I would have liked to see Garnacho instead of Weghorst, he would have definitely given Arsenal something to think about. Apart from that I don't know what he could have done, our subs bench was fecking atrocious, I don't get all the crying here. We are way behind Arsenal but that's the reality, it cannot be fixed in 5 months. We are still doing fine, nearly 2 points per game on average, having already played both City and Arsenal twice. We are in a good position.

He's doing miles better than Ole, cool off before posting rubbish. Most people didn't even think we'd get top 4 this season, we're not "scraping" it, we're there because we're one of the best teams in the league.
Manager is doing a great job for year one. A few more signings in the summer and we will be ready for a full on assault on the league and CL next year imo.
If he had swapped Garnacho for Antony and stuck with the 4-2-3-1 Garnacho wouldn't have seen the ball once and we'd have conceded 4 or 5 goals.
We had no control of the midfield in this match, especially as Eriksen tired in the 2nd half. Switching up the forward players wouldn't have made a difference.
We lost because our midfielders aren't good enough. If we're still starting Eriksen every match instead next season we'll have the same problem.
He has a bloody fantastic young winger that could have gave us some life in the counter.

Weghorst brought nothing to the team in the last 30 minutes. He was a waste of space on the pitch. Give Garnacho a chance on the left, let Rashford play as a 9. Bruno on the right brings us nothing, sloppy offense, no defense. Even Elanga just running up and down on the right would be more effective. We had not much on the bench, but just waiting to concede should not be an option.

I love ETH. I love the mentality that he's instilled and I think we're performing WAY above where we should be considering the club is skint. I just feel like both this and the Palace match were there for the taking and we let it slip away. That said, Palace was much more frustrating as we had Casemiro, and asking McTominay to do a job today was pushing him to his limits.

I think he has to take responsibility for this loss. He should have made substitutions around the 70 minute mark but I think there is a bit of an exaggeration from some of our fans.

Wouldn't have been a major risk but choosing to maintain no out ball was a major risk and it did not pay off.

It's a bit tenuous really, if that's the best we have then maybe it's understandable he didn't use his bench. He nearly got a point, I fully expected us to lose beforehand and we nearly didn't, he didn't do a bad job.
Agreed, and I doubt there's a single fan who is unimpressed with the job he has done. However, this is yet another game where his in-game management was poor. McTominay and Antony "playing" the full 90? Shaw refusing to engage Saka for the whole game when Malacia is on the bench? Garnacho sat on his arse until extra time?
Even leaving aside subs (or lack thereof), he needed to change something going into the final 15 mins. Arsenal were all over us like they would have been against a conference side. Just getting our defence to play 10 yards higher would have helped but he left it well alone.
I would've gone with the threat of Rashford down the middle, Garnacho on the left. We could've even for the last 15 mins put Rashford on the right, leave Weghorst on and have Garnacho down the left. Rashford has been very effective down the right this season and could've helped us maintain a threat, keep the 2-2.

We lost this match because we don't have a proper midfield yet. You can screech all you want about subbing Garnacho on but it wouldn't have made a difference because we couldn't get hold of the ball and spent most of the match in our own half.

Think EtH got a few things wrong. One Casemiro = One McFred. Should have used similar tactics that he deployed versus Man City. Plus should have brought on Garnacho much sooner.
