Can anyone seriously say theyve seen anything different compared to the football last season?

I've watched with close interest to gauge what system or changes in play and build up and I've seen nothing at all.

I just don't think the players have bought into his philosophy. However ultimately they aren't good enough that they are capable of changing their play style. It's like trying to teach an old dog new tricks, we need a major clear out.
No but if you said we've got a new manager and backed him with neither a CM, RB or any new attackers (given Greenwood and Ronaldo situations), the conclusion would be that we aren't serious / competent in our support for him.

Dalot has always been wank. Somehow he's first choice RB. Same with Mctominay and today even Fred sadly.

Worse than the quality, is the mentality of these players. They are weak minded. Always losing duels when it matters.

In ETH’s defence, which of the 11 players out there at Brighton would you keep apart from Erickson? This entire team is mid table fodder

Fraud of a manager. 50m+ on Martinez. Sticking with Mcfred, Rashford and Sancho.
Don't think he warns to stick with those players

Sancho thiugh has again been our best players albeit barely seem the ball

Tell you what Erik you can sign who you want but if you persist with McFred it’s only going one way.
His only solution is FDJ. Such a lack of knowledge of the game for a manager. Shocking that he got the job.

Deeply worried that even this guy went with Mctom and Fred. Moment he said Magurie has been ''really successful'' I started to get worried. Absolute shit show.

He now see how crap that midfield is in a real game. And pressure will be ramped up massively on the board to get players in if we lose today.

I do wish managers would drop this clean slate bullshit that helps these players survive every single time. We know what they are. Feck them off.

He wasn't influential in recruitment at Ajax. If the club were so ill-equipped that they needed him to identify targets for them then that's an indictment on the club rather than Ten Hag.

I think it is pretty clear that the players are devoid of self-belief. We started well, and one goal and we drop into a shell. Really need some personality in the team to fight through actual adversity. On top of that, the need for a number 6 and number 9 today are incredibly glaring.

Absolutely nothing is going to change as long as we're depending on the same core of players. We're entering the season thinking signing a 30 years old on free transfer who had just returned to the sport after a big incident is what's going to push the team from 6th to top 4. Nothing against Eriksen, he's a very good player but he's not the one who's going to transfer a shit team especially considering his age and situation.

We fecked up another season.

I can't believe this but when was the last time I couldn't give a shit about the Premier League starting ? United has killed my interest in this awful sport for good.

The face of a man who can’t quite believe how easily these players lose composure under pressure. Welcome to the last 3 years, Erik.

We needed 2 double pivot midfielders from the beginning. As sweet as martinez is on the ball a CB shouldn't been behind 2 midfielders on the priority list.
From my memory, we needed a midfielder since 2018. In the meantime we purchased:
  • 2 keepers (Grant, Heaton)
  • 2 left backs (Malacia, Telles)
  • 2 right backs (Dalot, AWB)
  • 3 centre-backs (Maguire, Varane, Martinez)
  • 3 attacking midfielders (Donny, Bruno, Eriksen)
  • 4 right wingers (Amad, Pellistri, Sancho, Dan James)
  • 3 strikers (Ighalo, Ronaldo, Cavani)
We also let go of:
  • Herrera
  • Fellaini
  • Pogba
  • Matić
  • A. Pereira
And ten Hag only sees De Jong as an option. Is he delusional?

Would adding de Jong to that midfield have made much of a difference today? I’m not so sure. Hopefully ETH knew the size of the job on his hands.

We have completed a full decade of being continuously shit and yet that's all you care about.
There was all this positivity around ETH when he signed, plenty of positivity during pre-season. We start the season poorly and now all of a sudden he’s shit.

Fickle. Absolutely fickle, fragile behaviour.

Feel sorry for him. He has a broken mess of a team and the club won't support him with the necessary competence.

Surely people calling for ten hags head are only doing it sarcastically ?

Sorry but he’s the one who picked the side.

Maguire over Varane is mind boggling.

Fred at #6 is laughable.

No striker is madness too.

We put in some semi decent performances initially against clubs that were fielding weakened teams. Then our form went to shit when teams took the pre seasons more seriously.

It's mind boggling that we're going into another season with the usual suspects that were horrific last season starting... you can't polish turds.

You took a head coach who wasn't in charge of transfers and put him in charge of transfers. You should have brought in Overmars alongside him who was director of football at Ajax. Why did Ajax have a better recruitment team than United have now?

The good thing is though, once he does get sacked we won't find it hard to sell all our players. He'll probably want them all at his next club so he doesn't have to work with anyone new

Our fanbase is horrid

He's potentially ruined his career by coming here. Moyes has just clawed back some credibility. Every manager fails, fans in the large crucify them and when a new manager comes they convince themselves that woeful players with worse attitudes will somehow improve. Rinse and repeat.

Every average fan knew what was needed this summer. It didn't happen. This is the result.

It baffles me how we're only after de Jong when we need at least two starting midfielders.

I mean look at the first touch by dalot on their first chance. Or by Fred and Mcotminay on consistent turnovers. He needs the revolution RR spoke about if we want to compete.

No one touching Overmars, he’s jobless for a long time now, not in football anyway

We talked about this before though. You told me the same exacts words and I told you I won't get positive until the actual season starts and I see actual changes on the pitch. Here we're, still fecking shit.

At this point it's your problem and few others here who keep believing these false dawns and getting their hopes up before actually waiting to see something positive on the pitch.
