We looked considerably less likely to win the game. Eriksen was lost in midfield. If you want a harrier on, bring Eriksen off and leave players in their natural position.

I've never seen us dominate Chelsea at Stamford Bridge the way we did in that first half even during Fergie Era.
On the flip side, had we been so dominant we would have been a couple of goals up during those times.
Our overall team quality isn't high barring a few players mostly defensive but he's got them all to play at a higher level.

I dont know if you're serious or not..You had some dire dire football the past 3 years with no patern of play at all. A horrible last season and a squad in disarray. Are you seriously saying he should be competing for the title? If so, you're highly delusional. This guy is working miracles in my opinion, I saw some really impressive fieldplay the last two games. You btw played the hardest teams of all the other top 6 teams in the first 10 matches. It will get easier.

There have been some difficult results as the team adjusted, but if you take out the opening two fixtures, we have been excellent every since, through a really difficult run of fixtures. City beating aside.
What is most impressive is the massive transformation we’ve seen in how the team play, which is surely laying the foundations for better and better things to come. To take 10 points from Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea, and be the better team in all 4 games, is just outstanding when you consider he’s still only 11 games into his OT tenure. The transformation of several players under his tutelage is also extremely encouraging.
Top, top manager and I am loving what I am seeing right now. The press from the front is so intelligent, and with a couple more signings, this can be a really, really good title challenging team. This season will happily settle for top four and something more to build on for next season.

I thought the Fred sub was spot on, even if it made us less threatening going forward. Potter chose to just overload the midfield and we needed to respond in kind, especially since we don’t have any super clinical attackers that are worth leaving on for a potential counter. Didn’t have much else for options off of the bench either.

He's had a decent enough week. The Newcastle result being the biggest disappointment. The defensive structure looks good, ultimately it's lack of goals which are going to cost us.

Man our attacking depth is so poor. We have 3 players for striker (one is done, one is always injured), sancho for left, Antony for right. Bruno and Eriksen for AM/ no.10. That's it. Essentially 4 players for 3 positions.

I was one of his biggest critics in his first few games and I still think he made mistakes he could have avoided but the improvement over the course of season has been nothing short of phenomenal. It’s barely been two months since we got destroyed by Brighton and Brentford and we are capable of playing the best football we have seen since Ferguson, virtually all players are now playing at a much higher level, there is fight and there is creativity we could not dream of for years.
He needs 2-3 signings to get us back to challenging at the top. Striker, winger and maybe a midfielder/full back could get us there.

Agreed and it is hard to change things when your bench is as weak as ours
Encouraging to see us dominating a top6 team again. Shame we couldn't maintain it but it's obvious that Eriksen is spend after 55 minutes in a game like this.. Need depth but also a bit of bravery to start playing some of the kids in the minor games which can next to Casemiro show their worth. Someone like Iqbal might just take their chance, if not we can still grind results against the lesser teams..

Outside of the evident improvement on the pitch, I'm really impressed by how controlled he is in dealing with all the crap that he's had to deal with both externally and internally. The United job is extremely difficult and he's handled things very well so far.
Just needs a bloody striker though. One that is the right age and not injury prone

I think he messed it up when Fred came on, we had like 4 midfielders. We totally lost any shape and players were confused. Nobody was running at Chelsea defense, we should've subbed one of Eriksen or Bruno for Elanga.
Yeah we could end up outside the top 4 but that's down to the quality of the squad/injuries/it being a process. It's not the end of the world even if we do. You reinforce, and push on next year.
When you judge a manager, you judge it based off of what he can actually control. Anyone actually watching our games and not being convinced that he's the right manager for us, is a fecking idiot to be blunt. He's coached us to dominate big games within 3 months. We need more reinforcements, and he is up against the best coaches in the world, the richest teams in the world, and yet he's doing a great job all the same. Consistency, better results will all come in time, as it always does. He's had a few months, everyone he's competing with bar Potter has had multiple years.
It's scary that we still have people who would bin him off if we finish 5th, even if we continue to show clear improvement and that we're going in the right direction.
