Jealousy really. The same ones complaining will be celebrating if we get oil money.
I really, really wish people would stop accusing others of jealousy because Chelsea have spent 600m and we only spent 250m. We have signed Casemiro, Antony, Eriksen, Martinez. We aren't going without. What Chelsea are doing is unprecedented and is an orgy of avarice. It's rancid.

Chelsea have bought some young talented players this window but this one is annoying. But that's a lot of baggage with that transfer fee, a record fee to be precise. He is still young and has things to improve

Here we go!

I worry (or maybe not so much) that Chelsea is starting to like us circa 10 years ago. The crazy spending is all well and good during transfer windows, but things can quickly turn ugly on the pitch.

All the hate about the money spent is just envy and hypocrisy as United has been spending like this regularly.

I'm stealing that.

On paper another great signing.

But football isn’t played on paper.

Chelsea have done a remarkable amount of business this window and have signed some terrific young talents.

Yes. We regularly spent 600m in 4 months.

Nowhere near. This level of spending should never be allowed.

Gone from being signed for just 10M in June and 6 months in Liga Nos to being the most expensive player in the history of the Premier League in January...

feck me today's game would've killed poor old Fergie

No they haven't. No one ever has.

I think the difference in Chelsea now and us then is even though they are spending stupidly at least they are addressing positions of need

They are buying a lot of players for their rebuild. But the amount for Enzo is something United would have paid as we have been paying similar amounts for players.

This isn’t grotesque like Mbappe/Neymar.

Absurdity. Would be absolute comedy gold if he doesn’t come off for Chelsea.

Benfica are the undisputed kings of the market though, this is the same lot who squeezed 126m for a 19 year old raw Joao Felix.

Nobody else comes close to doing profit like that lot.

Clubs outside the top 4 leagues in general (from France, Portugal, Netherland, Ukraine etc) have arguably the greatest negotiators in the world. L They take talents that people haven't heard about a year prior and develop, market then sell them on for ungodly sums to big clubs with too much money too care.

Benfica have made over €100m profit on a player who's player 17 league games for them, crazy times
They haven’t. River Plate inserted a sell-on clause; believe it’s 25%. Still a nice profit, though.

How good is he? he's obviously talented.. but how good? Who is he most similar to?

Are they though?

More wide forwards instead of a number 9
More water carrier midfielders rather than a specialist DM or CAM

Dont get me wrong Fernandez looked good in the WC and the new lad looked good in 10 minutes against Liverpool but I'm hardly quaking in my boots over their signings. Still feels like 5 or 6 at least to go into their starting XI
