Also obviously hopefully speaking to soon but not convinced Jimmy over Tongue on another flat deck was the way to go.

Yea wrong decision bringing him in when Tongue was so good at Lords. Especially we’ve seen that sheer pace gets the Aussies uncomfortable with Wood. Broad, Wood, Woakes, and Tongue is a very good seam & pace outfit. Also obviously hopefully speaking to soon but not convinced Jimmy over Tongue on another flat deck was the way to go.
Surprised they didn't prep more of a green-top given the need to force a result here.
OT has been flat for years. It's a pretty boring ground since they switched the square sadly.
That's interesting/shame given what it used to be like.
As usual the economy is great but just doesn’t seem to have that usual spark with the new ball, which doesn’t bode well for when the ball is 60 overs old. Also obviously hopefully speaking to soon but not convinced Jimmy over Tongue on another flat deck was the way to go.
It does usually deteriate days 4 and 5 and take spin. Hopefully the weather allows that to happen as it looks like a 400 deck batting first innings.
This is starting to feel a bit pointless. Needed quick wickets to have a chance of concluding this on the dry days.
Haven’t seen enough from Anderson yet to persuade me he was the right pick over Tongue.
Rubbish
It’s honestly incredible isn’t it. It’s got to the point where I’ll actually be surprised if somehow there isn’t a tense finish, despite the rain.As always with this series, when a team looks like they might pull away, someone or something drags them right back in.
If we get another quick wicket then things would be looking good - especially if that wicket is Head.
Tell you what lads, if we can get them all out today...
The weather will still feck us
LET'S GOOOOOBairstow shutting up the Caf
Woakes is such a good bowler in English conditions. Important wicket that, and one more would be great before close.
I had not seen the score since lunch. Very pleased with that. England edge the day.
England hat firlmy on, but I don't think you can categorically call that a no ball.

The line isn’t even straight. I’m certain he’d have had at least a cm behind the line if his foot was further to the left.
Really frustrating in terms of the extra time this is taking out the game now.
Yeah, surely that's too close to overturn. Looked like some of the foot was definitely behind the line.England hat firlmy on, but I don't think you can categorically call that a no ball.
