How the hell did ETH rate Antony,Amrabat,Onana. How can he be trusted in the following windows?!

Obviously learnt a few lessons as the last 2 games he’s kept us more compact.
Ha. Or he's so petrified that he's effectively parked 11 players behind the halfway line with no outlet or attacking threat because he's too incompetent to think of anyway to attack well and defend well at the same time. He's an utterly shocking football manager. Been thoroughly exposed in England like most frauds who think they can hack it in the PL.

Defensive shape was decent like it was against Bayern but we have nothing in attack.

Think we are set up ok considering the personnel available. Let's hope we keep the second half score respectable... :(

Lets see how we do second half. We collapsed in our 7-0 loss by conceding 6 goals in the second. people thought we played a good first half back then, pool missed a lot then everything they hit went in.

so in your theory, it is impossible to win the league then. Pep and klopp are arguably the top 2 managers in the world

i obviously don’t agree with what you said. Our problem is much much more than a manager issue
Yes basically that. Just like it was impossible outside Wenger and SAF. Unless we get the new Mou.

We got the result today but I feel like we were both lucky and greatly helped by circumstances. Varane was our best defender and he wouldn’t have been there if Maguire was healthy. Having two defensive midfielders helped us immensely too and that wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Bruno’s suspension.

Hope he sees the light and starts playing a more compact, tight midfield.

I counted one good chance all game? Our players cannot keep the ball or make more than 2-3 passes in any given move, it's absolutely appalling

Exactly the 11 I expected him to pick and the performance I would have liked given the circumstances. I hope he starts to pick better teams going forward.

Has bought himself some more time after that today. Despite all the troubles, that’s a very good point and clean sheet away from home against a team who everybody thought would score 5 or 6 today. Credit to him and the players today.

It's actually far better result than anything anyone of us expected but I hope people don't consider this as progress or achievement.

Everyone here predicted a thrashing before the game, claiming that playing offensive would be naive.
We end up with a draw and people still complain.

Changes nothing. 18 goals from 17 matches and players who can't control a football are main parts of the team.

Playing pragmatically coincidentally has been one of the more successful approaches for Eth.

How so? Liverpool didn't actually have that many chances. In fact, United probably had the best couple of opportunities of the game.
They had LOADS of chances, are you just going to make shit up? They couldn't finish today and that was the only reason we got a point. They carved us open countless times to only feck up at the end, the amount of corners too.

Its fairly obvious to anyone with half a brain that we look far more compact with two deep lying midfielders as against one. But I fully expect brainwave Erik to start against Villa with Bruno and Mctominay again.

Set out whatever side he could muster in an organized and controlled fashion. That's all he could do today. It's a shame Garnacho or Hojlund didn't take their chances - it was the best 2 chances of the game and fell to us

He only played this line up out of necessity.

Set up very well. Benefitted from Pool being off it today but a draw is a fantastic result really.

Great result.

- In the context that even with our first 11 we are not able to go toe to toe at Anfield
- In the context that we have an insane injury crisis
- In the context that Bruno stupidly missed this game
- In the context of the lack of confidence

This is a very good result. EtH stuck to his tactics, even though the team is made up of such dross and got a point, with a bit more quality could have gotten more regardless of how pool performed.

These tactics have left us exposed at times and with the injuries, mistakes they have led to poor results.

However, I can see with the right signings how playing this way would allow us to go toe to toe with any team...however that relies on a big IF we get our recruitment right.

I would say two good chances. Garnacho and Hoijund.

Got it right today. Must have been on the phone to Hodgson during the week. Palace set the blue print last week for how to stop Liverpool.
