again.

Shit...it's his first season of course you're going to have a few setbacks during the course of the season that is the premier league. He's had a few mountains to climb already and done them quite successfully with a squad that while in volume it is good, the quality of that volume is a bit suspect. As mentioned, the ronaldo and martial situations haven't helped either.

First manager since Fergie...that i've enjoyed watching United play football again other for that brief spell during the COVID year when Ole had them flying. I'm just excited that a trophy has been won, doing well in both the league and have a great opportunity to move forward in the Europa then see how the season plays out.

Since the return of the world cup he's barely had any chance to actually do any real training with the players as they've been playing every 3 days for what seems like the past 2.5 months straight. Takes a toll on the players but he's handling it quite well.

Sancho was a big dud. He never works in 11 man team so with 10 men it was stupid to expect him to do anything.

Antony was fine. You need defensive work with 10 men so he made sense. I may be wrong but Fred it seems was rested for this. Otherwise don't see why ETH played a one man midfield. I don't think we were that bad even with 10 men. II fully expected us to lose but we fought well and if we had arsenal level luck Bruno's shot could have gone in and we would have walked with 1-0 win.

I do think we were more exciting to watch in an attacking sense at times in Ole's 2nd and 3rd seasons but that was mainly due to Rashford, Martial and Greenwood's exciting displays on the counter coupled with Bruno's ridiculous form. We're clearly more organised and structured under ETH and I have faith he'll sort our attack out in due course.

That’s what managers do. They often make work what you think wouldn’t. Most here laughed at the suggestion of Shaw as a CB too.

That didn’t contribute to Casmeiro lunging in the way he did (great challenge btw) and even if it did you can sometime take defensive liberties for some extra attacking firepower. You people act as if other manages never switch things up.
It could easily have increased the chances of casemiro having to lunge in like that. Just him playing in the centre of the park means he has to cover a lot of ground. Not exactly rocket science

Luke shaw does have a lot of attributes required to fill the same role as martinez. Where as Bruno clearly lacks the positional sense to perform that deeper role

ETH clearly made a mistake, despite being a good manager. It happens but I just hope he doesn't continue overcomplicating things

I wasn't really fond of ETH's lineup yday it looked a mess and all over the place. Bruno kept vacating his position leaving casemiro isolated by himself. I have an idea that could suit the team at the moment. From what I can remember ETH uses a 2-3-5 shape in posession. So why can't we do this:

Normal formation: (4231) DDG-- ||AWB/DALOT-VARANE-MARTINEZ-SHAW||--||CASEMIRO-SABITZER/MCTOM||--||BRUNO-FRED-RASHFORD--WEGHORST||

Attacking formation: (2-3-5) DDG-- ||VARANE-MARTINEZ--||SABITZER-CASEMIRO-FRED||--||SHAW-RASHFORD-WEGHORST-BRUNO-AWB/DALOT||

Defensive formation: (4-4-2) DDG-- ||DALOT-VARANE-MARTINEZ-SHAW||-- ||BRUNO-SABITZER-CASEMIRO-RASHFORD||--||WEGHORST-FRED||

Just to explain, in the normal formation we can keep the shape solid by having 3 CM's in middle with Fred as the CAM to provide the high press as he's adept at that. Bruno wide but ready to come inside.

In the attacking formation, because both our fullbacks are good at supporting overlaps, they can provide the width instead of two wingers or one winger doing that. So If you think less in terms of formations and more roles, this can allow rashford to dovetail with weghorst and come inside left to make to runs in the channels and be a nuisance to the CB/FB and keep weghorst doing his primary function which is to hold up the ball and link play which would be easir now as he has lot of options inside and outballs outside with the fullbacks. Bruno can come inside and retain this sort of "free" role by roaming BTL and coming deep to collect the ball of the CM's and he can do his thing and provide the creative spark. Then the 3 CM's in the middle can pack up the centre and act as a springboard for the attack, keep the shape and retain the ball. At the back is self-explanatory with varane and martinez.

In the defensive formation, you can take a leaf off pep's book by utilizing a 442 press keeping it nice and compact. By shifting bruno out wide out of possession you can limit his lack of defensive awareness, especially in the center and allow him to focus on a more simplified pressing scheme by pressing from wide areas and harrying the FB/cutting off wide passing lanes etc.. Bruno is v.good at pressing and is a willing presser if you utilize him correctly. Fred pressing alongside weghorst to make up for the lack of press urgency from weghorst is good.
Overall just allows the team's defensive scheme and plan to be just that more efficient.

Let me know if there are any questions!

Really?

If you get a centre forward who can hold the ball up, bring players into play, as well as being a goal threat. That alone will give a lot of spaces to your midfield . I’d start there with a Kane or Osimhen. There are players out there, in this league and abroad, that’s what the scouting team gets paid to do, and Man Utd are a big draw, you shouldn’t really end up with a weighorst and even sabicer , obviously the ownership situation affected that, but these are stop gap players.
The ownership situation didn’t just affect it, it’s the sole reason for it.

Found this very interesting. It's a good reminder of how much churn and rotation our team has actually had this season. A few key players, then a lot of minutes are spread amongst the squad.

Bullying antics?

Get over it bud, I'm calling out your clear agenda.
See you do it all the time. Might work on others.

You tried this 'agenda' thing before remember. I'm still waiting for you to describe what this 'agenda' is though....

Your anti-ETH agenda obviously
Ah yes, saying there is room for improvement in attack is an anti Ten Hag agenda and I 'hate' him.

Not sure how you'll cope if I actually say something remotely bad about him. Probably sets an alarm off for you to burst into action.
