Did you dip out of the CAF for the Jose era? There was no greater toxic period of time on the CAF.
Ironically, I do not remember Caf being as toxic as people claim, but that could be just confirmation bias considering that Mourinho was my favorite United manager. And despite I was very happy that we hired him, I wanted him sacked after the Sevilla game (so almost a year before he got eventually fired).

Very funny, seeing a game of football last 90min, your excuse is dogshite!
The narrative that they bottled it when in fact they lost to a better team makes it ridiculous
Oh they bottled it mate. Just as we almost bottled it to Coventry after being fully in control for 2/3 of the game.

Bayern wants both Rangnick and ETH, both of them Redcafe has decided they are idiots and poor managers. Maybe the general consensus of the Caf has got it wrong...
Bayern also sacked Nagelsmann and Tuchel before running back to both of them with their tail between their legs. Both of them turned them down. That isn't the picture of a well run club.

Bayern are in an extremely different situation and setup to Manchester United. Not everything is as linear as “if Bayern Munich want him he has to be good”.

No idea what your point is here. Or maybe you didn’t mean to respond to my post?

I was simply saying Ajax are not the sort of club that Spurs should not be expected to beat. So people crying that they lost to a Spurs side that also knocked out City need to wake the feck up
Agreed. The narrative I objected to was that Ajax should comfortably beat Spurs; that it was somehow a mark against 10Hag that they did not. Ridiculous.

Spurs had the better squad but honestly if you are leading 3-0 with one half to go, and you still lose, that is bottling it. It doesn’t matter who is on the other side (and Spurs were nothing special itself).

Based on what? Ragnick has gone on to alright at Austria and was by no means a flop when he managed before United. Bayern shortlisting him means he's not some fraud that was painted on the caf.

Yeah, the great Bayern. Sacked Naglesmann for the car crash that is Tuchel, have been speaking to coaches behind Tuchel's back. One transfer policy- decimate competitors in the one team league and ensure they have no way to compete next season. That Bayern.

Yeah you said the end of January, I didnt. I am and have been talking about the season as a whole. Hojlund and Fernandes finding some scoring form hasn't changed the limp and disjointed nature of our attack.

True, which is why I also added in we've only scored 3 or more 7 times for context. Most of our wins have been 1-0 or 2-1 because we're crap at attacking.

Its a bit of a silly conversation. I pointed out the improvement since Jan. I guess you acknowledge that which is why you want to look at the whole season (which I do not contest). Simply pointing out its not correct to act as if he has not been working on things all season the improvement in attacking output shows that.

On the defensive end its hard to judge correctly with all the injuries but we have been very poor.

All in all a very disappointing season but Im not the type to judge a manager on a single season. If he goes fine if he stays hopefully he improves next season

Caf rates Ange maybe they should have shortlisted him

There’s a hell of a difference between managing a national team with the pick of any player he chooses, to managing a club the size of Utd with all their problems and expectations.

I‘m not disagreeing that they bottled it, they could have done better in that half. I don‘t think it is a stick to beat 10Hag with.

They got themselves in a 3-0 position against a better squad.

The underlying numbers for Tuchel tells a different story.

Then it goes the other way to, "if failed at Manchester United, does not mean he is a poor manager."

He was an interim; people make too much of Rangnick‘s time here.

He's definitely lost his his head. Gone from saying all the right things to all the wrong things.

If that makes you feel better. But recent history here suggests he will follow suit with the managers who have preceded him who have failed to prove that isn’t the case.

I am pretty confident that this stint will be the highest point of his career. It’ll be a mediocre showing at his next job before he ends up back in Holland.

I mean it's clear he is rated in the industry, he's shortlisted by Bayern.
There is literally feck all to suggest he's some fraud of a manager except some knee jerk caf idiots who live in a club silo.

Ok I'll bite.
If a manager needs to get 100% of players HE wants to get us to acceptable level, then he should not be the manager of Manchester United.

This quote doesn't make it better for Ten Hag, I think he's losing it.
There’s not a single manager in world football who even gets close to the first choice player he wants for every position. Not even Pep.

Oh dear looks like I’ve stumbled upon Rangwick‘s only fan

And people here believe that he will accept a secondary role in recruitment just because we have new owners and have appointed Wilcox, Ashworth and Berrada.

If he stays (which he will unless Bayern take him) and we work under the model everyone has been suggesting (club buying players) we will be back to where we are now in a years time because ‘you cannot judge him for not being able to work with players he did not pick’.

He should want Kane: we are MU. We are just not in a position where we can get those players right now.

Plan B is buy potential and look for deals. It will be interesting to see which striker we will be in for this summer.

Eh? I don't need to be a fan of Ragnick to know that there are a lot of exaggerative posts from armchair fans who don't actually know much outside of a club silo.
Also don't need to be a fan to know that qualified people at Bayern Munich would know more than these posters would.

Well if he doesn’t, then he’s 100% going. Forget performances and results, if he still thinks he’s going to get a free pass on signing more SEG players and spending a summer chasing Frenkie de Jong, he won’t be here.

Good for you …hope you’ll both be happy together

Oh no he isn't.

I'll be forever a Rangnick fan for what he did at Hannover

Essentially his team at the time was the reason why I became a fan:drool:

So did we. Remember? That’s was the plan. But ETH didn’t want to work with Rangnick because of his massive bald ego.

That should have been a bit of red flag right from the off really, I always thought the payoff for having Rangnick as the manager would have been the knowledge he could have passed on to Ten Hag, yet he seemed to dismiss it out of hand.

Everyone knows Rangnick was hired in the wrong post at United, yet knew exactly what he was talking about when it came to what the club needed.

He's definitely lost his his head. Gone from saying all the right things to all the wrong things.

I hate this line of argument. Klopp hasn't signed everyone he wanted at Liverpool. Pep hasn't signed everyone he wanted at City.

This is an excuse for failing managers, who aren't transfer specialists. Perhaps if we had Rangnick for a couple of years, given his experience at board room level he could feel aggrieved to have not got who he wanted. All of our other managers don't have skillset or the right to be getting all the players they want.

He's definitely lost his his head. Gone from saying all the right things to all the wrong things.

That's what you do when you're trying to wash your hands of something and get out without blame. Someone should ask him who the feck wanted Mount, Onana, Amrabat, Antony and Malacia.

He's definitely lost his his head. Gone from saying all the right things to all the wrong things.

None of our past managers got every player they wanted, not even Ferguson.

All the excuses imply that every single condition must be perfect for him to perform to an acceptable standard.

Every player he wants must be signed. No player can ever be injured. It's fecking ludicrous the nonsense that this prick comes out with to defend his failure. It's even more ludicrous than anyone is stupid enough to buy into it.

Nobody with a clue on here thought Rangnick was a fraud. He just wasnt a good head coach on a day-to-day basis. He's a director or an international manager because those are mostly office jobs.

Maybe easy for ETH's support group to forget this but he is the one who refused to work with Rangnick. He latched onto Murtough because he was the obedient yes-man who would give him the players he asked for.

Perhaps "the Structure" above the manager would have been better had he contained his ego and not refused to work with Rangnick, and his vastly superior football brain.

He got Eriksen, Malacia, Martinez, Casemiro, Antony, Mount, Onana, Amrabat, Hojlund. Not Frenkie de Jong but club pushed for it it's just the player did not want the move. If we got Kane, we wouldn't have money for Mount or other midfield target ten Hag wanted. Liverpool wanted Bellingham but player wanted Real Madrid so you get someone else and work with it. It's a lousy excuse. Only legitimate excuse for him is our injuries in defence and Mount being out most of the season.

I didnt say that we would chalenge for EPL or CL tittle every year, but we would be in better position every year. Top 4, or at least good chance to get it. Even Klopp didnt get top4 every season.

We are 8th with goal difference of +1. Football structure is important but in the end it is manager who decides tactics on the field. Jim can asemble all the best people but if we have manager who insist playing 14141 formation there is no help.
