I'm actually leaning towards it should be announced before the final too, it won't be, but I think it would be better for everyone. Then everyone knows where they stand. It's not as if he'd tank the final if he knew he was going, I'm sure he's got an idea by now anyway. Now the drip drip drip of news is coming out that we're talking to other people, it is a bit noisy.

You get them top red. Almost sched a tear reading this.
It's nothing to do with being a 'top red', it's about preparing for a cup final against a rival and being annoyed that this is overshadowing everything. It's absolutely fine to want rid of EtH, i'm not really sure i want him to stay either, but we've got a cup final on Saturday.

Banning journos for asking a question. Yeah totally normal.

Yes, because the reactions are completely over the top and full of hyperbole. A lot of posters have made their mind up about him to the extent they know they would complain and be wound up from his words before he utters a breath from his mouth.

I find that funny because it's an illustration of how irrational the hatred is.

What's your favourite ETH press conference trick?

Claiming the squad have made progress under him?
Declaring that we dominated/played well in every game where we were played off the park from start to finish and conceded 20-30 shots?
Calling the media embarrassing for questioning our performance in the semi final?

Yes. Label people that want him out as having irrational hatred.

I got message, enjoy newbies because I had post against EtH. Honestly I don't care, I am 41, what people on internet thinks me. But that was childish.

Is this a forum or echo chamber.

It's not echo chamber, you see more than 70% want EtH out. You got that reply from one person, better to report it or deal with him instead of questioning the entire forum.

I am not snitch, it goes on his soul.

But if we are snitching every Euro2024 post doesn't count newbies post. Is that on purpose or its bug?

Appointing Mourinho was probably worse than keeping Van Gaal. Should have appointed someone more similar.
LvG should have stay few more years. He was slowly turning us to possesion side. But our management and fans were to arrogant and wanted success right now.
I always had time for LvG and his coaching.

I cannot believe people who had seen us keep touting this line of thinking. EPL had not seen the concept of relentless pressing until then. We were fine keeping possession in our own half as most teams knew we would do nothing with the ball and let us keep it in area where it would not hurt them.

You could immediately see how our “possession” game came undone when Klopp came and started pressing us or when other teams decided to press us a bit more. We were nowhere near as good as people try to point out. It’s just that the teams in the PL were not really pressing us constantly like today. A lot of that has come with Pep and Klopp joining the PL.

Even under Eth we keep the ball fine as long as the opponent plays a mid block or low block.

Saw that post, that one person is a staunch delulu ETH acolyte. Just ignore them.

On the contrary if anything we would play better with LVG style if other teams press us all the time like now. The problem with his system was every team sat back against us in a deep block and we have zero way to break it down. That's how we ended up with zero shot in first half etc

Individual mistakes (and freak luck) cost us against Sevilla last season and Onana is mostly at fault for the CL failure.

Who would have thought that would happen, after Onana looked so good with Inter in CL?

The injuries up front were manageable, but not to the extend that we should have been competing for the title or such nonsense. At best our squad was going to get us 4th this season.

Yeah, it was everyone's fault besides the manager. Individuals, Onana, injuries, the tea lady etc. etc. etc.

The recruitment, style of play, the tactics, the in-game ineptness, the squad management, and more importantly the manager were all top notch.

ETH has won us enough games and got us to score enough goals. Players lost too many games and conceded too many goals.

It makes me mad that he hasn't been given the control of the club yet. An open contract where he decides how much he gets paid and when he can leave should be presented to him asap.

Actually we've been saved by player individual class much more often than by managers decisions.

We know how news and journalist love to talk about us and they don’t do that because they love us. They love drama and they love talking bad about us. I would have no problem denying them any place at press conference. We have banned journalists before and we can do it again.
There is time and place for everything. Taking about manager and future is not that this week. Unless people don’t care about TheFa Cup final and see that as some pre season. This is a chance to get a trophy against that other team. We should all be behind manager this week and not talk about some replacement. Who need enemies when you got friends like this. Right?

I do not see any manager available that will be a good choice for a 5 year project.
It will be 2 years with a new manager and then we will be back here again talking about players not doing their job and the coach needs to get sacked.
Get those players out and then change the manager if nothing improves next season without all the injuries.

We changed players. You can't change 25 players. Ten hag signed lot of players.

No but you need to start getting players like AWB, Lindelof, Casemiro, Rashford, Maguire + more out.
If a new coach comes in Rashford, Maguire, AWB + more will stay as a the new manager will want to make up their own opinion.

Ah this old chestnut. It never ceases to make absolutely no sense

Why? Can't the new manager drop them? New manager will anyways sign few players and only player he will have trouble dropping is Rashford and most fans want him benched or sold.

As is, Maguire, AWB, Lindelof are part players under EtH. Among the names you mentioned only Rashford was regular and he was the one who saved EtH first season.

Why would Ten Hag want to get rid of Rashford?

And this idea that if we hire a new manager that players "get a clean slate" is silly. As if the current manager is the only person on the planet who knows which players didn't play well this season. The minute he's sacked the rest of the world's population will instantly be stricken by some sort of mass amnesia.

If a new coach comes in Rashford, Maguire, AWB + more will stay as a the new manager will want to make up their own opinion.

So is the thinking keep Ten Hag and tank another season, because Erik knows who the fans are desperate to get rid of. And once they're out the door it's ok to sack Erik then. Because we cant risk a different/better manager being able to get better performances out of some players. Does that about sum it up?

By now every man and his dog knows that the whole setup is rotten. Ratcliffe himself admitted it and amends are being made. However that doesn't mean that the manager is flawless either. ETH demanded near full power as a condition of joining Manchester United. Yet here we are, in 8 place and probably with no European football to compete in. There's so many things that the manager is to be blamed for including his obsession with Eredivisie players, his obsession with playing 2 No 10s in CM and the way he mishandled the Sancho case. Don't take me wrong, Jadon should have been sold. However was it wise to spill things in the open which only contributed in him getting the loan move he wanted and us paying most of his salary?

The timing is quite odious TBF. Unfortunately there aren't many good managers available and there's too many clubs searching for a manager. That makes it a managerial market out there. That means that we either move quickly or we will end up digging in the thrash bin.

There's also a chance that ETH doesn't want to relinquish his power or having fully bought into the INEOS project. We mustn't forget that under ETH, Manchester United relied heavily on SEG ie the same agency that ETH works with and ETH's son works for. Hojlund is represented by SEG and it also helped in Amrabat's deal. Therefore I wonder if ETH would want to work with someone who doesn't give SEG a prominent role on transfers.

Who's gone?

Is this signings by managers or just players who played under managers?

Evans is a Ten Hag signing.

Fellaini and Mata I think were his two signings so he is the only manager without a player he gave a debut to at the club.

Evans counts, I don't care what any of you pricks say :D

McKennas back to back promotions into the Premier League with Ipswich is a bigger achievement than back to back Eredivese titles with Ajax, no question.

I would only fire him for a better manager who is a winner. Keep him one more year and sign Ancelotti next year because it is his last year with Real Madrid.

People need to stop with these 5 year projects built around a particular manager. Initially most managers don't even get 5 years contracts, they are more likely to get 2+1 contracts and the average tenure for a manager is around 3 years.

And managers deserve to get sacked when they fail to maximize their squads, that's their job, they are not personal shoppers.

You were told to enjoy the newbies because you gave childish comments, calling others a lawyer of ten hag instead of actually using rational debate. If you want serious replies you should start by making serious posts.
Its not because you were against ten Hag. Plenty arr
Yes. Label people that want him out as having irrational hatred.
Not all, just a subset.

Exactly. You earn 5 years, you don't get it as a default because Ten Hag signed Antony, Mount and Casemiro. Most managers never see out their contract, they're fired before it ends. I'm not sure why people think giving a manager x amount of time will improve things, especially if they're a shit manager or can't get the best out of the squad they have.

Why would Ancelotti want to join a team battling relegation? He's done that once with Everton. Also, what happens if the wheels fall off in November? Just keep him until the summer and hope Ancelotti has a soft spot for Manchester?

Why did he join Everton? You make it sound like Manchester United is Burnley. Any Manager would love to be here.

You make it sound like Manchester is Madrid. I'm not sure Don Carlo will be arsed about saving Manchester United at this stage of his career. He can probably pick any job after Madrid, he was going to Brazil until they renewed. I think he has different ideas along the lines of semi retirement next, not firefighting.

Imagine being willing to throw away another season, for any reason. Also, Ancelotti isn't coming here, and honestly, I'm not sure he'd succeed here anyway.

And we should sign some real Madrid cast offs while we're at it. It'd be incredible
