Our underlying metrics are all awful.

I don't think some realize just how abysmal we've been this season.

ETH's management this season is deplorable in so many ways. If you swapped him with Moyes, I highly doubt we'd be worse off. That's how bad he's been this season.

That performance might have been the single worst performance in the post SAF era. It was that bad.

If Utd were 12/13th it wouldn't be unfair based on performances. Really been quite terrible for the majority of most games.

ETH thinks this could be a "very good point in the end". Still thinks we're chasing a CL spot

Putting a bit of perspective onto things

- ETH has been at United for 23 months now
- Spent a big amount of money
- Had 9/11 starters starting today
- played one of the worst teams in the league, arguably the worst on form and got our backside kicked
- 0 goal difference after 29 games , 40 goals

- 8 points off 5th
- 4th in the group in CL

We have no real style, are one of the most lethargic teams in the league

please tell me one good reason to keep him
Well we still haven't seen his United team with De Jong though. He is going to solve all our problems, we just need to try harder in the summer to get ETH what he wants.

Give Nagelsmann all he wants. Prevent him going back to Bayern. Also get a caretaker in until the summer.

I still think he’s a great coach. What we saw at Ajax was everything we wanted, he ticked every box.

Yet currently we’re playing like a bunch of individuals that met for the first time in the tunnel.

Well whose job is it to make sure that isn't the case?

They've been coached by the same giy for going on 2 years.

I think it’s mental that people want to keep him because they are worried about who would replace him.

Id rather have Ole back and supported by INEOS than persist with Ten Hag.

Ole's lack of plan was better than the ETH lack of plan.

He took over an Ajax team that missed out on the league by one point. It's not as if they were miles of it. He won the league with Ajax, but it's the Eredivisie and it's Ajax.

His clout largely comes from a singular CL run - where he lost to fecking Spurs. No evidence of this so called "great coach" at United.

This guy is one of the biggest myths around man.

Wow.....I think I've finally flipped......I think I want him out. I understand his side is shite but surely he should still be able to get something out of them and I do believe the players don't care and are probably trying to get him sacked. Half this squad needs to leave as well. It's irresponsible for this club to sack another manager without sacking many of the players.

I'm just afraid who they will get to replace him.

He needs to go but anyone thinking that alone will fix this club are only fooling themselfs. At least half the squad needs to go with him and that includes all of our so called star players.

If it’s “just Ajax” and they win it every year, just remind me where they are right now?

Let’s not downplay what he did there. Everyone was rubbing themselves silly when he arrived.

Does he think it goes down to 6th or something?
Or hasn't he been looking at the table?

Or does he think we're going to win 7 of the last 9?

Southgate is what I felt about OGS being replaced by that doughnut Rodgers. It's bad but it can get worse, so let's not do that.

Still sack him though.

Right, the same Ajax that sold the core of the title winning team? Are you OK?

I've thought that too.

I think everyone knows we've had a bad season but I don't think they realise how bad.

The results have been awful but the performances have been twice as bad. Must be about 80% of our wins this season I've come away thinking we got dead lucky. We're fortunate to be as high as 6th.

That's because we'd tried the "legendary" manager approach of Van Gaal and Mourinho, the ex player legend, Ole and the "pick a geezer the same nationality as your all time legend manager and hope they're somehow as good for some reason" approach.

Everyone wanted us to go for the exciting potential worldly upcoming option, not the stale Poch type route.

It was the right decision, just hasn't worked beyond a couple of purple patches.

Record breaking

It's actually funny how bad this is. No defence of that sort of game plan really. I was wondering when he'd do something, even putting McT in a two with Hojlund up top and going long would have even positive. Just SOMETHING to change the dynamic.

Tuchel was right though. You’ve got to be realistic. Otherwise people start to think you’re going insane.
I dunno. When you’ve got players who don’t look arsed already, I feel like telling them they’ve got nothing to play for isn’t the best idea

Brentford had more injuries but yet the injury excuse will be rolled out soon

His biggest mistake I think is not switching to a more solid formation earlier in the season. I think the tactics he wants to implement can be done but only with specific types of players e.g. De Jongs etc. We just don't have those players in all the positions and especially not when we have so many injuries. I think he probably should have reverted to a more compact version of last season's tactics until we got specifically the likes of Martinez and Mount back.

I think this is probably correct. It seems clear it isn’t going to work out for him, but to say Ten Hag is a shit coach and has always been a shit coach is mad.

From day 1 v Wolves we were utterly annihilated through the centre of the pitch and run off it like we were Sunday league versus Olympians.
But it's becoming more obvious every week we can't keep conceding 20-30 shots every game.

This is all with us thinking we've found a new star in midfield too!

He seemed to have gambled on the Casemiro-Mount-Bruno triple from day 1.

It didn't look like it'd work from day 1, but 2 of the 3 have barely been available all year to boot.

Regardless of how well he did there, he is doing a really poor job this season. The pl is a completely different level to the eredivisie

Well I'm glad I didn't watch that shite. The vaguely warm feeling that was growing towards him after the pool game, shattered.

He got lucky tonight, I have horrible feeling he will keep his job but the underlying statistics and performances these results gloss over will just see him sacked after disastrous start next season when his luck runs out.

I don't really know why we were so shit today. Feels like everyone went on international duty, had fun, and were a bit depressed coming back. There's no joy in the team.

The doomsday clock on ETH's tenure definitely ticked a second closer to midnight.
