Wasn't Moyes crucified for over training?

No. He got criticism for scrapping Van Persie's personalized training which helped him to stay fit.

Double session is very common in preseason, Klopp even took triple session in his first preseason.

At this point I don't even care about titles in the near future, it's going to take a special manager (especially considering the incompetence in other areas of the club) to beat Pep and Klopp as they're easily the best managers in the world right now. I just want to see us play football that looks like we've trained for it, that looks like we know what we're supposed to do with the ball without the ball and off the ball.
I'd happily take top 4 finishes for the next few seasons, and maybe overtake Liverpool hoping Klopp won't be able to rebuild this squad, because as long as Pep is at City, with their financial prowess and just sheer competence, they're not going anywhere.

You're always going to have leaks like this. There's way too many people that work at Carrington for things not to get out.
In fairness, leaks aren't inherently a bad thing and happens at a lot of clubs. The leaks we were experiencing last year where it looked like different camps of players taking swipes at each other/the club/the manager through the media was on a different level entirely. Didn't help that a lot of them appeared* to be coming from very, very unpopular players.

*I say appeared because in reality there's no way of actually knowing.

Shocking, the days half gone by that time

Athletes don't train all day and while team training is at 9 am or 10 am, some players have to come earlier for individual work with trainers or physios and there can be additional work in the afternoon.

“The players are pleased with their initial impressions”

Who the feck do they think they are? The new manager doesn’t need the approval of an overpaid bunch of losers.

EXACTLY!

If I were the manager, I'd be looking to sell most of the players asap. This set of players has been consistently crap and has proven to be incapable of winning a trophy.

We gave them too much power with stupid contracts.Club should just cut the loses with few players.I know that would be bad from busines side but from sport side it will be excellent.

According to billionaires on YouTube they wake up at 3am which is the key to success so ETH is on the right track.

They're the one who make up our club and deserve to have their opinions heard

Approval is definitely needed since they're the ones who will he putting in the work.

It was important to get the smiles going under Ole.

Not sure why people have an idea that Ole did no training with the players. Do you guys even know that without adequate training, the players cannot be in any sort of condition to play a football match let alone win it?

Ole got this club 2nd and 3rd, europa league final and reached the semi finals of almost every cup competition during the 19/20 and 20/21 season. Just by those stats you can discern that the fitness and conditioning of the players were very good during those 2 seasons to play that many games. The players pressing and overall gameplay was quite good as well. He might not have won a trophy, but you cannot doubt how he has made the players competitive.

It is just a shame that this season has been beset with injuries, fitness issues and players taking a while to adapt plus mentality issues which caused topsy turvy performances during Ole's last days. Even with Rangnick's training methods, there were not much improvements which tells you the issues were beyond training methods and style of play.

I think we're going to be alright...

Was just watching this and thinking even without the big hitters there that team is still mad with all that young potential and the ones who underachieved. I still can't get my head around why we were so bad last season.

If ten Hag can rejuvenate this team we could cause some serious damage. He must be excited inside with what he could achieve here and what he has at his disposal. That squad really is potentially good enough with three or four new faces if he can get them going.

Having the five subs and European football this season will be great for player game time.

Because Ole as Manchester United player was a different beast to how he was as a manager of the club. His football was dire to watch, and to add to that he left the club in absolute shambles, with no identity whatsoever. What was his philosophy exactly? Put the team out and rely on moments of individual brilliance? To me if we put sentimentality aside then he was a likeable fellow but a really bad coach. Rangnick's mojo was always club building not coaching. Comparing Ole and Rangnick to ETH is like comparing chalk to cheese. Finally we have got a cultured coach with sound footballing acumen, an understanding of the game and a well laid out modern progressive philosophy. With his appointment we are heading in the right direction after so many wasted years.

I hope he gets rid of all of the hangers on and the past legends. The legends should be good for documentaries and etc. Football needs to move forward.

Wonder what ETH take will be on the likes of Roy Keane, Neville and scholes commenting on us all season.

I think Keane will like ETH as long as results are somewhat OK.

Neville will contradict himself

Scholes will mumble some nonsense
