Spot on criticism about the managers responsibility that changing the structure isn't going to rectify.

We got dominated, their wingers has a field day against our fullbacks. They were able to overload and create space and their struggle to contain them. Frankly speaking, we are lucky to come out with a draw. Garnacho wasn't effective, he was own by their fullback who has pace and physicality. Rashford always 1 v 2 situation. It was a properly coached team which ETH couldn't make adjustment. I think ETH is the worst on-field manager that I have ever seen, he cannot adjust his formation and tactics. He needs to analyse what is happening and tell players tell what to do. Spurs continues to dominate in the 2nd while we struggle to make any head way. Time to go Erik, your stint with United means no big clubs will ever hire you.

The home team on the pitch looked like they had no clue what they were doing, were disjointed, and lost. Spurs were, as Gary Neville loved telling us, the much better team who transitioned, attacked, and defended much better.

Unlike us, every Spurs player knew what to do both in and out of possession - I did not know it was possible to do that when half your team is out with injuries.

EtH's response was to bring on Scott McTominay, who made things even worse.

This manager has no tactical ability, no man management skills, no eye for talent, no squad building vision, and no charisma. Injuries cannot explain last night's result.

He needs to go.

Very sad to say that now I am officially also on the sack ETH train. It is so obvious that we dont have a structure or way of playing that it doesn't really matter the players you have. We have since day been dependendt on individual performances to gain us point but if we have to build for the future we need a style of play the whole team including youth players can learn, develop and utilize....

We started the match with no left sided defenders (for the umpteenth time this season).

It's not surprising that, once Martinez was introduced, we looked better and Spurs grip on midfield loosened. The balance will be fully restored when we can play Shaw and Casemiro too.

We've never really played good football under ETH.
Rashford's moments of brilliance carried us last season.
We were defensively solid also so didn't conceded much.

We played well in first half but that second half we were outclassed. I was expecting similar performance like the one vs Aston Villa because Spurs play high line but yesterday especially the 2nd half has been massively disappointment. Getting bullied by midfield of Hojbjerg and Skipp is embarrassing. Neither is good enough to even play for Man United, yet we made them look like prime Xavi and Busquets in Old Trafford. I'm still ETH in but yesterday the question will be on ten Hag how we are getting bullied in midfield by Hojbjerg and Skipp. Time will only tell if the come back of Casemiro or may be even Mount will see big difference in midfield. I know Martinez would be a massive upgrade of Evans. Eriksen and Evans were look like dead man walking in that second half.

Honestly convinced that some of you still defending him should go follow a different sport. Or you're the biggest WUMs I've ever seen.

He is a disgrace of a manager. Easily the worst manager we've had post-SAF. That's how bad his management has been this season.

Spurs missing their best players come into Old Trafford and dominate the game. Meanwhile, this conman and his fans continue to play the injury excuse.

He has zero credit in the bank to remain manager. Woeful manager. Even the crowd today had enough of hm.

Pundits on SkySports calling Ten Hag lack of tactics now. This game of "Moments FC" vs "6 months in a new club and already showing good patterns of play even when missing many key players" is the final nail in the coffin imo. There's nobody who stil believes in Ten Hag at this point.

Also I think Neville made a good points, interesting comment about Van Gaal (that he implemented a clear style of play, and here there's just no real idea where this team is going, it's just random all around).
Under Van Gaal we dominated teams possession wise but we rarely score but under ETH we got dominated by small teams while having minus GD. Also LVG always perform against big teams while currently we almost always got hammered like a pornstar. There is no comparison here. Im not saying we are good under LVG but compared to ETH he might as well be Guardiola

There was only one team with a clear style of play yesterday and it was not ETH’s United. To have 30++% possession of the ball the entire game is a disgrace. Get this joker out, he doesn’t know what he’s doing

Shown up by a superior manager after already being shown up by Ange in the summer, Howe multiple times, De Zerbi multiple times, Iraola, Tuchel, Hodgson, Nuno, Arteta and Moyesie.

People still think he needs time to get his squad fully fit somehow

This should be the turning point in the deluded fanbase, ETH can’t play it his way because of injuries, whatever his was is couldn’t honestly tell you, it’s more moments than a cohesive coherent style, but then spurs under ange play the same way no cbs ok missing Maddison and son ok we play it the way we trained to play it.

At this point, his player selections and tactic make it seems like he's trying to get sacked.

Got the same vibe when other ex-managers have given up and just wanted to get paid and leave.

I swear we're the only club out there who has dumb feck pass maps like this on a regular basis. Doesn't matter who the personnel are, people tried to blame it on McTominay but it's instructions. Everyone run forward, 1 guy deep in midfield hopefully he can make it work.

Ten hag hasn't realized yet that this will never work in the premier league. Thinks because it worked in the Eredivisie that it'll work here.

We don't have the players to make high pressing, high possession style work, so a coach like this won't make anything much differently to ETH.
This statement is not true. Proven wrong tonight. Richarlison, Werner, Brennan Johnson, Hojberg, Skipp, Bentancur can play that way.

When Brighton beat us 1-3 at OT playing the high possession style with Welbeck, Gross, Steele, Veltman, Gilmour, March. These players aren’t better than what we have.

We are being severely under-coached.

I'm inching closer and closer towards EtH Out. He's had terrible luck with injuries, but 1. his transfers and the money spent have not worked out. Martinez the only redeeming one, 2. with or without injuries, managers have their teams playing a certain way. It doesn't seem so at United. No game plan. Every match the players seem like they're playing with each other for the first time. What the actual feck is going on in training?!, 3. Playing his favourite players even when they are woefully out of form. McT shouldn't be close to a United first 18 names each match squad. Rashford has been complete dross. Bruno, meh. Can we just clear out the entire fecking team and play the reserves?

The football is brutal and even now, I can’t figure out what on earth he wants to play like. Absolutely woeful manager.

It's the time of both first subs made. We made ours in the 60th and theirs in the 80th. So it is representative of the team that both managers put out and their initial game plan.

I see now yeah. State of it.

If I am not mistaken, one of his first quotes was about attacking football, total high-press, never play backwards, make the squad one unit. I really can’t see any of it. Somewhere in the process he deluded himself to play the same horrible football, as our prior managers.
Come on ETH, believe in your system, get some energy in it, use the youth if our players isn’t fast enough. Our midfield is total off positions. McT always run blindfolded into the box, Fernandes running headless around - but at least run a lot. Both Minoo and Eriksen is way to deep, they need to trust the build up and make them free to get the ball. Our fullback are so static, always run on a straight line forward and backwards. We are so easy to defend in the attacking football and way to stupid in the defense.

Stop it with the transfernonsense already.

Martinez is first name on team sheet.
Hojlund is exciting young prospect, already has 7 goals and a couple of assists in his first 5 months for us at 20years old!
Malacia is the very least decent squad player.
Casemiro did incredibly well last season and is priceless experienced presence. Just imagine how much Mainoo will learn from him amd Eriksen.

Onana came here after incredible season with Inter. He made bad mistakes but also showed brilliant moments. He hasn't had two games in a row with the same defence. Way too early to call him a failure, right?

Mount has bad luck with iniuries and we are yet to see him in regular action. Wait until then to judge him maybe?

And yes, Antony has failed badly.

Rest has been loans.

Not nearly as badly spent money as people claim. And it's clearly not ETH fault most transfers were overpriced.

Believe it or not, the squad is good. Also ETH introduced and develops Garnacho and Mainoo, hopefull there are more youngsters to come.

Yes, season is bad. Yes, ETH has lost his way and clearly whatever he wants to do is not working great. Yes, he should go if he doesn't perform better now with most squad available.

But many comments here are simply lazy and hateful.

Said it before but the damage is done in the summer(s).

McTom/Eriksen Bruno and an 18 year old is not a midfield.

Casemiro and Rashford's goals last season mask many fundamental issues. Going into this season we're one injury to Casemiro and being in the gutter and here we are. If you subscribe to Case is finished it's the same outcome/problem, the Case from last season is no longer here so we're left with a more knackered Eriksen. With Eriksen we saw last season he was good for 45. Now it's about 30 min once a month, McTom not midfielder no defensive or passing qualities, average attack mid. Bruno overused past his peak playmaker that needed reigning in long ago, no discipline or ability to keep or carry the ball.

It's no wonder we're getting outplayed.

ETH and the club should've been concentrating highly on midfield and removing McTom and Eriksen so we can compete and pass and not role the dice on Case. He wanted De Jong but there's lots of teams playing well without De Jong, alternatives should've sought. His initial instincts we're right but we've gone three sheets to the wind since that long chase for De Jong.

When he's gone we really need to fix the midfield and take a season out on the chin if needed, stop trying to fix things quickly with aging players or putting hope on expensive attackers like Sancho and Antony. Get better ball playing fullbacks. Once we have a good core we can utilize our attack. This kick and rush football has to stop.
Not sure we even need to focus on personnel because even with another better midfielder ten hags approach of lining up with two high 8s would still be suicidal

As I keep saying.

It's pointless changing managers in the short term whilst there's a wider review of the club going on.

That being said, there is a limit to that.

He was the flavour of the year when fans were infatuated with his Ajax teams and playing style, which led to almost the entire Caf wanting this guy over Pochettino (not that I want Poch, he’s also crap). Now he’s been found out to be a disaster and he’s labelled a fraud. To be fair, the club too went with the overwhelming favourite among the fanbase and appointed him as manager. Proves that we all know absolutely nothing about appointing managers (after van Gaal, after Jose, after Rangnick). Let’s hope this new ownership knows what it’s doing when it comes to hiring the next man

The worst thing is that the Spurs midfield was the exact same last season and we absolutely battered them at OT. Their attack wouldn't start for any other top-half team in the league but they still comfortably outplayed us.

We have no zip in our passing, no midfield structure, no idea in how to construct overloads on the wings with consistency and play zero vertical passes into midfield. Awful stuff.

This is it. All three of them make it absolutely clear. It's quite obvious.

We have some decent players and ETH is not getting anything out of them. There must be a reason for that. And that isn't injuries, or the Glazer's etc. That is coaching and management. And ETH knows it. I understand that he stated that he feels we should have won yesterday! What game is he watching?

We are getting worse and worse, but players that can really make a difference are coming back so in the end I expect us to do better soon. Ten Hag's United is all about moments and relies on individuals so that's the only hope left for me at the moment.

He says the same deluded shit after every game. He always thinks we played well. Makes me laugh that he has the audacity to talk about setting standards at the club, yet he doesn't apply any standards to himself

Highly doubt he actually thinks we're playing well. Managers say shit all the time in press conferences that they don't believe.

I want to see us play with a fully fit XI, with Martinez now back, and Casemiro also nearing full fitness, I will judge EtH after a few games with his strongest XI.
If the play does not improve, then I will hold my hands up and say: okay, maybe we just overperformed last season & found our (consistent) level under him this year.

Please don’t post links to those cretins . It doesn’t add any credibility to a point somebody wants to make.

Even if they are right , it feels like my IQ points go down 50% just listening to them.

Arguably worse teams squadwise show that they have been well drilled and coached into peforming in a specific system. Like Neville says, there is no sign of any automatisms, it all is spur of the moment-improvisation but no coherent patterns of play, even no game plan visible. Either the tactics are to complex for our players, or players like Bruno just cannot help themselves playing this non-style (then he should be dropped immediately) or there simply is no system and therefore no process ...

Woke up feeling even more clear and certain, it's time to go. But I fully expect him to keep his job till the summer, where we will part ways with him.

Next appointment, first under the new structure, no pressure lads.

We will no doubt look better with a fully fit squad, but in my mind we cannot be content with a manager that only performs when the squad is fully fit. With the amount of games and the level of the prem that will rarely be the case for any team.

Even with Martinez, Shaw and Casemiro back in the Starting XI, I just don't see the largely terrible football stopping.

Our pressing is laughable, we get played through so easily, our decision making on the ball is mostly poor, we can't defend set-pieces... basically unless a) All of our front 3 play well in the same game and b) We're running on emotion/adreneline, we're just a bit shit.
