Let Ten Hag cook. He's got the recipe

The attitude of our players is changing. They're in it to compete now

if we had a bit more quality in the coming windows, we'll be fighting for the league really soon

Let Ten Hag cook

A lot of people clearly no nothing of football in this thread. Worrying for a football forum.

Continues to be positive signs, we are in a positive transition and I don’t think there’s much to grumble about considering the squad depth.

Definitely need a quality striker in Jan though.

Don’t agree with that. We took Bruno out of a position he is effective in and shoehorned into one that he wasn’t. He’s not a wide player and will never be one.

But the goal isn't to accomodate Bruno when his lack of presence in midfield was seeing us being constantly outnumbered after Kovacic's introduction. The alternative was to take both Bruno and Sancho off.

It was not about getting the best out of Bruno, it was about getting control of a game that was drifting away from us. Our counter press was no longer working and Chelsea were transitioning into our final third at will.

Finally feels like the team has an identity and style of play. We have improved dramatically on the ball thanks to some of the new signings and finally have a competent midfield. Hope the board backs him in Jan and next summer so that he can continue his build.

Counting the season on Martial, Ronaldo and Rashford was a huge gamble. Hope the club gives him a striker he deserves.

Disappointing to give the penalty away but overall a decent result. Still below Chelsea in the table but a more favourable schedule coming up provided we can get the wins against the lower sides.
Brutal schedule. But, getting results against these sides is a positive.

Surely the goal is to win the game? I don’t think the change worked.

A 1-1 like last season but a world of difference in the performance. We played like a Championship side last time out there. If not for fatigue in the second half and a worse bench, we could have walked out of there with 3 points today

I predict he will very soon start to give young blood minutes. The team is in the final phase of the transformation. All are on the right track. The only worry is Varane’s injury.

The change was surely to improve our chance of winning. He could’ve taken Eriksen off instead of playing players out of position.

He's the guy. Our attitude in passing is miles better, we're creating chances and his transfers have made the difference again. We just don't have quality replacements for our first team. The board needs to be clear with him right now whether they will bring a striker in January or not. If not, he needs to start working with one of our young strikers because we're desperate. Put that world cup break to good use.

Goodness... You guys do know it's possible to say he's had an average game without wanting him to be sacked, right?

No one wants him sacked. Overall he's doing great. Today, meh. That's it.

Our chances of winning would have reduced drastically if Chelsea continued to win the second balls. The game was drifting away. I don't know how else to explain it. His only other option was to take Bruno off.

had them really worried and I think Chelsea were just happy to nullify the game at home, which says it all

honestly can't remember us looking so confident away to Chelsea as we did in the first half

obviously loads of issues still to iron out and wotnot, but bloody hell, how can you not be excited by this

Unfortunately those are the games this team has struggled to win due to poor mentality. If ten hag can get some performances there - we will have really turned a corner.

The improvement in passing, pressing and movement is so damn obvious; if only our attack was more clinical

The nonsense negative here should really remind themselves what the consensus was after the first two games. We had a string of tough games. Now, in hindsight, we finished them not bad!

Set us up beautifully from the start. We dominated them for a long while. Too slow to react against Potters tactical change, and didn’t recognise Eriksen was struggling with the tempo of the game. All in all, we can se us getting better. And our players should know who is the boss by now.

The reaction of the manager on the sidelines and every single player after conceding such an undeserved goal was incredible.
We had 2 great attacks before the goal.

Above all else, we looked better than Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

I would have taken a loss and be happy with it. We played well and it was probably one of the best we have produced at Bridge. We are slowing improving.

Anyone noticed Casemiro looking unhappy at the fact that we only got the draw? He was shaking his head at the final whistle. That's the kind of player we need.

Don't think the subs were good overall, but I think he set us up perfectly at the start of the game. Unfortunate not to have won it.
Our sub options are shit. You don’t just throw a Zidane or Garnacho in these kind of games. It can set them back

First half was sensational, absolutely fantastic.

Second more scrappy and we struggled to really get on the ball. Think ETHs changes weren't great today but not exactly a plethora of options.

Really pleased with him.

I tend to agree, but then again: look at that bench. Offensively we had Elanga, Pellestri and Garnacho. That's it. I'd like to see some of Garnacho in the coming weeks, but today I'd say it would've been to rushed.

I'd have done the same routine of Fred for Sancho, Bruno as LW and Eriksen as a AM. We're just painfully fragile when it comes to depth.

So clear to see we are heading in the right direction. Ten Hag was let down by the options on the bench today. Our squad just doesn't have the backup players to effectively come in and affect games Definitely need a striker, another midfielder, winger and a back up to Dalot. We defo need a young cb as a 3rd/4th choice option. If the board back ten hag this winter and summer then big things are gonna happen.

Second this.
our players were visibly tired. We are lack of squad depth to handle the games so short in between.

Considering how many times he has made the right decisions and impacted the game from the bench and tactical changes I think he was overdue one. Any change is a gamble, you don't have a 100% success rate with them. McTominay and Bruno wide didn't really work today.
