They've been doing double sessions as well as hours and hours of video analysis.
Tomorrow will be completely different to anything we saw last season.
I think you're a bit cluelesss if you think the entirety of something new by way of team performance is down to training alone.
I've watched us for over 5 years with multiple different coaches and players and looked just as clueless from the 1st day to the end of last season.

It will be different. It is still just pre season. Game 1. Week 2 of training. Against Liverpool, who are miles better and have arguably the best coach in the world, and better players in every position.

There are lots of examples of coaches coming in during a season and are able to improve performances very quickly.
Obviously you and others on here have hung your hat on Ralf doing a competent job and last season was all the players fault so I could understand why you wouldn't expect much change tomorrow.

Training and coaching are similar things but one of the biggest impacts would be how players are eager to impress the new manager.
Its a preseason so you cant read too much into it. But Ten Hags system will take more than one or two weeks training to show tangible effect. That has feck all to do with Rangnick, by the way.
I wish he had like two months of a preseason to really get all of his ideas across to the whole squad.. I really hope he gets a couple of season here to building his squad playing his game

This is spot on. Tuchel came in during the busiest time in the calendar and they had something of an identity from his very first game. Yes, we’re obviously not going to be the finished article right away, but a pre season is more than enough time to overhaul the playing style to a fair degree.
I think he will be shocked by how low the squad's level is at the moment but expect him to be more pragmatic than Rangnick was since he has to make the best of it long term.

I have full faith in Ten Hag and feel a manager is the most important thing. I'm saying it's literally the 1st game of pre season after 2 weeks of training, against a vastly superior team with a great manager... Lower the expectations for this. We hope Ten Hag can do what Klopp has done with Liverpool. I believe he can make us successful again. It doesn't happen in 2 weeks of pre season in what is a training exercise.

I have a good feeling this is the real deal. The training, the detail, you could be watching Pep and his coaches. The match I think we will probably lose. Its a tough opening game and they are going through the gears, while our lot are just getting first proper training in a long while. As long as its not a high scoring loss (even though its the enemy), won't be too worried. Its getting to put into practice what they have been taught this last week and a bit.
I read this article and I feel it provides some insight on the overlap/similarity in the type of drills our players are doing when compared to Liverpool. There is also a part in the article which mentions that our players are much slower to react and the intensity/communication in general is lower than when Liverpool players are doing similar/same drills. This is to be expected and we should really taper our expectations. I feel with a few correct signings that know how to play ETH's system, I would be happy to see a defined style of play being displayed by the team this season and I expect teething problems to be there. I am expecting no miracles whatsoever.

Do we really need to shoot Ole just to praise another manager? Ole never discussed tactics because he didnt want the opponents to know what tactics he was using. Less said, the better. And before people drop the Ole "was clueless about tactics" line again, this is a manager who played 4-3-3, 4-4-2 diamond, 3-5-2 and 4-2-4 to adapt to his team's abilities and our opponent's tactics, achieving 3rd and 2nd in his last 2 full seasons. Unfortunately tactics can only help you if the players are are mentally are physically in the right frame, which was not the case last season.
Coming to ETH, I am quite impressed on his approach to discipline. Training methods is one thing but ensuring that the players are able to keep up requires discipline, which he is very good in instilling. He is making players reflect on their mistakes by using disciplinary drills. Its like a military approach which will ensure the players are always ready to follow instructions as per the gameplan.
I hope he can improve on what we have here already. Likes of Sancho, Bruno, Shaw, Varane are quality players. Find ways to incorporate Hannibal, Amad, Garner, Laird and improve on the others like Rashford and Elanga. That team is young enough to adapt and should be really exciting if it clicks.
