Erik ten Hag | 2022/23 & 2023/24

There are signs in every game that he is absolutely clueless in setting his team to play in Premier league. I said it few times, and I will say it again, he has no idea how to play in Premier league, he doesn't understand PL football, and considering his Dutch stubbornes I seriously doubt he will ever accept to change something, so long term it's easily better to get rid.

We get to the final third and shit the bed. Give us West Ham's front three and we win easily, in my opinion.

That's no disrespect to our attacking players, but it's clear that ours are badly out of form. Either that, or not good enough.

Garnacho Hojlund Antony is a back up/third choice front line for any big club at best

You can be both in control and have no cutting edge…
Oooh please.. Its because Westham did let us have the ball, because they know we can't done anything with it.

In OVER 1 YEAR of Premier League Football

Only Martial, as our striker, has scored a goal. 1 goal as our striker. The other goal scored by a striker goes back to Cristiano time. Wout and Hojlund have played 1 year without any goal for them.

The last time Antony had an assist was on October 2022 in the league. A game Ronaldo was playing.

We have absolutely no way of attacking play. Remove Rashford from our attack, we are shambles. We don't create anything at all.

Guarantee, Antony and Hojlund will play next game. Then we will act surprised when we don't score or create anything.

Its delusional to say we have injuries?
I think ETH has been poor this season (and some of last)but injuries are no a delusion
Injuries doesn't force Ten Hag to keep with the one DM approach nor to keep starting McTominay. Our attack is injury-free and we can't score goals, that's on training and tactics.

I've lost faith in him. Said last week he stumbled upon a workable midfield only because Bruno got suspended. With Bruno back, he returns to the shitty midfield setup he's gone with the whole season.

It has nothing to do with the Premier League. The team isn't better set to play in continental competitions.

This should be the poster in the dressing room until the next game day.
Fine, but those two have both been brought in by the manager so if they're failing it's still on him. If the two players are being INSTRUCTED to cut in and shoot that's going to kill Hojlunds opportunities too.

I would agree with you if we were Bayern Munich with a clear transfer structure. We aren’t, and by all accounts ETH has specifically preferred the vast majority of these signings as HIS choices barring Kane and De Jong. Just sticking your head in the sand and saying it’s Murtoughs fault (who is also terrible) doesn’t change that.

Either way, it’s doesn’t matter because Ten Hag is the one that still blindly sticks to a horrid system that hasn’t yielded an iota of promise all season. That’s the most damning part of it all.
We don’t have attacking players who are good enough same as last season. The system isnt really the issue.

ETH has to take alot of blame but not for recruitment in my opinion. You are basically absolving Murtough of his job (which was to put said structure in place)

Or maybe West Ham know we are shite in our attacking play and let us have the ball in non-threatening areas. Reminds me of another Dutch manager for us and his entourage of supporters who kept on harping about possession and control, while we kept getting zero shots on target in games.

He lost me when he brought Fernandes back into a working structure, and that he keeps bringing Rashford, who obviously doesn't care.

The manager is a fraud too. Not denying that.

Our attack is not injury free and we can’t score goals because the players are not good enough. We also struggled to score last season with the same players. An in form Rashford was the saving grace

Up until this point I believed that seagulls were the most hateful birds. I was wrong.
I've snapped, and now that I have the Glazers will have no choice but to sack Ten Hag.

I wanted him to succeed, I'm actually struggling to understand what truly went wrong. But I can genuinely not think of a match this season where we've actually played particularly well. At least with Klopp and Arteta you could see what they were trying to do, even if it was inconsistent. We don't even have that. We just have the same mistakes being made every week with no sign of improvement.

He wasn’t hired off of what his previous teams did. He was hired off of his success and football at Ajax.

And I have no fecking clue how you gather that he’s not the clear driving force of our recruitment choices. Antony, Malacia, Martinez, Mount, Onana, Eriksen, and the countless targets we were interested in as well with links to him.

But hey none of it’s his fault right? He’s just getting screwed by those rotten Glazers!

Both being shit at transfers and getting screwed by the Glazers can be true.

His 75m striker, his 90m winger and Rashford who’s on 350k a week not good enough

He should have a system of play. He should have signed players for that system. It’s completely on him.

We haven't played well in 10 months.

He should never have got the job in the first place. He's 53 years old and has three Dutch league titles with Ajax to show for his entire career.

Ooh you're hard using all caps.

Not completely given thats not the striker he wanted. Given also he wanted more than one attacking signing.

He is responsible for the fact he can't make jt work on the pitch but to say the Hojlund signing is completely on him and then include fees is a bit silly.

I’m not meaning to, I want all of them gone as well as a good majority of the squad. Only then will I have hope that we might turn the fortunes of the club around. Just saying that it’s quite clear from the beginning that ETH isn’t merely just coaching up a squad he’s been given, he had a serious say in who we brought in/chased after.

I agree with you. I don't know what the lad has tried to achieve and I don't think he knows himself. As much as people want to find excuses the reality of the matter is that good coaches find structural ways to overachieve and ETH doesn't.

And he also was not listened to about the attack this summer

Watching Spurs play attacking football after losing one of the best players on the planet in the summer without being replaced adequately, is soul destroying, especially with posters on here talking about how Eth needs millions more just to make us look competent.

Is it down to recruitment when the biggest red mark against him is how worse the players are this season in a new formation that doesn’t work?

And they have significant injuries too. Yes they lost a few games because of that but they aren't collapsing like we are.

Stop. fecking. Playing. Mctominay. In. Some. Free. Ass. Do. Whatever. He. Wants. Role.

I'm fully eth out at this point. We play like shit and barely create anything. Worse than lvg ball at this point. He has made this bed by persisting with shit players. So lucky the club sale hasn't gone thru yet or his ass be gone

It has nothing to do with the Premier League. The team isn't better set to play in continental competitions.

Of course, it translates to CL too, because if he was any smarter we would be better in CL, but there's a big sample of games from PL to make that conclusion unlike CL to be fair.

But Kane was never going to happen. He might as well said he wanted Mbappe or Salah Tottenham was never selling Kane to United, Levy would have let him go for free and take his shot at CL qualification first.

Almost every signing has some type of connection to the manager, he’s not even signed the correct players from his former clubs.

Yes given most of last seasons better players have been missing all season. Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro etc. when said players were missing last season we were also poor.

We are also not even really playing a new formation, which by the way was not the issue today

Non-threatening? That's not true. We had a clear cut chance in the first half and got into West Ham's final third plenty of times. Despite how poor our attacking players were, Moyes wouldn't have been happy about that.

He’ll probably be gone when INEOS start running the day-to-day. Not that I’m confident ETH’s replacement will be any better, not unless SJR really gets our shit together very quickly.

Manchester United manager is the shittest job in football. It’s a career graveyard.
