Really disappointing he's given himself to Chelsea - he has everything for a central midfielder.

8.5 year contract - I hope for his sake he's at least got that inflation linked somehow!!

Don't worry about it. Sabitzer will run rings around him.

He'll be a big fat mess by the start of next season anyway - Chelsea have just paid him into retirement.

I don’t get why you all rate him so highly. I just don’t get it. He has everything to prove at the highest level and I haven’t seen enough evidence of it. A few good games in the World Cup don’t change that. I seriously doubt him to become an amazing world class midfielder. I don’t see it with him. Guess only time would tell but to me, it’s bullet fecking dodged.

90M for Pogba
80M for Maguire
86M for Antony
Benfica got one over Chelsea with the fee, but it’s not that much more. If we had the money and ten Hag wanted him, we would have paid a similar amount.
You do understand that United paid those money in 3 different season. We are talking about 600m in 6 months. No team has ever done this.

Kepa

James Gusto
Fofana Badiashile
Thiago Silva
Koulibaly
Chilwell Cucurella

Kante Fernandez
Kovacic
Mount

Sterling
Nkunku
Mudryk

I mean I'm not impressed tbh, still need a new keeper, they need to keep permacrocks James and Chilwell fit, still relying on Thiago Silva, all 3 midfielders are workhorses with no specialists and attack lacks clinical goal scorers

There's still lots of money that needs and probably will be spent
Forgot about Havertz

They gonna sell a bunch this summer i assume - Auba, Ziyech, Pulisic, Azpi, Gallagher and also not sign Felix permanently. If they manage to sign someone like Oshimen im gonna hate them even more

maybe it just feels imbalanced because they sign so many players for certain positions, but I guess if you overload every single position it becomes balanced again

Ha ha, like 50 grown men on either side of a kids seesaw. Technically balanced, but still fcuking bizarre!

Havertz is surely on the chopping block he's been shit

It's grotesque. They've managed to make City look normal.
Yes it is but so what? It’s their money (legit money), they have it, they are not breaking any rules by spending it.
I’m not sure I’d go quite as radio rental but it’s their prerogative surely?

We will not know until we get there, but according to Fabrizio it is off to a good start. Felix has a clause in his contract that he can push a transfer.

WHAT?!? Really ? I havent watch chelsea at all this season. Dint they spend like 80m on him 2-3 seasons ago ?
They also spent 100m on Lukaku a year ago but Chelsea have this amazing ability that no matter how much money they waste and despite having revenues lower than the rest of the top 6 to suffer absolutely no consequences to their incompetence by having access to a limitless revolving credit of money. No wonder they’re loved by Tories.

Of course. Nobody is screaming blue murder about rules being broken. Lots of people find excess pretty unseemly, though. Especially when it relates to competition and sport, with the figures at play.

I don't really think he actually improves them today. Obviously, they paid for the potential but he's behind Kovacic and probably Jorginho too in terms of current ability.

I'd love to be in their position. Their owners never have an issue with spending

I really, really wish people would stop accusing others of jealousy because Chelsea have spent 600m and we only spent 250m. We have signed Casemiro, Antony, Eriksen, Martinez. We aren't going without. What Chelsea are doing is unprecedented and is an orgy of avarice. It's rancid.
It's the truth though, you might not be feeling jealous but there is clearly plenty in here that is.

They want Fernandez, Mudryk etc - its natural.

People get on their high horses to pretend it's about morals, when in reality if it was our new owners doing the same we'd be laughing our heads off.

I realise that, but looking at how much they spent per player it’s not as grotesque as some were trying to make out. They are buying a ton of players to try and get into the CL places, which is understandable.

Boehly is acting like Woodward after a bump of coke. I don’t think it will work out for them. It hasn’t worked out so far even after their summer spending.

He will be their new Saul!! Okay seriously all these talented players and then graham potter as a manager that's kinda funny..

Foolish, people havent learnt yet the mistakes of signing a player off the back of a good world cup.

If people don’t like the rules of the game, then change them.
It’s a legit strategy, a risky one but you can understand the approach.
Yes the money involved is insane but that is what football is now (and has been for a long time).
Everything costs more (unless you are Brighton) and personally I think it’s a calculated risk to load up before more stringent rules come into play. Not the approach I’d have taken but you can see the logic.

To be fair how much would.... Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema, Alonso and a couple decent role players be in todays market? Chelsea have the quantity, but for quality that Madrid 2009 window was mad too.

It's bonkers what Chelsea are doing. It's either going to pay off big time, or it'll be a recipe for disaster. I actually feel a bit sorry for Potter. How do you bed these superstars in and get the team functioning, and keep everyone happy.

These splurges haven't worked in recent times, and now he's going to be under enormous pressure on the back of the money spent. I can see him gone before the end of the season.

One of the stupidest fees in history. But then Chelsea are very good at them.
What I'm wondering is what they're gonna do with Lukaku who cost them €115M the summer before last...

He's gonna come back from loan without a place in the team
