Television Entourage

Keep stuff about other shows out of the other threads! I hadn't watched the True Blood finale yet, and didn't want to know anything at all about it.

He didn't say anything about it except it was disappointing tbh....

Thus the "at all". I prefer to go into episodes (particularly finales) not knowing what to expect.

Thought it was an alright finale. I've never liked Vince throughout any of the seasons though so I'm not sure what to make of it all. I suppose it makes it interesting for the rest of the characters.

It is a bit obvious what they did this season.

They had everyone go their own way away from Vince. While the rest of them are or will struggle without Vince, he himself has fallen apart the most. Ori's storyline has sucked though.

Who's he?

The thing is, I didnt really find Vince likable or not, he was just bland. They have finally given him some flavor, so he can redeem himself obviously, but even when he was fecked after Medeliin it was somewhat ho hum for him, he has finally shown some emotion which is cool

I actually like Adrian Grenier's portrayal of Vince in this season. Normally, he has a very bland and passive role but I find his acting quite decent this season. Him as a fecked up drug addict was quite convincing and he didn't need a bag of coke to prove that.

It was meh. Shame really as the rest of the season was excellent. They really needed an hour long finale like last season. They seem to be trying to fit too many celebrities into the show and it's leaving less room for the actual plot.

Didn't like the storyline of Ari and his wife, they were always great together in the show and I don't like this stupid all of a sudden problem.

Bit of a pointless season to be honest. This show has always been a bit of an excuse to watch some Hollywood grade T&A, but this season I felt it was just a rehash of some of very tired story lines and very little actual character progression. I'm personally sick of Ari's domestic issues. Bring back super agent Ari Gold not this meek Ari who's constantly trying to make his nagging wife happy. As far as Vince and the boys. I think we've already seen Vince in a spiral in season 2 over Mandy Moore. Ok, he didn't have a drug problem then, but he was out of control and I expect at some point in the next season we'll have another sugary reunion with his fellow compadres and all will be forgiven. Vince having a coke problem just felt forced given how well adjusted he seemed to have been for most of his career...if he's going to become an addict, shouldn't it have happened after Medellian bombed?

You can't think too hard about the show because it's always come across as something that's just meant to be enjoyed, not pondered over. The ass and titty quotient was pretty good this season, but thank feck that whore Sasha Grey won't be around. The only time I want to see her act is if she's surrounded by a gaggle of chimps looking to stuff her.

He became an addict after the car accident. It really shook hin up but he played it off then it caught up to him later in the season.

I didn't think it would happen but I'm just bored with the show now. I very much agree with the guy who wrote that the cameo appearances have become ridiculous at this point.

The fact that there's 1 series left, with 6 episodes and there's no much shit up in the air is a bit strange really. No idea how they'll close it, unless they make the episodes longer.

Like they close everything on Entourage. There will be a 1 minute scene where the two guys say sorry and they'll go back to being best friends. A celebrity or 5 will randomly show up. I'm guessing there will be a party, lots of booze, jokes about fecking, a lot of fine babes will manage to have their clothes taken off...nothing ground breaking. Entourage has never really been a show with a lot of depth, it's basically well dressed fluff which is a guilty pleasure to watch because none of the characters are really annoying.

I agree. I was shocked they sorted the whole E-Vince fight in season 5 finale in 5 mins or so. They could have played that up for at least half a season.

E and Vince?

i agree with you especially about the Ari story line. His wife knew who he was all these years and now she is running back to mommy FFS???!!!

But pivens look when Vince complained about going to his son's BB game really got to me. Piven is a great actor.

If anything he should be annoyed with her for abandoning him at the restaurant; typical fair-weather girl. You're right about Piven, he was especially good as a depressed writer on the Larry Sanders Show (which everyone should watch).

E and Vince?

They aren't any less annoying then when the show first started. Vince is still the carefree, Hollywood playboy star who can't handle rejection or being alone and E is the sensible, worrying, occasionally nagging friend who's trying to carve out his own identity outside the Vincent Chase shadow.

As character if you find them annoying in season 7, chances are you found them annoying before as well because other then some superficial changes to their circumstances they are still the same characters. There has been very little actual growth.

E's much less annoying than he used to be, tbf.

I never really found E annoying, he was a bitch, but not annoying, actually I think he is one of the most important characters on Entourage, and in all honesty this has been his weakest season, certainly not the shows, but he and Ari are actually cerebral characters which I think you would have a hard time saying about anyone else on the show, the fact that both have had been much different has really changed the show, usually all the 'drama' was happening with them and Vince by proxy, although Vince has certainly had his moments. Overall, I think somewhere along the line, Entourage lost its way, because it has really changed for the get go, I'm not knocking it in anyway because I still enjoy it. I think Seasons 1-2 were the best, this past season has been the best in a while though, I really enjoyed the tragic fall of Vince, although they should have saved more eps for his revival, although it has happened several times, this time I think the audience would be most empathic towards his return to health and greatness. The only character who has really stayed the same throughout the show is Drama, that said I have really enjoyed Turtle's progression, I always thought he was a good character but I really like his overall arc, throughout the series, in addition the girl he is plugging is fecking ridiculously fine.

Season 1? Really? I thought Season 1 was quite poor and I actually wanted to quit watching but I preservered and it is now one of my favourite shows on television along with True Blood.

Its typical HBO really. The same occured with True Blood. The first couple of episodes never gets you hooked.

I find it to be a pain when I have to watch every week. It was so brilliant where I can download the whole season and I can watch episode after episode.

These are exactly my sentiments!

Well in S7 Eric was a lot less annoying than previously, but he used to be a royal pain in the arse. Vince was never too bad but he's always been a selfish cnut and this season he just got out of hand.

It was a good season, mainly because it actually had quite a coherent plot for the most part, though it lost it's way a bit at the end. Certainly a lot better than S6. Sasha Grey wrecked my head though, stick to the porn please, you can't act.

actually the show is about the "entourage".....the plot is shifting towards vinnie who is supposed to be a passive character, I hope this rallying of characters around him to get his head back doesnt take too long...or else make the episode 45 minutes long to give ari and drama some more scenes

+ the last two episodes lacked frontal nudity, totally messing up my tit-counter

Mega bump..

So, do I watch this? I've been close to lots of times, downloading them and deleting them for space later and what not.

I need to be convinced. I watched a few youtube clips, and nothing hooks me and makes me think that I need to, but I imagine it's not that sort of show.

I loved it, if you're looking for a brilliant storyline then give it a miss but it's worth it for Johnny Drama and Ari Gold alone.

Drama, Ari, E and Turtle to a certain extent. It's an enjoyable show.

It's funny that Vinny is the least interesting character and the worst actor in the show.

E is a terrible character, and the show isn't even really about Vince. it's called Entourage for a reason. E is really the main character, unfortunately.

Great show though, up until maybe the fifth season where it goes downhill a bit.
