"It was for the neutral an amazing game. A fantastic football game with a lot of quality."

Quality? You're not in the Dutch league anymore

"Manchester United dominated the game but we made individual errors that cost us the game."

Dominated? Less possession, less shots, less corners. Less touches. Less passes. Less chances. Plonker

"We have to learn from it. When you are a Man Utd player you should already know how to deal with this circumstance."

That's why you coach players, so they know what to do in every situation. Obviously they don't know how to deal with it because it keeps happening.

"I enjoyed how my team were playing, it was fantastic. We dominated the ball, we dominated the opponent."

As delusional as a fecking flat earther

"In five days we dropped five points. That is unacceptable. We should have a high standard if we want to compete for Champions League football."

We should have higher standards? Finally something we agree on. That's why we must sack you ASAP
I was hoping he would at least come out swinging.

Nor me. For the first time ever, I have no excitement, no looking forward, no faith. It's the worst season I can remember, and I'm assured that we played better in the year we were relegated.
Agree

I want to side step jibes that come my way? I've quoted a few head on mate. I just won't get pulled into circular debates when I'm exhausted from a defeat. Be an adult about it and move on.

You’ve been dishing it out all season with OTT posts like the one below so just take it on the chin now that you’ve been proven wrong.

I genuinely think wel go unbeaten (or close to) in our next 7 games, winning the majority and the same knee jerk fans wanting him out will probably want to perform fellatio on him.

It was a penalty only in the sense that it was given, but it shouldn't have been. The 'contact' that apparently knocked him over, if it happened at all, happened because Dalot was falling himself. The 'tap' on his boot, again if it happened at all, did not have any effect on his balance or his ability to play the ball.

The first penalty was even less of a penalty, how there wasn't a full review of that is absurd. There is no point in VAR if it's going to let nonsense decisions like that go.

In real time it looks like a penalty, slow motion replays never give the right angle or interpretation of the impact of the contact. But he gets wring side, falls/slips and clips him from behind, it's a penalty.

He should have dragged him down on the wing.

Yes knee jerk reactions tend to have a lottery of being right sometimes and wrong sometimes. What's your point.

Lets be honest, they are usually wrong. It is just that not many people have to time or desire to scroll back to find some knee jerk reactions and tell them that they are wrong

Hardly knee jerk when we’ve been shit for over a year
But he's told you already, he doesn't want to admit he was wrong. I mean, he doesn't want to get into a circular debate (where he admits he was wrong).

Don't need leaders to know in the 95th minute to run a ball to the corner, or keep possession or not leave players completely unmarked on the edge of the area.
We did the same against Brentford, once bitten!

Tough to see anything but the 'sack on the cheap when CL is mathematically impossible' routine playing out at this stage.

I don't even believe how we can have such obvious problems and he just hasn't changed anything about the way we play all season. That Wolves game has essentially played out 30 times, give or take the luck we had in that match.

I want to side step jibes that come my way? I've quoted a few head on mate. I just won't get pulled into circular debates when I'm exhausted from a defeat. Be an adult about it and move on.
You’ve been militant about the injuries and giving Ten Hag more time in the face of a mountain of data and our performances for months now. You decide today you’ve had enough of it and want to backtrack on everything you said because you’ve run out of patience all of a sudden.

I’m not going to give you shit for it mate, but you must appreciate that other people are because they’re tired of the bollocks that has been spouted in his defence.

It’s terrible, he’s been absolutely terrible, he deserves to go and has done for some time. Personally I’m glad you’re finally of that opinion because it means he’s definitely finished if the excuses aren’t washing anymore.

Sacking ETH is all well and good but these players can’t keep getting away with it, season after season.

Which players are you referring to? The team that started today was:

Onana - EtH
Dalot - Mourinho
Maguire - Ole
Varane - Ole
Bissaka - Ole
Casemiro - EtH
Mainoo - EtH
B. Fernandes - Ole
Garnacho - Ragnick
Hojlund - EtH
Antony - EtH

and the subs were:

Mount - EtH
Rashford - LvG
Mctominay - Mourinho
Kwambala - EtH
Evans - EtH

If he thinks the quality of the football was high then the man is fully delusional. Would also explain why he’s not changing his suicidal tactics. He needs to go ASAP.

He's got to go. Simple game management,

He's got to go, simple game management. He hasn't got a clue

It would be negligent to keep him into next season now. There's no green shoots of positivity. I don't see any hope or reason to give him more time. He's flopped.

In real time it looks like a penalty, slow motion replays never give the right angle or interpretation of the impact of the contact. But he gets wring side, falls/slips and clips him from behind, it's a penalty.

He should have dragged him down on the wing.

Slow motion replays are at the same angle as the real time views because they're from the same cameras.

Lots of things look like a penalty in real time, it's only in slow motion replays that you can see the details.

I'm not saying it was great defending, I'm saying it wasn't a penalty.

I beg to differ. It is the coach responsibility tl drill those into the players both mentally and in actual play. Pep is successful as he is extremely micromanaging on this players in every step they do. That is their job. ETH failed to understand the issue and fix them. He just wait for individual moment of magic to save his day. You can't be lucky for every game and ultimately still boils down to proper coaching, structure and plan to ensure consistency performance and result. Something that I have not personally seen for the past 2 years that he took over, not even any sign of improvement.
In general, yes. The coaching overall isn’t working, whether it’s down to the players or coach is basically irrelevant at this point, the manager will go. Ten Hag was known as a very good coach previously, so I don’t have high hopes for whoever comes in. The players don’t seem to be able to do what he wants, I don’t believe that somehow he is asking the impossible.

He’s gone from looking fresh last season to having noticeable bags under his eyes. This club destroys managers. When Ten Hag leaves and goes on to win more trophies elsewhere, we’ll be sat wanting him as our next manager when whoever next fails!
The manager market is absolutely dire this year, if the options are potter or Southgate - I’m sticking every day of the week with Ten Hag!

I don't see this happening, it might, but I'd be surprised and shocked if its at the top level.

We were having a good season then and everything seemed positive that’s why he survived that result.
Now everything is absolutely shite, there’s no way he’s here next season.
We were curbstomped by City a few months before that, 6-3 was an extremely flattering result. Could have been way worse if City didn`t stop playing around the hourmark after having scored their 6th goal.
We were played off the pitch by Brentford, losing 4-0.
We lost in EL to a very beatable Sevilla side.
Brighton played us off the pitch as well, lost both games iirc
We had loads of games where we didn`t play that well, but we managed to grind out results a bit more often.
”Everything seemed positive” is being extremely kind to Erik.
This feckin season has been a nightmare from start to finish, there have been loads of time i have felt that he just has to go, we just have to try something. But nah, here he is, still. I hope you are correct but i am not holding my breath.

He's not a top manager and never has been. Those saying he'll thrive at another club are nothing short of delusional.

Terrible game management and some woeful substitutions. He threw away the result.

I feel similar. I don't even care anymore. I was a big fan of his talk about people earning their place, and you only get chances if you deserve them, but we've seen that doesn't really apply. I'd be happy for him to upset a few more of the babies in the team to encourage them to leave in the summer, but he should be joining them.

Yes, he certainly doesn't follow the mantra he preaches.

I hope he goes now as ultimately I'm not sure who will come in and if they will be better, but I'm pretty sure ETH will never get us beyond challenging for top 4 regardless of structure and resources.

Hope we can tempt Nagelsman. No doubt we will move on this slowly and be left with either Potter or Southgate.

We’ve been involved in more 4-3’s this season than the last 10 years put together*.

We’re chaos merchants, and it simply isn’t sustainable. The manager has to take a chunk of the blame for that.

With that said, he’s been handed a brand new shit sandwich every week. The stuff he’s had to deal with is unprecedented. Surely it can’t be this bad next season, if we let him see out his last year…?

*could be bullshit, but it sounds like it could be true

The problem is that one or two injuries to a couple of players and our guy panics big time. He starts mismanaging the rest of the squad, rushing people back from injury, leading to more injuries for everyone.

It's a death spiral

At the point I've stopped listening to his post match interviews/conferences. It's like he wrote the script before the match was played.

I feel Ole could do a job on Pep with current players. Bring him in to win the cup!

"Manchester United dominated the game but we made individual errors that cost co us the game."

"I enjoyed how my team were playing, it was fantastic. We dominated the ball, we dominated the opponent."

These are the quotes that really deflate me. He genuinely sees no wrong in how we play every game, and these performances, in his eyes, constitute “domination”. I don’t know how we can progress under this philosophy of stubbornness.

Another antithetical sentence, if the club destroys managers how can Eth win when moving elsewhere? Assess the context of his management, he did well in a very limited competitive environment and the his best in Europe was a UCL semi-final. Poch got to a UCL final and had Spurs regularly in top four for consecutive seasons and he doesn't have the pedigree to take United forward. This is Erik's judgement at an elite club, this idea he's a shell of himself is nonsensical.

His whole team set up is so chaotic that even if we line up with prime Maldini, Nesta at the back with prime Davids and Redondo to protect them we would still concede 25 plus shots on goal.

Tbf I'm happy for half the ETH ones to go and all the non- (bar Garnacho).

I don’t blame ETH for everything that has gone wrong this season. Injuries have had a huge impact and certain individuals have let the team massively. But the tactics we are employing weekly are just reckless and no way to consistently get results. We ship chances for fun and we are begging to get a trouncing somewhere.

I don’t know what INEOS wants to do at this stage. This is their project and they will want their man in charge; this is their excuse to do just that. However, I am still looking at the managerial field this summer and am not entirely sure who replaces ETH.

Pressing reset? What are we going back to? We’re rock bottom. Press reset, press fecking eject, press delete. Purge the manager and get someone else in.

Ten Hag has been terrible this season, but I'd put my last pound on Southgate or Potter been equally as bad, so why do we want to start the process all over again with either of them?

If we start getting linked with anyone of note then I'll maybe get on board, until then I'd rather just stick with what we've got and hope the new setup makes a difference.

These are the quotes that really deflate me. He genuinely sees no wrong in how we play every game, and these performances, in his eyes, constitute “domination”. I don’t know how we can progress under this philosophy of stubbornness.
He also said we played brilliantly. The guy is deluded or spinning. Either way he needs to feck off

This is beyond joke:lol: what an utter pisstake.

Nothing about our football is sustainable or looks well trained or thought out. I can't believe after two years this is where we're at, and still look this poor at the basics.
