Deserved win but we can't be as open as that first half. We'll get punished especially as the team tends to capitulate after it let's in a goal or 2 nowadays.

We’ve been even better this half
Chelsea being weak, bad in passing and generally weird in terms of attempting to play has helped quite a bit. We were good but the opponent helped a lot. It was more or less the exact opposite to Newcastle

We’ve beaten the ghost of Chelsea, relax. People will soon swing the other way when it’s Bayern & Liverpool.

A win is a win. This has more than a touch of the Spurs game prior to Ole leaving.

He isnt saying it is amazing to beat this Chelsea. He says it shows that players arent 'downing tools' or that 'ETH lost the dressing room'. Claims that the experts on this site have been making. Most players are still willing to run for ETH and still want to play for him.

We had far more control which was pleasing compared to the first half. Limited them to very little

Dominant performance. Should have scored more goals.

Still not a fan of McTominay in midfield despite his 2 goals.

If we had more performances resembling this, I'd happily give him more time, but I worry this is an anomaly vs a dire Chelsea side.

ETH haS lOsT dReSsInG rOoM

Was always a nonsense claim.

Delighted for him tonight, looked much better with his signings Amrabat, Höjlund & Antony in the side. Big move too taking out Lindelöf who was shite on the goal, much more commitment from Serge.

Think he’ll need to build on this as more players return in order for the INEOS cree to keep him. Fingers crossed for him.

Our players don't down the tools anyway. As I said few weeks ago, I don't see lack of efforts on the pitch.

It's just the player either not being able to follow the instructions or they're straight up poor. You can blame our lack of intensity but that doesn't have anything to do with efforts.

We were terrible because we were terrible, not because of some conspiracy stuff people want to force on our players.

I'm not talking about the result. I'm talking about the energy and passion that you saw from the players out there. Everyone was trying. That's not the mark of a team that has given up on the manager.

Difficult night for the haters.

30 shots, dominating possession, dominating the game. Good pressing, intensive attacking. Good performance by Antony, two goals by McTominay after tons of post "oh my god, McTominay starts, we'll surely lose now", incredible team spirit.

I reckon this thread won't grow by more than 2 pages in the next days.

Aye. They'll have to wait a bit. Maybe we can reset the poll next time we lose.

These "haters" are actually United fans with different opinion on the manager than yours, which doesn't make then any less of a fan than you or any other "top reds". Good job trying to start a pointless argument on a good night we won. If we lose an upcoming game and someone quoted your post you'll claim they're not real supporters.

It’s quite clear ETH has not lost the dressing room. He may have lost some players like Sancho or Rashford, but it’s obvious the vast majority of the team is still pulling in the same direction.
Yep. Clearly tools are nowhere near downed. The team fought like crazy today.

You constantly come in here causing arguments when we win as well though.

If all of our games were like that and we occasionally ended up on the end of a bad result I don't think people would have any complaints.

Clearly hasn't lost the dressing room, plenty of effort on show tonight. Hope he doesn't change the team too much for the weekend

This is what we need, first and foremost. Bin off the players that aren't willing to fight, regardless of what they have won in the past or done in previous seasons. We need players willing to fight now.

Tonight was a great showcase of the promise we have under Ten Hag, and a lot of the positives we've displayed are ones we've demonstrated a lot this season - brilliant high press, creating loads of chances - but one of the differences about tonight was that, in the second half at least, we had a bit more control and dealt with their counters well.

When we barely scrap win while being crap and someone like you come and try to convince us we're doing well.

Today was fun though.

He did well today with a much improved performance albeit against a shite Chelsea side. Still not convinced by him but hope he proves me wrong.

We definitely looked more in control of ourselves today than Chelsea did. But they still had a few dangerous moments. Our good outlook came from us being very engaged up front and Chelsea didn't really try to exploit the space that opened up. It is always difficult to distinguish, were we good or was the opponent bad. I think, the opponent was really bad and we, while certainly being better than in probably all our other games this season, weren't fantastic but good enough to not get under too much pressure.

There's definitely a team in there, so to speak. The desire to win and fluidity amongst our attack was impressive. Chelsea may not be that hard to play against but we have shown signs that we can be very good under certain conditions.

Explicit praise there from McSauce directed at EtH in his post-match interview. Good to see that sort of public show of support, sends the right message.

He’s said before in interviews that if one player doesn’t press or give it their all the whole thing collapses and tonight everyone worked their socks off and lo and behold we play well.
