Rojo has been the best of them so far this season, but I still consider Smalling to be the best on his day. Plus he will always be the best in the air of all of them (both defensively and also in the oppositions box).Who starts alongside him, well Rojo, Jones , and Smalling are very good options to have, but Rojo so far gets my vote.
My favourite player to watch, which is mad considering he's a defender. He has the potential to be the best defender in the world imo. His upward trajectory from guarding a phone box to now has been crazy and he's only 22. Just this season his passing has improved a lot and he is becoming a beast in the air too, add to that the manager he is playing under and it's scary to think how good he'll be. Arguably only equalled by Luiz and Alderwiereld this season in the league. He must be scary as feck to come up against.
he's got a hige spring, just need to time it better and be more composed he's like a fecking hurricane in the air, Smalling should tutor him on this matter and he will be a beastHe's great. Anyone else notice the weird way he jumps for headers? Kind of bends down and jumps at the same time. Feel like he's be much more dominant if he learned to straighten his back because he's got a hell of a spring.
He was this good in glimpses. I saw a fair bit of him when I often bet on Villareal last season. The strengths were there, along with being a rather messy defender at times. I would certainly credit Jose for turning him into a very solid defender now because the transformation is similar with Rojo, and might I dare say Jones recently as well. Was he this good when with Villareal? I refuse to believe he suddenly turns into this quality of CB only after playing under Mou.
But then, if he's been on this level at Villareal, how could we get him easily and relatively cheap also?

It may be as you said, but I think it's since the game one, people could already see how good this guy was, not just as centerback, but as a footballer. That can't be taught overnight.
I remember him from quite a few games I watched this season, mainly because I have a habit of betting on Villarreal. I didn't think he was that impressive in La Liga. Very fast, quick to the ball but also quick to the tackle, too quick in fact. To be fair, La Liga players are better on the ball than EPL players. So, that might work in his favor if he joins us. Reminded me a bit of one of those Nigerian defenders from the 90s, Taribo West and Bakayoko or something in the sense that he's a very exciting defender because of his fast reactions.
Eric do you want a cup of tea? AAH GOD WHY DID YOU TACKLE ME?!Lingard speaking to Four-Four-Two said:
Marcos Rojo and Eric Bailly are the duo that apparently never give an inch in training, going into tackles just as hard as they would in a real game - "The first few weeks after Bailly arrived he would 'two-foot' everything, everything.''
What an entrance. Joins a new club, starts two-foot-tackling everyone, all the time

I remember a Liverpool poster on here was raving about him after they played Villareal in the EL last year.
Maybe @Dumbstar?
Yes it was me. Makes me wonder what these scouts are paid for. However, his injuries were as much eye brow raising as his obvious abilities. Probably what put other teams off.
Thanks. Any other less than obvious players you would recommend to Josè?

I meant spelling wise but yeah pronunciation wise, it is different I think. What you've written there seems to be correct.
Well there you go.
Eye-ee or Aye-ee?
I don't know how you pronounce the second but there is A like in Atlanta and a "yee".
Jaysus. That's neither of the above.
Eric Bah-yee.
I need to re-learn his name.
On a side note, this is also the first time I've ever pronounced Desailly's name correctly.
Phonetically it's duh-ssah-yee.
The reason the PL is stil not the best? There's more than just physique. But he good a good head on him luckily as well and is very composed.Big strong fast whats not to like
He was quite good at Villareal in my opinion, but he has grown a lot at Manchester United. I work for Metrica Sports, who analyses Villareal's play. Seen loads of the kid last seasonI remember a Liverpool poster on here was raving about him after they played Villareal in the EL last year.
